Tournament favorite brought down
Vaalyun enters the tournament carrying elven expectations and the assurance of a competitor already at A- rank. Ren publicly disrupts that superiority, while Amanda Stern forfeits rather than contest him directly. In the final, Vaalyun fights Kevin Voss through an extended magical duel, shaping projectile funnels and concentrating extreme cold into a tiny blue wisp. The evenly fought match ends with Kevin victorious and Vaalyun seriously injured, overturning the elf's assumed place at the top. (Chapters 405–459)
Appearance and personality
Vaalyun is delicately handsome, with long silver hair and the refined features associated with elves. He is haughty and highly conscious of racial prestige, remaining composed under ordinary scrutiny but reacting poorly when Ren's words puncture the status he takes for granted. (Chapters 405–459)
Powers and abilities
An A-rank caster, Vaalyun forms multiple magic circles into sharp mana funnels that fire concentrated projectiles. He can also compress blue energy into a minute wisp of severe cold, leaving ice along its path. His precise, high-output magic lets him contest Kevin closely, but it cannot secure the final exchange.
