Iris

Iris is a red-haired elven swordswoman who accompanies Barry and Patty against Eridani’s demons. She combines swordplay, fire, and frost-flame. After Kai LuForia empowers and hypnotizes her, she reaches Tier 9 and later co-manages a reformed pirate fort.

Biography

A pragmatic member of the hero party

Iris first appears protecting Patty during the liberation of a demon-occupied village. She fights demons without hesitation and wants their pirate collaborators executed, but accepts Barry’s decision to imprison them because she values his compassion while fearing offenders will exploit it. She supports the hero while recognizing consequences he avoids. (Chapters 260–261)

That concern becomes immediate when a demon lord and its demonic turtle trap the party. Iris is visibly afraid but resets her own dislocated arm, attacks to free Barry, and fights beside Patty until both are severely injured. Kai’s party rescues them, then Kai subjects Barry to an illusion in which he murders Iris and Patty. Iris survives the ordeal distrustful of his cruelty but continues the joint campaign because the demon threat remains larger. (Chapters 263–267)

Coerced empowerment and Tier 9

During Kai’s evaluation, Iris enters a “blue” state: blue flames surround her while ice forms around her limbs. Patty seals Kai in space, letting Iris detonate Frost-Flame Nova inside the enclosure. The opposing elements are difficult to combine and gain force from containment, but Kai’s own space magic freezes both women and ends the exercise. (Chapters 268–269)

Kai then hypnotizes Iris, Patty, and Barry before explaining that sex with him will empower the women and let them transfer hero energy to Barry. Iris accepts under that influence, becomes pregnant, and releases mana at the level of a Tier-9 sorcerer the next day. She and Patty pass part of the converted power into Barry through sustained contact. Her increased strength is persistent, but the sexual relationship and the apparent change in desire begin only after explicit mind control. (Chapters 269–273)

From hero campaign to pirate administration

The empowerment lets Iris fight independently through demon bases and the Spirit Realm. She throws and recalls a flaming sword, burns a path through massed demons, and combines close combat with rings, whips, and jets of fire. Her moral break with Barry becomes explicit during the Sweatii purge: she kills prisoners he has spared and tells him that marked repeat offenders do not deserve another chance. Her loyalty survives, but no longer requires obedience to his code. (Chapters 274, 286, 301, 319–322)

After Kai defeats the Demon King, Iris, Patty, and Cornelia remain at the captured fort with access to Kai’s connected homes. By his return, Iris and Patty have turned it into an orderly business that sends aid to communities harmed by demons. Pregnancy and understaffing leave both exhausted, so Kai brings assistants and insists they rest. (Chapters 328–330, 485–486)

Appearance and personality

Iris is a red-haired elf with a toned, athletic body, visible abdominal muscles, and a curvy figure. She initially wraps her chest and hips with bandages beneath modest clothing to reduce their apparent size, then adopts a more revealing outfit after reaching Tier 9. Her eye color, exact age, height, and normal armor are not stated. When using her strongest elemental technique, her hair and body ignite while ice covers her limbs. (Chapters 260, 268–273)

She is blunt, proud, and more aggressive than Patty. Overwhelming enemies frighten her, yet she relocates an injured shoulder, charges a demon lord, and later kills pirates Barry refuses to execute. Her severity coexists with loyalty: she protects Patty, supports Barry through failure, and overworks herself providing relief rather than treating the pirate group only as profit. (Chapters 260–269, 311, 319–322, 485)

Powers and abilities

Iris is a sorcerer who prefers martial combat. She throws and recalls her sword, coats it in fire, and strikes while casting with her free hand. She can accelerate like a fiery bolt, create fire rings and whips, and erupt flames through a stomp. Stronger enemies can still catch or deflect her weapon. (Chapters 260, 263, 268, 274, 286)

Her “blue” state fuses ice and fire: blue flames surround her, ice covers her limbs, and Frost-Flame Nova releases both elements together. Patty’s sealed space concentrates the blast. The form does not stop Kai’s spatial restraint or overcome his durability, and its duration and mana cost are unstated. (Chapter 269)

Kai’s hero energy becomes Tier-9 mana inside Iris. By maintaining a hand on Barry’s back with Patty for about ten minutes, she can permanently transfer part of that energy into him; the process causes him severe pain while his body assimilates it. Later uses require renewed empowerment from Kai, and the source gives no independent way for Iris to create hero energy herself. (Chapters 269–273, 299–306)

Relationships

  • Patty: Iris’s closest teammate and later administrative partner. They protect one another, coordinate frost-flame with spatial control, undergo Kai’s empowerment together, and run both the pirate fort and its relief program. (Chapters 260–330, 485–486)
  • Barry: Iris respects Barry’s compassion and repeatedly strengthens him, but eventually rejects his refusal to kill proven repeat offenders. She remains supportive after his worldview breaks without surrendering her judgment. (Chapters 260–322)
  • Kai LuForia: Kai rescues and trains Iris, then hypnotizes her before initiating their sexual relationship. The later narrative presents them as affectionate partners expecting a child, but that relationship begins through coercive mental alteration. (Chapters 263–273, 328–330, 485–486)
  • Cornelia: Iris accepts Cornelia’s leadership and helps convert the captured pirate fort into a stable enterprise. (Chapters 319–330, 485)

Items

Iris uses an unnamed sword that she can throw, recall, and ignite. The corpus does not establish whether these effects belong to the weapon or Iris’s own magic, and it provides no origin, formal name, or later custody change. Her body-wrapping bandages are ordinary clothing used to conceal her figure rather than combat equipment. (Chapters 260, 268, 272, 274)
