George
George is Paul's son-in-law, Laura's husband, and one of the hunters who bring an injured Kai LuForia to Hearthwood.
Biography
Guide, hunting companion, and compromised household member
George helps Paul lift the apparently injured Kai and supports bringing him into town. He sells horned rabbits at the Wolf Hunters' Guild, introduces Kai to Martha, and explains the risks and opportunities of hunting and adventuring. After Kai later rescues George and Paul from monsters, George welcomes him into the Fallowmere family and eagerly helps with primal-beast preparation. His practical advice includes the use of an overseer and the requirement to confirm each kill separately. (Chapters 3–5, 20–31)
Kai's hypnosis makes George accept the sexual displacement of his marriage as ordinary, including Laura's pregnancy by Kai. George responds by treating the child as family and eventually moves into Kai's household, where he remains willing to defend its women during an attack. His loyalty and courage are consistent with his earlier behavior, but the redefinition of his marriage is explicitly imposed rather than freely negotiated. (Chapters 25–32, 175)
Appearance and personality
George is a young adult human with blonde hair and blue eyes, first estimated to be in his late teens or early twenties. He carries weapons while hunting, but his height, build, and everyday clothing are not further specified. (Chapters 3–5, 25)
He is helpful, sociable, athletic, and enthusiastic about hunting. George readily credits Kai's ability, laughs at Paul's repeated Wind Tiger story, and takes pride in seeing a new hunter attempt primal beasts. (Chapters 3–5, 25–31)
Powers and abilities
George is a licensed hunter whose identification remains plain wood, showing no confirmed primal-beast kill. He uses ordinary weapons, understands animal-hunting procedure, and assists in training Kai. The corpus does not show George awakening mana or name a signature technique. His later willingness to take up arms establishes readiness, not a quantified combat rank. (Chapters 3–5, 25–31, 175)
Relationships
- Paul: George's father-in-law, hunting partner, and mentor figure. (Chapters 3–5, 25–31)
- Laura: George's wife. Kai's hypnosis suppresses their sexual relationship and makes George accept her pregnancy by another man. (Chapters 25–29)
- Kai LuForia: George guides and trains Kai after first helping him reach Hearthwood, then becomes subject to Kai's household hypnosis. (Chapters 3–5, 20–31)
Items
- Hunter's license: George's polished wooden license proves his registration but bears no primal-beast orb. (Chapters 4–5)
- Hunting weapons: He carries weapons in the field, though the corpus does not consistently identify their type. (Chapters 3–5)
