Eclipse

Eclipse is the Primordial Eclipsecrawler who owns the Primordial Garden and identifies herself as the strongest recognized Dao Lord in the universe. Although she has sealed her extra powers and senses, her stewardship of the Garden, control over primordial conditions, and decision about when to attempt her next step affect the maturation of the universe itself.

Biography

A bargain after the tribulation

Before meeting Lex directly, Eclipse watches him sitting on a Gabana fruit and, with her extraordinary awareness sealed, cannot detect the Wu Kong aura behind the situation. She instead regards the improvised seat as a novel use of the fruit, establishing the curiosity that shapes their later exchange. After his Primordial tribulation, she takes a portion of its energy without provoking retaliation, then insists on paying a fair price rather than treating superior strength as permission to keep it. While guiding him, Eclipse explains that the Primordial Garden sacrifices ordinary maturation to produce Primordial energy. Its ceiling prevents Dao tribulations inside it, yet the energy permits Dao Lords to stay without destroying the realm and supports races and plants extinct elsewhere. She then introduces herself as the Garden's owner, the Primordial Eclipsecrawler, and the strongest recognized Dao Lord. The true identity carries enough universal weight to make Lex faint, a consequence she handles with practiced amusement rather than offense. (Chapters 1894–1896)

Lex's disclosure that his arrival can link the Garden to the Midnight Inn forces Eclipse to weigh curiosity against control. She allows the connection as payment for the tribulation energy but requires the Inn to ask before sending visitors, preserving her authority over who enters. She keeps the golden key he offers yet refuses to use it: leaving the Garden could force her to unseal herself, damage reality, and begin a universal transition before her preparations are complete. When Lex returns to ask permission to record the Garden's laws, Eclipse is surprised that the Innkeeper might reproduce even a small Primordial environment. She nevertheless consents on the explicit condition that the recording not harm the realm's laws, then asks to meet the Innkeeper and discuss the attempt. Her response turns potential intrusion into supervised inquiry. It also reveals a governing preference that recurs later: experimentation is welcome when it respects the living system she has spent ages constructing. (Chapters 1897–1898)

Teacher, gardener, and dangerous playmate

Eclipse's interest in Lex grows because he asks questions that engage with the Garden rather than merely coveting its resources. When Lotus notices an uneven flow in the realm, Eclipse explains that she periodically directs its laws through a cycle, keeping them fresh and stable instead of imposing a rigid arrangement. She offers a fuller lesson later, treating Lotus's curiosity seriously even though the Realm Seed is far younger and weaker. The exchange shows her preference for adaptable ecosystems over static displays of power. (Chapter 1899)

Her hospitality also has a hazardous sense of play. Eclipse invites Lex through a Garden obstacle course, moderates the first jump because she is genuinely concerned he might die, and watches his improvisations with Harriot. The course crosses territory inhabited by primordial threats and even a Dao Lord tarantula, so her idea of safe recreation remains calibrated to an ancient apex being. Still, she supplies a silent healing benefit at the final lake and returns Lex to her side once he completes the challenge. (Chapters 1899–1922)

The reward becomes intellectual as much as physical. Lex's questions about precedent, time reversal, and universal strain lead Eclipse to shield him from pressure while explaining how a first achievement can alter the laws that govern later attempts. Her statements repeatedly trigger enlightenment because the knowledge itself carries consequences beyond an ordinary immortal's tolerance. She waits through those episodes and stops when continuing would overwhelm him, balancing delight in his questions with recognition that information can injure a weaker listener. Eclipse's public reputation gives these casual exchanges a sharper edge. Shireen knows her through titles such as Grand Butcher of Dao Lords and legends that her web bound the universe's fate; even thinking of Eclipse can draw universal pressure. Lex instead experiences a joking elder who grants permission, explains systems, and proposes tea. The contrast is not evidence that the reputation is false. It shows that Eclipse's confidence lets her treat an immortal conversationally without becoming less dangerous to peers who understand what her true name and history imply. (Chapters 1895 and 1934)

The Primordial tea party

Before the tea party, Eclipse remains focused on processing the tribulation energy and developing her Garden. Harriot's report that powerful forces are targeting Lex earns her attention because she finds him interesting, but she initially refuses to interfere, adhering to the Garden's law that living beings must face natural pressure. When she learns that the Innkeeper has sent Wu Kong to answer the threat, however, she approves of his protection and invites Ventura, turning an individual favor into a gathering of universe-level actors. (Chapter 2025)

She approaches the party as both gardener and collector of history. Eclipse considers revealing a Primordial Bag-Worm containing a realm preserved from the first Age, then accepts Lex's advice that indiscriminate guests may not deserve or safely appreciate it. She instead asks attendees to bring flowers and maintains a separate greenhouse for modern flora, using contemporary species as inspiration for new primordial life. The party therefore serves her long project of keeping even primordial ecosystems capable of change. (Chapters 2027–2028 and 2040–2043)

Wu Kong tests the boundary between guest and predator. Eclipse immediately detects his intention to exploit her sealed awareness, insists that he address her as Primordial Queen, and warns that anyone who harms the Garden can be killed. She accepts his Jade Lotus only after he agrees to behave and later supports the Innkeeper's enforcement when the monkey steals from other guests. Her rule is not blanket gentleness: hospitality survives because both host and Garden owner retain consequences for guests who turn curiosity into damage. (Chapters 2039–2040 and 2052–2055)

The gathering also places Eclipse among Nuwa, Ventura, and other beings invested in universal maturation. Nuwa regards Eclipse as an unwitting jailer because the universe cannot enter its next Era until Eclipse unseals her power and attempts the next step. Eclipse does not yield to that resentment or to the pressure of stronger hidden beings. She continues the party, guards her own timing, and treats the Garden's readiness as part of the decision, keeping a universal threshold subordinate to a cultivation choice no one has safely forced. A sealed queen in a widening war

After the party, Eclipse's authority remains institutional as well as personal. The Dao Senate exists to carry out her wishes and maintain her happiness, while Harriot and Nulli remain close because sealing all her extra powers prevents her from operating alone without risk. This support network does not replace her judgment. It lets a sealed Dao Lord receive reports, project herself to distant meetings, and govern without casually triggering the consequences that direct unsealing would impose on reality. (Chapter 2395)

Ventura ultimately seeks that network when an unknown power freezes the universe and raises the possibility of an enemy beyond the eight hidden figures he knows. Eclipse accepts the urgent meeting before he has to enter the Garden, listens while continuing to treat Harriot like a pet, and recommends withdrawing from the Dream Realm's main conflict while using the retreat to preserve threatened Major realms. Her response favors containment and salvage over an impulsive confrontation with a force they do not yet understand. (Chapter 2395)

Nulli calls Eclipse a softie after the projection ends, and Eclipse merely rolls her eyes. The exchange captures her latest balance: she is unconcerned enough to joke after a universe-scale warning, but the advice she gives is protective rather than indifferent. No chapter confirms that she unseals her abilities or takes the advancement linked to the next Era. She therefore remains the strongest recognized Dao Lord, still sealed in the Garden, preparing rather than crossing the pending threshold. (Chapters 2036 and 2395)

Appearance and personality

At her first narrative appearance, Eclipse is identified as an Eclipsecrawler and reflects that her arachnid body makes sitting on a Gabana fruit awkward. When she meets Lex directly, she presents as a beautiful human girl, later displaying a sly smirk and playful expressions. She also refers to crafting webs from karmic strings. Together, these details establish a nonhuman underlying form without supplying a complete anatomical description. (Chapters 1891, 1894–1896, 1899, and 1910)

She is candid, curious, proud, and mischievous. Eclipse calls herself humble immediately after declaring other Dao Lords and mortals equally beneath her, enjoys pranks and dangerous games, and shares universe-level secrets with disarming ease. Her arrogance is supported by confidence rather than constant cruelty: she pays debts, honors permissions, changes plans after good advice, encourages worthwhile questions, and uses her final strategic appearance to preserve realms rather than prove superiority through a reckless fight. Abilities and cultivation

Established Dao Lord status and sealed condition

Eclipse enters the narrative as an established Dao Lord and calls herself the strongest recognized Dao Lord in the universe. Her earlier cultivation and Dao breakthrough are not narrated. She has deliberately sealed every extra ability and supernatural sense, leaving only the basic senses available to mortals, yet her underlying body remains immensely strong. The seal explains why she cannot automatically inspect Lex or detect every plot while also preventing the casual use of powers whose release could damage the fabric of reality. (Chapters 1895–1898)

The Primordial Garden itself acts as part of that restraint. Eclipse says that stepping outside may blow a hole in reality, and her latest projection requires Nulli and Harriot to remain with her because she cannot safely operate alone under the restriction. Sealing is therefore a limitation, not a loss of cultivation: she retains physical power, knowledge, authority, and the reputation to deter Dao Lords, but extraordinary perception and unrestricted abilities remain unavailable unless she accepts universe-scale consequences. Universe-linked pending advancement

Eclipse has connected the maturation of the universe to her own next attempt. Her power has reached the natural ceiling the immature universe permits; when she is ready, unsealing and attempting another step would pressure the universe out of the Dawn Era and into its mature phase. The source never names the realm she seeks, never confirms success, and explicitly frames the event as pending. “Dao Queen” is a title used around her, not sufficient evidence of a canonical realm beyond Dao Lord. This link creates both leverage and danger. Beings whose full power is constrained by the immature universe resent waiting, yet forcing Eclipse is treated as an invitation into a trap, even by entities above the Dao realm. Eclipse delays because she wants the Garden perfected so it receives the greatest benefit from the new Era. Her latest appearance still uses a supported projection and does not report unsealing, so no later stage can be inferred from reputation, authority, or universal fear. Primordial Garden engineering

Eclipse built the Garden around a deliberate tradeoff: it will never mature normally or support Dao tribulations, because part of its power recreates a process resembling the universe's birth and continuously produces Primordial energy. That energy supports primordial species, ancient resources, and Dao Lords who could not safely remain in weaker ordinary realms. The system is powerful but bounded. Advanced pets must travel to Ventura's territory for tribulations, and visitors still face the Garden's law-of-the-jungle ecology rather than universal safety. (Chapters 1894–1895 and 1898)

Her realm management favors cycles and adaptation. She periodically redirects the flow of laws so the Garden remains fresh and stable, maintains separate environments for modern species, and uses them as inspiration for new primordial life. She can also preserve a realm from the Primordial Age inside a Bag-Worm and process stolen tribulation energy for further development. None of these feats establishes instant creation without cost: the Garden's permanent ceiling, long preparation, and need to protect its laws are explicit limitations. Karmic webs, knowledge, and authority

Eclipse states that she once crafted webs from karmic strings, and legends connect that web to the fate of the universe. Her true name and disclosed secrets carry enough weight to make an immortal faint, while discussion of prohibited possibilities can draw pressure that she temporarily shields away. The exact combat mechanics of her web remain unshown, so the legends should not be converted into a list of invented attacks. What is demonstrated is precise awareness of precedent, time, realms, and universal strain capable of triggering repeated enlightenment in Lex. (Chapters 1895, 1910, 1923–1925, and 1934)

Her authority supplies capabilities that do not require unsealing. Harriot monitors the Garden and external affairs, the Dao Senate carries out her wishes, and known Dao Lords negotiate access rather than intrude. Eclipse uses that structure to host dangerous guests, control entry, project into an urgent council, and issue a strategic withdrawal recommendation. The arrangement's limit is equally clear: sealing means she is never alone in the latest meeting and depends on trusted agents for information her restricted senses cannot directly gather. • Lex Williams: Eclipse begins by insisting on fair payment for his tribulation energy, then grants supervised access to the Garden and treats his questions as unusually worthwhile. His willingness to ask permission and challenge assumptions turns a dangerous meeting into continuing intellectual and diplomatic exchange.
• Lotus: Eclipse recognizes Lotus as a Primordial Origin Lotus and answers the Realm Seed's question about the Garden's cycling laws. She offers deeper instruction later, treating Lotus as a curious person rather than a passive extension of Lex.
• Harriot: Harriot is Eclipse's poodle-shaped Dao Lord assistant, observer, reporter, and latest companion under the sealed-power restriction. Eclipse relies on his information while freely ignoring or teasing his efforts to manage her behavior.
• Ventura: Eclipse exchanges access to the Garden for access to a realm prepared for her pets' Dao tribulations. Their history includes conflict and apology, yet Ventura still approaches her through formal channels when an unknown universe-level threat demands coordinated action.
• Wu Kong: Eclipse calls Wu Kong a troublesome “little baby,” detects his predatory interest in the Garden, and allows him to attend only under threat of death for causing damage. His fear of her coexists with his determination to steal and grow stronger.
• Nulli: Nulli accompanies Eclipse under the latest seal restrictions and teases her protective strategic advice. Eclipse accepts the familiarity without weakening the authority behind the decision.
