Deitrick

Deitrick is a prominent Odaly heir who becomes an early rival of Gustav Oslov over Matilda and later an Alliance Corps source for Gustav's allies.

Biography

A family-backed challenge

The Odaly family presents Deitrick, a top-five MBO entrance participant, as a prestigious match for Matilda. Although his relatives push the proposal aggressively, Deitrick recognizes Gustav's strength and uses an immediate duel to probe it rather than assuming an easy victory. His gated air enhancement cannot force Gustav to activate a bloodline, and the public defeat undermines both the courtship plan and his family's claim of superiority. (Chapters 341–346)

Cadet rivalry broken in the arena

At camp, Deitrick outlasts many special-class cadets during Syrrhavo accumulation and receives another formal match with Gustav. He opens more gates, creates air pressure attacks and a suction sphere, and fights with greater output, but Gustav overwhelms him again and leaves him unconscious in the cratered ring. Afterward Deitrick stops issuing challenges, ending the rivalry through hard evidence rather than reconciliation. (Chapters 398–411 and 447)

An Alliance Corps contact

Years later, Deitrick returns as a more mature Alliance Corps member and hosts a welcome party among influential guests. E.E and Aildris exploit his pride and interest in sparring while seeking information, and Deitrick eventually supplies the location “Cell Block Delta-7,” which guides their attempt to find Ria. His latest role is therefore an imperfect but useful source inside the institution. (Chapters 1495–1503)

Appearance and personality

Deitrick has green hair and, later, a handsome, more mature appearance with a stronger presence. He begins proud but not wholly delusional, privately acknowledging Gustav's ability even when relatives boast for him. He is competitive and persistent, yet repeated defeat eventually cools his courtship challenge; his later party shows that pride and appetite for a public spar remain. (Chapters 341–346, 447, and 1495–1496)

Bloodlines and abilities

Deitrick activates successive “gates” by poking points on his neck and torso, causing red lines to spread over his skin and sharply increasing his physical power and air control. He produces air cannons, cutting pressure, wind propulsion, and a suction sphere. Higher gates yield more power but are dangerous enough that his uncle warns him not to pass the third, and even the enhanced state remains below Gustav's combat level. (Chapters 345 and 408–411)

• Gustav Oslov: Deitrick challenges Gustav twice and is decisively defeated both times.
