Linda

Linda is Paul's wife, Laura's mother, and a retired healer in Fallowmere Village. She hosts Kai LuForia while Paul teaches him to hunt primal beasts, after which Kai's hypnosis coerces her into his household.

Biography

Hospitality transformed into coerced kinship

Linda welcomes Paul and her son-in-law George home and thanks Kai for rescuing them from monsters. A capable cook and former adventurer, she supports Paul's decision to teach their guest while firmly reminding him that he promised not to resume dangerous adventuring. Kai secretly hypnotizes Linda and Laura during dinner, making sexual access to them appear normal to the family. Their subsequent intimacy and pregnancies are therefore products of mind manipulation, regardless of the enthusiasm the altered characters express afterward. (Chapters 25–29)

Linda later moves into Kai's expanding Hearthwood household and participates in its domestic life. She welcomes his achievements, grieves when he departs, and remains among the women protected during later attacks. These actions show durable family attachment, but the original coercive intervention is never reversed or acknowledged to her, so the narrative does not establish what relationship she would have chosen without it. Appearance and personality

Linda is an adult human woman with blonde hair, blue eyes, pale skin, a large chest, wide hips, and a rounded figure. She carries a mature, maternal appearance and is shown in a black silk nightgown during the Fallowmere visit. Her height is not stated. (Chapters 25–28)

She is warm, hospitable, protective, and practical. Linda takes pride in feeding guests, assists her daughter, and worries about Paul's safety. Her later devotion to Kai cannot be cleanly separated from his hypnosis. (Chapters 25–29)
