Stannard Berwick
Stannard Berwick is the ranged member of Tessia's frontline unit, an anxious but observant soldier whose perspective makes the war's danger personal.
Biography
Recorded appearances
Stannard enters the Beast Glades hoping to perform his duty, support his team, and survive long enough to go home. Unlike Darvus's bravado, his internal perspective acknowledges fear early, yet he continues providing ranged support behind teammates whose close-combat roles protect the position his weapon requires. He admires Tessia Eralith while worrying about the risks created by her command decisions, and Arthur's return briefly widens the unit's possibilities. When organized enemies overrun their structure, Stannard stays with the group. The resulting losses teach him that observation and competence cannot guarantee safety, but fear does not cancel loyalty. (Chapters 132–138 and 219–222)
Appearance and personality
Stannard is a young ranged soldier whose narration is anxious, perceptive, and less performatively confident than Darvus. He notices danger and hierarchy closely while continuing to act despite fear. (Chapters 134–138 and 219–220)
Relationships
- Tessia Eralith: Commander he respects and worries about, especially when her decisions increase the unit's exposure. (Chapters 132–138 and 219–222)
- Darvus Clarell and Caria Rede: Frontline teammates who protect the positioning needed for his ranged support. (Chapters 132–138 and 219–220)
Mana, aether, and abilities
Stannard channels mana through a specialized ranged weapon to fire supporting shots. The style depends on distance, positioning, and protection from close-range allies; mass combat can collapse that structure. No personal aether art is shown. (Chapters 132, 134, 138, and 219–220)
Items
- Mana firearm: Stannard's personal ranged weapon; its exact formal name and origin are not established, and it falls outside the generated item scope. (Chapters 132, 134, 138, and 219)
