Biography

King Skythunder and the academy's sponsor

Agon rules the Skythunder Kingdom as an Archmage whose respect is earned through strength and conviction rather than ceremony. When the Warrior's Academy delegation arrives, he tests its members personally: Shang obeys an order to strike him at full power, while a frightened warrior who cannot commit to the same order is killed. Agon then challenges George without relying on ordinary spellcasting, accepts defeat when George's experience overcomes his superior body, and acknowledges that the warrior path has merit. (Chapters 275–278)

That interest becomes material support when George presents Bloodline Infusion before a hostile Council. Agon permits the Procedure after hearing its mechanics and competing objections, explicitly praises Jerald for backing George, and orders Jerald to keep him informed. Although he provides no funding, his decree makes direct obstruction harder. Later, when Jerald and Shang present the warrior Star Map, Agon treats its disruptive potential as an opportunity, verifies the strange account through the imperial hierarchy, and carries out the order that spreads both warrior and Mage Star Maps across Area 23. Warrior king and imperial agent

Agon's apparently absolute kingship is ultimately an imperial assignment. Near the end of his term as Area 23's Assistant Supervisor, he lets Jerald's conflict with the Council proceed and recognizes the new order after Jerald wins. He celebrates among warriors through rough brawls rather than courtly ritual, then formally promotes Jerald to Advisor and Shang to Duke, placing responsibility for the kingdom's defense in their hands while preparing to leave the Development Area. (Chapters 475–477 and 512–514)

Before departing, Agon explains that he was born a barbarian in the Grandmountain Kingdom and had once been denied a fair opportunity to grow, a history that underlies his belief that people deserve a chance to pursue power. His exit is concealed behind the staged death of Area 23's kings, but he also tells Jerald that Shang is the Child of Calamity. That disclosure transforms Agon from a sponsor into the source of a lasting breach: Jerald later confronts Shang over the danger posed by the Abominations, and their relationship ends in violence. Return to Shang's side

Agon returns during the imperial war as a Peak Sixth Realm leader with the combined aura of an Ancestral Mage and a warrior. Shang immediately confronts him about revealing the secret, and Agon admits it without apology. Despite their hostility, Agon incorporates Shang into his mission, outlines a territorial advance followed by defense, gives him the communication access needed to coordinate under the Starlight Queen, and assigns personnel around his defensive role. Their cooperation is therefore practical, not reconciliatory. (Chapters 847–848)

The unresolved secret decides Agon's fate when Gregorio selects him as a second candidate for a tournament offering a path to the Mage King Realm. Shang identifies Agon's knowledge in front of Gregorio and erases him with the Domain of Entropy before he can respond. Agon had anticipated such a death: a signal and buried Magic Circle were prepared to transmit information, but Gregorio blocks the signal, destroys the circle, and eliminates its intended contacts. Appearance and personality

As King Skythunder, Agon appears as a tall, heavily muscled, tanned man with silver hair, an apparently young face, a bare upper body, and simple white trousers. His later appearance has white hair, formfitting purple plate armor, and a spear whose jagged head resembles lightning. Both presentations emphasize direct physical power rather than the robes and distance associated with conventional Mages. (Chapters 276–277 and 847)

Agon is casual, irreverent toward formality, and intensely interested in contests that reveal courage or strength. He can be brutally unforgiving toward weakness, yet he accepts his own losses with evident enjoyment and revises his judgment when George demonstrates the warrior path's value. His support for opportunity grows from his barbarian origins, while his calculated warning about Shang and prepared death failsafes show that this openness coexists with political caution and a willingness to act against perceived global danger. Abilities and progression

Agon is a Mage with Wind and Lightning Affinities, but his battle style also reflects a barbarian upbringing and a body strengthened by his powerful mind. While restricting himself against George, his physical body is judged comparable to that of a Peak True Path Stage warrior; he fights through exceptional instinct, then uses a small lightning discharge to destroy a ranged attack and water manipulation to heal his injuries. His limitation in that exchange is technical experience: George and later Mervin can defeat him in physical contests despite Agon's stronger body. (Chapters 275, 278, and 514)

During his Area 23 tenure, Agon is a Late Archmage who knows two level-three Concepts and credits the Development Area's otherwise unclaimed resources with accelerating his comprehension. The later account of his aptitude states that he had two level-one Concepts before High Mage, nearly three before Archmage, and reached three level-three Concepts while serving as Assistant Supervisor, enough to earn cultivation as a Boltling. These are established milestones, but the corpus does not dramatize the formal breakthroughs between them. (Chapters 512–513 and 720)

By his wartime return, Agon is at the Peak Sixth Realm, leads other imperial combatants, and uses a spear marked like a Focus while carrying both Mage and warrior qualities in his aura. He is initially near a fourfold Spirit Sense and later completes it as a Thunder. Near his death he is also close to comprehending a level-six Concept; Gregorio judges that tournament success could have let him become a fivefold-spirit-sense Mage King. His remaining longevity and the uncertainty of that Concept make the tournament a risk rather than a guaranteed promotion. (Chapters 847–848 and 957)

Relationships

• Shang: Agon first tests and later sponsors Shang's world, helps legitimate warrior development, and eventually fights beside him. By telling Jerald that Shang is the Child of Calamity, however, he becomes a hidden threat in Shang's eyes; Shang kills him once Gregorio can contain Agon's prepared disclosure. (Chapters 277–280, 534, 847, and 957)
• Jerald: Agon respects Jerald's initiative, permits his revolution, promotes him, and hands him practical control of the Skythunder Kingdom. He also burdens Jerald with the Child of Calamity secret, contributing directly to Jerald's fatal confrontation with Shang. (Chapters 280, 475–477, 514, and 534–548)
• George: George defeats Agon in a body-focused fight and persuades him through demonstrated skill that the warrior path deserves institutional room to grow. Agon's approval protects George's Bloodline Infusion from immediate prohibition. (Chapters 278–280)
• Gregorio: Gregorio selects Agon, a disciple of Wester, as the Lightning Manor's second tournament candidate. After Shang kills Agon, Gregorio neutralizes his failsafes and later enters the tournament with only one candidate. (Chapters 957 and 961)
