Harriot

Harriot is a small black poodle, a Dao Lord slightly stronger than the average of that realm, and Eclipse's principal assistant in the Primordial Garden. He manages the Queen's administration, intelligence, guests, and migration projects while quietly turning her whims into workable policies.

Biography

Managing the Primordial Queen

Harriot first appears executing Eclipse's orders across the Garden's networks and portals. Although his senses are not sealed like hers, he avoids probing visitors without a reason and treats her consent as the boundary governing Garden resources. During Lex's obstacle course and the Innkeeper's tea party, he checks karma and future traces, summons guests, explains universe-scale crises, and runs dangerous activities with explicit rules and exits. His practical warnings often meet Eclipse's improvisation, so loyalty requires adapting to her decisions rather than simply agreeing with them. (Chapters 1901–1923 and 2025–2112)

Migration and continued service

When parts of the Garden cannot adapt, Harriot chooses survival over preserving every resident in place. He negotiates with the Innkeeper to migrate trillions of low-level beings, provides a complete data crystal, and accepts a compromise in which the Inn supplies a destination without guaranteeing a sheltered life. He then plans to test new dungeons with weaker Primordials, extending the relationship from emergency relocation to ongoing cooperation. By the latest chapter he remains beside Eclipse during Ventura's warning about an unknown high-level power, continuing his role as administrator and trusted witness. (Chapters 2134–2175 and 2395)

Appearance and personality

Harriot takes the form of a small black poodle and is consistently referred to as male. His tail, paws, and canine expressions remain visible even in formal Dao Lord settings; rumors say he once dyed his hair black, but the claim is not verified. He is professional, cautious, and deeply loyal, often exhausted by Eclipse's logic but willing to affirm her preferred interpretation when it causes no harm. Dao Lord perception and divination

Harriot is a Dao Lord slightly stronger than average whose abilities remain available inside the Primordial Garden. He can inspect karma, destiny, fate, and causality, recognize concealed intent, and attempt future prediction. Powerful interference obscures deeper readings of Lex, and he asks before forcing the probe, establishing both a technical limit and a deliberate restraint. He can also see through concerns before they are voiced and recognize high-level dangers, though beings above him still require caution. (Chapters 1907, 1915, 2027–2028, 2075, and 2135)

Portals, administration, and clones

Harriot opens portals within and beyond the Garden, communicates rapidly with its Dao Congress, summons other Dao Lords, and processes information concerning enormous populations. He can operate through a clone; after concluding business at the Inn he chooses to keep one active rather than dismiss it. The narrative does not define the clone's range or whether its destruction would harm him. His most extensive feats depend on the Garden's institutions and Eclipse's authority, so the actions of the Congress are not treated as his personal techniques. Relationships

• Eclipse: Harriot is Eclipse's assistant, administrator, and loyal companion. He moderates her whims, handles obligations she delegates, and remains beside her during sensitive meetings.
• Lex Williams: Harriot observes Lex in the Garden, delivers him to Eclipse, and later negotiates the migration of Garden residents with the Innkeeper.
• Ventura: Ventura treats Harriot as part of Eclipse's security and asks that he be notified before any personal visit during a crisis.
