The Poison of the Medheives is a highly corrosive, slow-acting poison capable of disrupting a victim's mana connections.

History

Discovery in the treasury

Ren Dover finds the poison in a fingernail-sized flask hidden behind plants in a captured treasury. The dark-blue liquid's description convinces him that ordinary ingestion is impractical because it cannot dissolve in liquids and is extremely corrosive; he instead recognizes its potential as a weapon coating and stores it in his dimensional space. Kevin's poisoned strike

Kevin Voss later takes out the flask during his planned attack on Malik Alshayatin. He pours the liquid onto the Nillinham Dagger, then throws the weapon through the target's mana defense. The trap reverses the combination against Kevin: the same dagger enters his abdomen, and the poison makes his mana increasingly difficult to control before he removes the weapon and drinks a potion. Properties and functions

• The poison is rated S rank and acts gradually after entering the body, severing mana connections until death. Its description states that even an SSS-minus-ranked user is not exempt once it takes effect. (Chapters 657 and 665)
• It is insoluble in liquids and extremely corrosive, preventing the straightforward contamination of food or drink described by Ren. Effective delivery therefore requires it to enter through an injury or another compatible method. (Chapter 657)
• Its mana-disrupting effect is demonstrated on Kevin after he is stabbed: his bodily control deteriorates and manipulating mana becomes extremely difficult. The corpus does not establish a specific antidote or confirm whether the potion he drinks neutralizes the poison itself. (Chapters 666–667)
