Biography

Recruiter and handler

Lucin meets Shang as the Thunder responsible for the Lightning Manor's secret Contender Department. Initially casual and amused by Shang's concern with hierarchy, he becomes serious when Shang reveals knowledge of the King Contenders and a fivefold Spirit Sense. Lucin verifies the Spirit Sense with thousands of metal pieces, weighs the danger of nurturing a potential Warrior King against the Manor's principles, and decides the matter is too consequential for him alone, taking Shang to Queen Primordium. (Chapters 695–699)

After the Custodian's examination, Queen Primordium orders Shang treated as a King Contender and leaves Lucin to integrate him as a Cloud. Lucin responds as an experienced mentor rather than merely an administrator: he recognizes that an exceptional student should be supported in his chosen direction, recalls with pride that he once trained the Starlight Queen, and accepts responsibility for explaining Shang's new place in the Contender Department. Training Shang as a Contender

Lucin first introduces the Hibye's deliberately competitive structure, including its assassination risks, evidentiary rules, protected territory, communication system, and century-based training credits. He refuses Shang permission to preemptively kill suspicious rivals because the Manor presumes innocence, but explains the lawful option of hiring a Bolt as protection. This guidance frames his mentorship as both practical support and enforcement of a system whose dangers he openly admits. (Chapters 708–711)

Lucin then administers the public life-and-death challenges that test whether Shang belongs among the Clouds. He starts the matches, observes details weaker spectators cannot follow, formally declares Shang's victories over Erel and Cindy, and gives each recovery interval needed before the next duel. When Rowan withdraws rather than fight, Lucin processes the surrender of Cloud status and later pays Shang the resulting reward, establishing Shang's place while preserving the Contender Department's rules. Shang's training forces Lucin to balance noninterference with protection. Because assassination is forbidden but self-chosen danger is not, Lucin creates an Isolation Barrier that shields Shang from outside access without preventing his Furnace Pill regimen. He watches Shang's accumulating pain with pity, consults Queen Primordium when the barrier becomes a self-made Death Pit, and reports the Concepts Shang comprehends rather than interrupting him. This measured supervision lets Shang finish his experiment while preserving the Manor's rules. (Chapters 729–736)

Crisis, loyalty, and death

When Shang accidentally consumes his breakthrough momentum, Lucin recognizes the fatal implication, pulls him out of shock, and immediately brings him to Queen Primordium for a possible solution. He then monitors Shang's near-death effort and eventual breakthrough, escorts him back to Queen Primordium when the resulting sixfold Spirit Sense demands higher authority, and accepts the duty of keeping the true extent of Shang's power secret. (Chapters 737–748)

Lucin continues protecting both Shang and the Lightning Manor after that crisis. When Shang's later experiments visibly consume his life, Lucin contacts Queen Primordium, constructs another Isolation Barrier, and supplies the watching Bolts with a plausible cover story. His intervention does not halt Shang's dangerous work; it conceals the experiment and controls its effect on the department, repeatedly placing its administrative strain on Lucin. (Chapters 764–766)

His loyalty also appears in how he applies competition rules. Lucin organizes the Wilderness Hunt and its supervision, then refuses to stop Shang from breaking a trial barrier with his own power because doing so would punish strength. He personally oversees the aftermath, obtains favorable value for the participants' spoils, and completes Shang's requested purchase despite his misgivings. Years later, the God appears beside him without warning and destroys his head with one punch; Lucin receives no chance to perceive, resist, or activate a defense, and the department loses the handler who knew and concealed most of Shang's capabilities. Appearance and personality

Lucin appears as a tall, handsome young man with long silver hair, wearing a simple silver shirt and trousers. His relaxed posture and casual clothing contrast with an exceptionally grand aura that seems fused with the surrounding world. This combination immediately marks him as both approachable in manner and vastly beyond ordinary Mage Lords in power. (Chapter 695)

He is conversational, humorous, and prone to digressions, but takes institutional duty seriously when secrets or lives are at stake. Lucin believes in presuming innocence, enforcing rules consistently, and supporting talent without controlling every decision. His repeated sighs, concern, and pity toward Shang show genuine empathy, while his willingness to let Clouds accept self-chosen danger reveals the hard boundary of that care: he protects them from rule-breakers, not from the costs of their own pursuit of power. Abilities and progression

Lucin is a Peak Mage Lord and a Thunder with a fourfold Spirit Sense. Since an ordinary Mage Lord's Spirit Sense covers about 10,000 kilometers in radius, his reaches roughly 40,000 kilometers, allowing him to observe most of the Hibye from its center and deter external attacks or covert violence. This surveillance is powerful but not omniscient: the full territory exceeds his coverage, and specialized barriers, isolation, or an opponent entirely beyond his perception can still defeat its protective purpose. His recurring movement technique is an Empire Spell that transforms him into a huge lightning bolt and carries him across millions of kilometers at extreme speed. He also uses a Transportation Plate to move Shang and employs complex spatial movement inside the Lightning Manor. These applications make him an effective recruiter and emergency escort, but they do not make his reactions absolute; the God transports himself and Shang directly beside a distracted Lucin and kills him before Lucin notices either arrival. Lucin's most developed on-page utility magic is barrier control. His Isolation Barriers block sight and passage for everyone except himself, sheltering Shang from assassination and later hiding dangerous training from the other Bolts. They can withstand Shang's ordinary attacks, but Death Mana adheres to one barrier and slowly consumes its Mana rather than being immediately dispersed, demonstrating a specific interaction that Lucin monitors instead of fully negating. He also administers Contender duels and safely converts released ice back into ambient Mana after combat. (Chapters 721–727, 730, and 766)

The corpus establishes Lucin as a former exceptional Contender trainer whose own fourfold Spirit Sense and long service culminated in the office of Thunder. It does not show a formal Realm breakthrough or Concept acquisition for him within scope, and Lucin himself accepts that he has effectively reached his ceiling and will eventually die of age. • Shang: Lucin recruits, evaluates, trains, supervises, protects, and repeatedly advocates upward for Shang. Their bond remains professional—Shang later admits no emotional connection—but Lucin's knowledge and cover stories are important enough that his death immediately worsens Shang's security.
