Darvus Clarell

Darvus Clarell is a young noble soldier in Tessia's unit whose swagger is tested by real battlefield losses.

Biography

Recorded appearances

Darvus joins Tessia Eralith's first command with the confidence of a trained noble and uses teasing bravado to define his place beside Caria Rede and Stannard Berwick. A friendly match with Arthur exposes how far even a capable young fighter remains from a Lance, but Darvus stays with the unit rather than withdrawing from that embarrassment. When organized enemy forces and mass casualties replace routine mana-beast fighting, his swagger gives way to visible fear. He nevertheless keeps fighting beside Tessia, proving that the early arrogance conceals loyalty and vulnerability rather than effortless courage. (Chapters 132–138 and 219–222)

Appearance and personality

Darvus is a confident young axe fighter whose joking self-assurance fades under mass-casualty pressure. He can be arrogant and competitive, but battlefield conduct shows loyalty after fear becomes unavoidable. (Chapters 132–134, 138, and 219–220)

Relationships

  • Tessia Eralith: Unit commander whom Darvus teases in calmer moments and follows when combat becomes desperate. (Chapters 132–138 and 219–222)
  • Caria Rede and Stannard Berwick: Long-familiar teammates whose close and ranged roles complement his axes. (Chapters 132–138 and 219–220)

Mana, aether, and abilities

Darvus reinforces himself for close combat and uses the dual-axe Clarell style. Arthur easily outclasses him in a friendly encounter, and mass battle exposes the limits of a fighter dependent on formation and reach. No aether art is shown. (Chapters 132, 138, and 219–220)

Items

  • Clarell heirloom axes: Differently colored paired weapons inherited for serious combat; they are not within the generated item scope. (Chapters 138 and 219–220)
