Everblood

Everblood is a Baron demon who turns Ren's fear and Matthew's grievance into long-running experiments in despair.

Biography

Engineering despair

Everblood's clone nearly kills Ren in a dungeon, beginning an obsession with the human's resistance. He manipulates Angelica and the Matriarch, sabotages recovery through a demon fruit, murders Avelon for his core, and cultivates Matthew as a weapon inside the Monolith. Much later he helps spring Hemlock's trap on Kevin, but Kevin anticipates the betrayal, extracts Everblood's core, and detonates it to trigger the Monolith's contractual penalty. (Chapters 30–34, 113–132, 189–235, 665–667)

Appearance and personality

Everblood is a two-meter black humanoid demon with bat-like wings, red eyes, long fingers, and breath hot enough to burn skin. He laughs compulsively at fear and betrayal, treating despair as entertainment even when his own death is certain. (Chapters 31, 114, 132, 667)

Powers and abilities

As a Baron risen through extensive killing, Everblood wields crushing killing intent, flight, demonic regeneration, shapeshifting or illusion-assisted impersonation, and core extraction. His early clone can survive a heart thrust, but his true body remains vulnerable when Kevin immobilizes him and removes the core. (Chapters 31, 114, 189, 666–667)
