Biography

Evaluating a King Contender

Queen Primordium enters Shang's story as the Mage King above Lucin, whose Contender Department belongs to her Reinforcement Department. Lucin brings Shang before her because his fivefold Spirit Sense exceeds the ordinary framework for a non-Mage. She questions him for hours about his training, tests his claims against the world's resonance, and recognizes that his results come from sustained work rather than an invented explanation. Her interest is institutional as well as intellectual: her department exists to produce future Thunders and Mage Kings, so an unprecedented contender must be evaluated without wasting the Manor's resources. (Chapters 698–700)

Her inspection also identifies two alterations to Shang's soul. She explains that Abomination essence has erased the part defining his eyes rather than merely injuring it, and that a separate change has weakened the priority connection by which his body strengthens his mind. Because she knows only the level-one Concept of Life and cannot perform the required Change, she takes him to Wester. Together they raise the political question to the Lightning Emperor, obtain approval to treat Shang as a King Contender, and supervise a painful soul operation that removes the restriction at the permanent cost of constant death anxiety. Her willingness to escalate the case turns an anomaly into an official Lightning Manor investment. (Chapters 700–707)

Queen Primordium continues to judge when intervention would help and when it would obstruct Shang. When his self-inflicted suffering creates a small Death Pit, she tells Lucin that the law against creating such pits applies to harming others and orders observation rather than interruption. After Shang spends his remaining momentum to strengthen his body and becomes unable to advance, she immediately brings him back to Wester; their combined diagnosis establishes that his increased metaphysical “weight” requires more than one level-three Concept, with Purgatory offering a possible route. These decisions develop her from examiner into the senior figure actively solving the constraints of Shang's emerging path. (Chapters 734–739)

Death Mana and the next warrior path

Once Shang receives exceptional treatment, Queen Primordium privately introduces the Lightning Manor's Mage Kings and offers herself as a teacher while candidly admitting that her specialties may not fit him. Shang ultimately chooses her because he wants control of his training, and she accepts even though she believes another teacher could offer him a healthier life. She first makes the student explain every stage of warrior development, then uses her older and broader knowledge to derive possible continuations: soul infusion into a weapon, an advanced Weapon Master route involving Warping and Gathering, and ways to unite multiple Sword States. She also recognizes where theory outruns evidence and chooses to widen Shang's options instead of prescribing a path that might deform his unusual foundation. (Chapters 757–763)

When Shang asks how to incorporate Purgatory, Queen Primordium does not pretend to possess expertise she lacks. She invokes a Mage King's privilege to request restricted Death-Concept texts from the Lightning Emperor, reads and digests the collection over several years, and then teaches Shang the mechanics she can support: Death Mana consumes life energy, barely moves on its own, is dangerous to store in a mind, and normally requires Life knowledge or a natural Death Affinity for practical combat use. She identifies Shang's own Death Concepts as a lawful way to generate the otherwise ethically restricted Mana, converting archival study into a concrete extension of his techniques. Her teaching also demonstrates the scale and limits of her established power. She links portals so that her Spirit Sense can begin hundreds of thousands of kilometers away and sends Shang across the Empire almost instantly, yet she acknowledges that rival Empires likely possess defenses against such observation. In her own chamber, Space, Time, and Gravity shape portals, deep ocean connections, and sensory barriers; Death Mana remains a blind spot because she cannot exclude a force she does not sufficiently understand. That combination of immense reach and explicit limitation defines her final development as Shang's teacher: formidable enough to open new routes, disciplined enough to separate knowledge from speculation. A murder that destabilizes the Empires

The God later enters Queen Primordium's private room without being perceived and suppresses her Mana, Spirit Sense, and access to space. He orders Shang to strike her, amplifies those blows far beyond Shang's normal power, and keeps her from escaping. Queen Primordium cannot understand who is attacking or why; after trying to flee and call for help, she is beaten to death over roughly half an hour. Although Shang delivers the physical blows, he acts under an explicit threat from a being who has just killed Lucin and can kill him at will. The God states that he chose the two deaths because their support made Shang's progress too secure and predictable. (Chapters 784–786)

Her death becomes a geopolitical weapon precisely because no ordinary culprit can be found. Wester reports that Vana was assassinated inside her room, while the Lightning Emperor concludes that only an outside Emperor's support could have bypassed the Manor's security. The Empress of Death, Kali, is publicly blamed; the Lightning Emperor retaliates against the Judgment Palace, killing two Mage Kings, and the confrontation also leads to the death of the Emperor of Life. The resulting settlement restores open war between the Empires, making Queen Primordium's murder the false premise for decades of conflict rather than an isolated loss. (Chapters 803–817)

The private truth emerges only when Shang later tells the Lightning Emperor that the God killed Lucin and forced him to kill Queen Primordium. Gregorio recognizes that Kali had done nothing and that the deaths and war grew from a manufactured misunderstanding, but that knowledge does not undo the public record. Even near the final imperial struggle, other Emperors still remember the crisis as beginning with Kali killing Queen Primordium. Her posthumous importance therefore lies in the contrast between fact and political memory: the murder removes Shang's most capable teacher and gives the God a durable mechanism for destabilizing every major power. Appearance and personality

Queen Primordium has long azure hair and an appearance associated with a natural Water Affinity, but she wears long, loose blue robes that cover almost her entire body. She normally blocks Spirit Sense around herself and reacts with annoyance when Shang comments on her beauty, making her preference for privacy explicit. Her private chamber uses an azure color scheme, cushions, deep portal-linked ponds, and spatial effects rather than the austere void perceived from outside. (Chapters 699, 757–758)

Her speech is controlled, flat, and professional, yet not indifferent. She values work, evidence, efficient use of institutional resources, and personal autonomy. She can spend years mastering restricted material for a student, but she will also refuse to overstate a theory or impose a route she cannot validate. Her judgments of the other Mage Kings are frank, sometimes severe, and grounded in contribution as much as raw strength. Even when she disagrees with Shang's rejection of companionship, she accepts that his proven methods give him authority over his own life. (Chapters 699, 757–764)

Abilities and progression

Queen Primordium is an established Mage King specializing in Space, Time, and Gravity. She can create living-scale portals with the level-five Space Concept Tearing, chain portals to extend perception and travel across the Lightning Manor's territory, connect her room to distant ocean spaces, and manipulate distance and depth. Her concealed chamber also blocks ordinary Spirit Sense and many forms of Mana. These applications provide mobility, privacy, surveillance, and environmental control, but the text notes that other Empires likely have countermeasures and shows that Death Mana can pass where her understanding is insufficient to block it. Her Mage King connection to the world lets her test whether statements resonate with reality. She also possesses detailed knowledge of anatomy, souls, and Life Mana: by touch she diagnoses conceptual erasure caused by Abomination essence and distinguishes it from a repairable soul connection. Her limitation is explicit—she knows the level-one Concept of Life but not the level-two Concept Change—so she can identify Shang's restriction but needs Wester to alter it. Her water shaping can produce anatomically precise models, though she cannot create a soul and therefore cannot make them living beings. (Chapters 699–700 and 758)

As a researcher and teacher, she rapidly reconstructs warrior and Weapon Master development from Shang's account, proposes soul infusion and World Gathering applications, and converts restricted Death scholarship into usable instruction. Her explanation covers the origin, storage, movement, danger, and ethical scarcity of Death Mana as well as its interaction with Life and Darkness. This expertise is acquired study, not evidence that she has a natural Death Affinity; her demonstrated native-looking Water association and combat specialties remain distinct from the Death material she studies for Shang. Relationships

Shang

Queen Primordium begins as Shang's evaluator and becomes his chosen teacher. She secures his King Contender treatment, directs him toward Wester when her own Life knowledge is insufficient, and later builds theoretical routes for his warrior path while respecting his autonomy. The relationship is one of the strongest sources of stability and informed support in Shang's life, which is why the God deliberately destroys it. Shang does not want to kill her, but his emotional detachment means that after being coerced he focuses chiefly on survival and concealment. (Chapters 699–765 and 784–787)

Wester

Queen Primordium and Wester are old peers who address each other by their personal names and occupy the top tier of the Lightning Manor's Mage Kings. She relies on his higher Life-Concept knowledge and access to the Lightning Emperor, while he relies on her assessment of contenders and her ability to implement secrecy and training arrangements. She describes their relative combat ranking as unsettled because they have not fought in a long time. After her death, Wester's controlled professionalism briefly gives way to rage before he reports the assassination and assumes interim authority. (Chapters 700–706, 757–758, and 804–815)

Lucin

Lucin leads the Contender Department beneath Queen Primordium's Reinforcement Department. She trusts his work but retains direct authority over Shang's classification, instructing Lucin to treat Shang as a King Contender and to protect the secret of his Spirit Sense. Their linked support structure makes them the two people with the most operational knowledge of Shang's development. The God kills Lucin immediately before Queen Primordium, eliminating both layers of that protection in a single intervention. (Chapters 698–707 and 784)

Gregorio and Kali

Gregorio, the Lightning Emperor, approves Queen Primordium's exceptional investment in Shang and supplies the restricted Death books she requests. After her murder, he trusts Wester's innocence and attacks Kali's Judgment Palace on the mistaken belief that an outside Emperor enabled the killing. Kali is therefore Queen Primordium's alleged assassin in the public history, not her actual killer; Gregorio later learns that the accusation was false. (Chapters 701–765, 806–817, and 869)
