Paul

Paul is a veteran hunter from Fallowmere, husband of Linda, father of Laura, and the early mentor who teaches Kai LuForia how primal-beast hunts are organized.

Biography

From roadside aid to hunting mentorship

Paul finds Kai bloodied outside Hearthwood and chooses to help despite initial suspicion. He brings him through the gate, introduces him to local hunting culture, and offers both information and temporary support. After Kai rescues Paul and George from a monster camp, Paul welcomes him to Fallowmere and teaches him from experience. His pride centers on the Wind Tiger he once slew, but his advice is concrete: hunt one primal beast at a time, turn in proof, and use an overseer as a safeguard. (Chapters 3–5, 20–31)

Paul once adventured as a warrior beside Linda but abandoned the work because of its danger. During Kai's stay, hypnosis makes him accept Kai's control of his home, his wife and daughter's altered relationships, and their pregnancies as ordinary. Paul remains supportive and proud of the expanding family, yet those reactions cannot constitute informed approval because the manipulation directly changes his judgment. (Chapters 25–29)

Appearance and personality

Paul is a human man initially judged to be in his mid-to-late thirties, with blonde hair and blue eyes. He hunts armed and is later seen in shorts and a sleeveless shirt before bed. His height and precise build are not stated. (Chapters 3–5, 25, 29)

He is generous, talkative, proud, and paternal. Paul enjoys retelling his greatest hunt, takes mentoring seriously, and accepts George as a worthy provider for Laura. His concern for safety coexists with nostalgia for adventuring. (Chapters 3–5, 25–31)

Paul awakened mana and formerly worked as a warrior adventurer, but the corpus does not name his spells, mana tier, or weapon technique.
