Zhang Ze Hu

Zhang Ze Hu, called Tiger by his squadmates, is an advanced-Warrior fighter of the Tiger Fang Squad and the uncle of Zhang Hao Bai. His attempt to use fighter status to protect his family develops into a lethal feud with Luo Feng and the Fire Hammer Squad.

Biography

Defending Zhang Hao Bai

Zhang Ze Hu first enters the dispute after Zhang Hao Bai's actions bring legal and financial danger to the Zhang family. He expects his veteran status to pressure the newly certified Luo Feng, but the rookie refuses to yield. Under Wu Tong's mediation, Zhang Ze Hu pays thirty million yuan to settle the case. He treats the payment as humiliation rather than closure and continues resenting the younger fighter. (Chapters 21 and 37–38)

The Tiger Fang ambush

While recovering from wilderness injuries, Zhang Ze Hu encounters Luo Feng again and later joins his squad's plan against Fire Hammer. As an advanced Warrior carrying a giant machete, he identifies the rival team through binoculars and specifically requests that its gunner kill Luo Feng; a second armor-piercing shot targets Gao Feng. The ambush fails to kill either target but costs Zhang Ke an arm, converting a personal grudge into a blood feud between squads. (Chapters 41–50)

Pursuit and death in City 003

Zhang Ze Hu keeps seeking chances to eliminate Luo Feng and openly displays his hatred during later encounters. In City 003, Luo Feng waits until Tiger and gunner Li Xiao are isolated in a liquor store. Two spirit-controlled throwing knives sever Zhang Ze Hu's arm and throat before he can warn the others. He dies after recognizing that the rookie he despised is a spirit reader, while Luo Feng stages the room as a monster attack to conceal the killing. (Chapters 53–77)

Appearance and personality

Zhang Ze Hu is a burly fighter who carries a gigantic machete; one early scene finds him wrapped in bloody bandages while recovering at a resupply base. He is proud, coarse, and vindictive, interpreting compensation as lost face and repeatedly underestimating Luo Feng. He nevertheless shows ordinary squad discipline, obeying stronger leaders during joint operations. (Chapters 38, 41, 48, 53–55, and 74–77)

Abilities and progression

Zhang Ze Hu is explicitly an advanced Warrior, close but not equal to Warlord level. He is an experienced wilderness fighter, uses a heavy machete, and recognizes the danger posed by commander-class monsters. His direct combat ability is not enough to react to Luo Feng's short-range spirit-controlled knives; the narrative notes that an advanced Warlord might have had a chance where Zhang Ze Hu did not. (Chapters 43–48 and 77)

His greater threat comes from squad tactics: reconnaissance, coordinated sniper fire, and willingness to ambush human rivals amid monster territory. (Chapters 48–50 and 62–77)
