Melia
Melia Bloodheart is a Vampire noble, Nux's wife, and one of ExceedoGenesis's strongest large-scale combatants. She first approaches Nux as an ambitious clan founder determined to build a power separate from her family, but honors a wager by joining his clan after losing to him. Years of comparing herself with her exceptional sister-wives undermine that confidence until she asks Aeliana to train her. The resulting Law of Blood Sovereignty turns her racial control of blood into instant regeneration, marking, teleportation, enslavement, blood armies, and eventually an Absolute domain in which blood itself obeys her.
Biography
A Bloodheart determined to rule for herself
Melia is introduced by reputation as the youngest daughter of Orpheus, head of the Bloodheart Duke House. She has the wealth and protection of one of the Blood Kingdom's greatest families, but that security does not satisfy her. Her elder brother Lazarus is centuries ahead of her and expected to inherit the house, while Melia wants to rule rather than accept influence beneath someone else's succession. Her proposed solution is to leave the family's support behind and create a clan capable of one day competing with the Bloodhearts. (Chapters 745 and 750)
After watching Nux and his wives hunt for three months, Melia invites them into the Blood Kingdom and offers them the first places in her future clan. She is direct about both the weakness of her current position and the scale of her ambition: the clan has no registration, resources, or outside protection, but she promises partnership rather than subordination and argues that greatness cannot be achieved by remaining safely indebted to an established power. Her refusal to disguise the risk reflects her dislike of noble manipulation and her belief that leadership must be chosen with open eyes. (Chapters 747 and 750)
Nux counters with a wager: a duel whose loser joins the winner's clan. Melia accepts under Orpheus's observation, trusting her Great Sage cultivation against an Emperor. During the fight she studies Nux's abilities, spreads blood to create a battlefield advantage, and adjusts rather than charging blindly, but his concealment, Complete Cultivation, and unconventional spells defeat her. When Nux offers to call the result a draw, Melia refuses the escape. She made the terms and lost, so she joins his clan despite the loss of the independent project around which she had built her future. (Chapters 753 and 758–762)
The defeat changes the route to her goal without extinguishing the goal itself. Melia is welcomed by Nux's wives as a sister and leaves the Bloodheart estate with them, though part of her reluctance to depart is an unspoken desire to remain near the family she loves. Her first major choice in ExceedoGenesis is therefore an act of integrity: she gives up the position of founder because honoring her word matters more than preserving pride, then redirects her ambition into making the new clan powerful. (Chapters 763 and 774)
From clan partner to wife
Melia enters ExceedoGenesis as a serious ally rather than an immediate romantic partner. She helps the family obtain training and support from Bloodheart experts, contributes her knowledge of Yrniel, and remains conscious of the political weight attached to her name. Nux's interest is clear, but Melia's normally stoic manner makes his direct teasing and Incubus form disorienting. During the battle against Destiny, his public declaration that he will make her his forces her to confront an attachment that had developed alongside their partnership. (Chapters 813, 825, and 848–849)
Their eventual marriage is Melia's choice rather than a treaty between houses. Orpheus defends the Bloodheart tradition of letting children choose sacred bonds, while the wedding's political spectacle exposes ExceedoGenesis to Yrniel's ruling powers. Melia does not abandon the Bloodhearts by becoming a Leander: her parents train Nux, the household supports her wedding, and her old family becomes part of the network around the clan. At the same time, she accepts a shared marriage and a clan whose center is Nux rather than herself, a significant adjustment for a woman who once defined freedom as being the ruler. (Chapters 968–971)
Melia proves that this adjustment is loyalty rather than surrender. When Nux privately suspects that information may have leaked through her mother, he hides the suspicion because he does not want to force Melia to choose between husband and family. Melia's own later behavior shows the line she would draw: when Aeliana tests her by demanding Nux's secrets as payment for training, Melia refuses instantly, even though she desperately wants the help. She will accept discipline and debt, but not advancement purchased by endangering her husband or sisters. (Chapters 1053 and 1394)
Inferiority and the decision to begin again
Life among Nux's wives erodes the effortless confidence Melia once carried as a Bloodheart prodigy. She initially regards some of their advancement as borrowed through dual cultivation, but repeated Trials, unprecedented bloodlines, and rapidly formed Laws prove that they are exceptional in ways she cannot dismiss. Her own bloodline, once the highest among them, becomes the lowest, and one sister after another finds a Law while she remains stuck. Felberta's recognition by a Progenitor removes the last comparison by which Melia had privately reassured herself. (Chapter 1393)
Melia eventually admits that jealousy and constant comparison have cost her the qualities that once defined her: a clear goal, confidence, and decisive action. She does not ask Nux to reassure her or blame the women around her. Instead, she approaches Aeliana, asks to become her disciple, and states that she refuses to form a Law beneath her potential. Her new target is deliberately audacious—surpass Nux himself—because she needs an ambition that measures her against her best possible self rather than against every sister's latest achievement. (Chapters 1393–1394)
Aeliana tests whether that ambition outweighs loyalty and accepts Melia only after she refuses to reveal family secrets. The arrangement leaves Melia owing a future favor that cannot harm Nux or her sisters. Under Aeliana's strict supervision, Melia recovers the discipline she had lost, forms the Law of Blood Sovereignty, and reaches Saint before later advancing to Divine. The Law is not simply a reward for finding a teacher; it is the expression of her restored belief that she should command the element at the heart of her race rather than remain diminished by comparison. (Chapters 1394–1395, 1455–1456, and 1489)
Becoming the Blood Sovereign
Melia's early use of the Law establishes a one-woman-army design. She can heal instantly when enough blood is available, create blood weapons, gain temporary strength from absorbed enemy blood, enslave targets, leave teleportation marks, and manipulate blood at reduced energy cost. Her first battlefield army is limited: she restores dead soldiers as Blood Soldiers, but without their will or Law of Self they retain less than half their former strength. Combined with Ember's Law and Nux's cancellation of hostile auras, however, those imperfect soldiers overwhelm a much larger force. (Chapters 1456 and 1531–1532)
By the Sovereign stage, war itself supplies the conditions under which Melia grows fastest. She begins a major battle disadvantaged against an enemy Sovereign and needs Ember's strengthening Law, but after her first kill she sends blood into the corpse and turns it into a puppet. Each victory adds another fighter, producing a compounding army of Sovereigns and lesser troops. Within a ten-kilometer radius—more than three hundred square kilometers—she controls airborne and ground blood, attacks and binds enemies, forms shields, and teleports among marks placed throughout the battlefield. (Chapter 1840)
Her regeneration makes ordinary attrition ineffective in that environment. Severed limbs, a pierced heart, decapitation, and even being cut in half are restored in milliseconds as surrounding blood enters her body. The effect is conditional rather than universal immortality: the demonstration explicitly depends on an abundant supply of blood, and her early disadvantage shows that she does not begin every encounter with an unbeatable domain or army. Once a battlefield is saturated, however, casualties become resources and enemy attempts to overwhelm her accelerate her growth. (Chapter 1840)
After reaching Transcendent, her Law evolves into the Law of Absolute Blood Sovereignty. Her breakthrough transforms an entire dead world into a crimson domain whose terrain, structures, mist, clothing, and throne are blood under her control. Within it she can bind, poison, weaken, shield, or pierce targets through the substance around them, and the Absolute status makes overpowering the domain extremely difficult. Only weeks after the breakthrough, she defeats multiple Aurendor Transcendents. The corpus still does not establish that she controls blood absolutely outside every prepared domain or against every higher-phase being; the demonstrated supremacy is tied to her realm and to blood being present. (Chapter 2062)
Strategist, mother, and Bloodheart daughter
Melia's later importance is not confined to open war. She helps Amaya, Shadow, and Aeliana build an intelligence network by blood-enslaving agents across the Universe, many of whom do not know that they are sources. During the crisis around Gracevale, she captures the Greenmarch patriarch's daughter rather than killing her because she anticipates that Nux will want a living memory witness. These actions show the clan founder's old strategic instinct maturing inside a team: Melia no longer needs to be its sole ruler to take initiative that changes its options. (Chapters 2149–2151 and 2174)
She also continues to act as Aeliana's disciple and emotional counterpart. Their shared Vampire nature begins as the reason Melia seeks her out, but the relationship persists through family conflicts and campaigns. Aeliana recognizes Melia's loneliness beneath being loved, while Melia remains willing to challenge plans that may endanger Azriel or the family. The mentorship gives both women a bond that is not reducible to Nux, even as he remains central to their lives. (Chapters 1394–1395 and 2224)
Melia later becomes mother to Noctis, a calm, observant son who inherits blood-based control and much of her composed manner. Nux's apparent death leaves Melia motionless with grief, showing that her restored strength has not made her attachment less vulnerable. After his return, she takes Noctis back to the Bloodheart estate. Thousands of years have made her unrecognizable to the guards, but the reserve disappears when she sees Ambrosia and Lazarus; she embraces them, introduces her son, and reunites the family she never stopped valuing with the family she chose. (Chapters 2304–2305, 2388, and 2407–2408)
Appearance and personality
Melia is introduced as a beautiful Vampire with long raven hair, hypnotic blood-red eyes, pale skin, slightly elongated ears, and two sharp fangs. She has a pronounced hourglass figure and initially wears a black dress that emphasizes the controlled, noble impression created by her posture and wine glass. Her face is usually stoic, with thin eyebrows, a small nose, and soft pink lips; her features and restrained expression strongly resemble Orpheus. (Chapters 750 and 753)
At Transcendent, her appearance becomes integrated with her Absolute domain. She sits on a twenty-five-meter blood throne wearing a dress woven from blood, with a crown of blood thorns floating above her. Her black hair and pale face remain recognizable, but the moving crimson world presents her as a sovereign presence rather than merely a noble Vampire. (Chapter 2062)
Melia is direct, proud, disciplined, and slow to display emotion. She dislikes manipulative court games and would rather state a harsh condition than conceal it, but she is not tactically naïve: her duel with Nux and later campaigns show patience, observation, and willingness to exploit terrain. Her pride can become corrosive when comparison turns it inward. The crucial change in her personality is learning to use ambition as direction rather than as proof that someone else's success diminishes her. With Nux, her parents, brother, and son, the formality repeatedly gives way to embarrassment, affection, and rare open joy. (Chapters 750, 758, 848, 1393–1395, and 2407–2408)
Abilities and cultivation
Melia's powers combine an innate Vampire bloodline, complete mana-and-body cultivation, and a Law that elevates racial blood control into sovereign authority. Her strongest states depend heavily on available blood and on establishing a domain; claims of control are therefore separated below from demonstrated scale.
Vampire bloodline and cultivation
Melia first fights as a Peak Great Sage Vampire and is already a Complete Cultivator, developing both mana and body rather than relying on one path. Her innate racial abilities include blood control, regeneration, poison carried through blood, enhanced physical ability, and Vampire Charm. She later reaches Saint after forming her Law, Divine under Aeliana's training, Sovereign during the Tandris war, and Transcendent when her Law becomes Absolute. (Chapters 750, 759–762, 1455, 1489, 1840, and 2062)
Her early Blood Control has a demonstrated range of at least five hundred meters: she draws blood within that distance into a defensive dome, floods a battlefield using prepared rings, and generates repeated spikes from the resulting pool. She can inject poisonous blood through wounds, form large spears at substantial Mana cost, and convert blood between liquid offense and defense. These techniques require blood to manipulate and energy to control it; before her Law, five major spears consume roughly half her Mana, and sufficiently powerful attacks can break a hastily formed dome. (Chapters 759–762)
Melia also uses Vampire Charm through eye contact. She compels a merchant to state a price and can intimidate weaker opponents through her crimson gaze. The corpus does not demonstrate that her ordinary Charm overrides every target: resistance varies with the target and strength, while later enslavement through her Law is a distinct blood-based mechanism. (Chapters 825 and 827)
Law of Blood Sovereignty
Melia forms the Law after Aeliana's mentorship restores her confidence and focus. It gives her authority over blood beyond normal Vampire manipulation while reducing the Mana cost of ordinary blood techniques to roughly half that of most Vampires. Its base applications include instantaneous healing from her own or foreign blood, linked blood weapons described as effectively indestructible, temporary strength gained by absorbing enemy blood, blood enslavement, and teleportation to locations she has marked with her blood. The teleport range grows as she becomes stronger, but the corpus does not supply a final maximum. (Chapters 1393–1395 and 1456)
Instant healing requires enough blood. Unlike ordinary regeneration, Melia wills replacement tissue into place without waiting for a natural healing cycle; at large battlefield scale, she restores catastrophic injuries in milliseconds. Absorbed strength is temporary and stacks only while she kills enough enemies within a sufficiently short period. Her linked weapons are claimed to be practically indestructible, but the supplied demonstrations do not establish how they fare against Absolute Laws or superior phases of energy. (Chapters 1456 and 1840)
Blood marks provide both mobility and information infrastructure. Melia can dissolve into blood and emerge at marks across a battlefield, allowing her to answer an ally's request without abandoning the army she controls. Her blood enslavement is stated to exceed Nux's earlier seal and later supports a hidden network across many worlds. The exact resistance conditions, duration, and maximum number of living slaves are not fully explained in the supplied corpus, so the billions involved in the network demonstrate scale achieved with collaborators and long preparation rather than instantaneous combat conversion. (Chapters 1456, 1840, and 2174)
Blood Soldiers and battlefield domain
Melia can return blood to a corpse, restore enough bodily function for movement, and command the result as a Blood Soldier or puppet. Early Divine-stage soldiers lack will, cannot use their Law of Self, and retain less than half their original strength. Ember's Law of Boundless Unity can compensate through numbers, while Nux's aura cancellation protects them against pressure that would otherwise neutralize the formation. This early version is therefore a powerful but explicitly cooperative army technique. (Chapters 1531–1532)
At Sovereign, Melia's puppets retain much more useful combat strength. She converts killed Sovereigns one after another and expands from one puppet to an army capable of overwhelming multiple enemy units. The apparent progression is tied to greater mastery and Law strength; the corpus does not fully explain whether every later puppet preserves all techniques or Laws it possessed in life. What is demonstrated is a snowball effect in which each enemy death increases her manpower and the blood available for attack, defense, and healing. (Chapter 1840)
Her Sovereign battlefield domain extends ten kilometers from her and places all blood in that area under her control. She uses it to pierce, bind, blind, shield, and regenerate while commanding thousands of soldiers. The domain is strongest in prolonged mass combat because casualties continuously replenish it. A clean battlefield, rapid separation from the blood, or an opponent who can overpower her before saturation are implied practical counters by her initial disadvantage; no single universal counter is stated. (Chapter 1840)
Law of Absolute Blood Sovereignty
Upon reaching Transcendent, Melia's Law becomes Absolute and her domain can encompass a blood-made world. The environment itself becomes her weapon: ground, mist, buildings, and airborne blood can restrain, poison, weaken, pierce, or protect at her will. Staying inside the realm and fighting defensively makes her exceptionally difficult to defeat because opponents must resist both Melia and an Absolute environment. (Chapter 2062)
This is her latest demonstrated mastery. She defeats several Transcendents shortly after breaking through and reads their memories through the aftermath of her control. The narrative describes overpowering an Absolute domain as nearly impossible, not literally impossible, and does not establish victory over Infinities or every higher-phase power. Her supremacy is demonstrated against Transcendents within a domain overwhelmingly composed of her chosen medium. (Chapter 2062)
Analysis and command
Melia's original ambition to found a clan gives her experience evaluating recruits, negotiating terms, and planning around stronger political powers. She reads Nux's early movement restrictions during their duel, recognizes when direct combat is unfavorable, and later anticipates the evidentiary value of a living captive. Her calm also makes her useful in the Leander family's planning discussions, though she generally works beside Amaya and other strategists rather than claiming sole command. (Chapters 750, 758, and 2149–2151)
Her most distinctive command style is converting the enemy's resources rather than supplying a conventional army. Blood Soldiers, enslaved agents, memory access, and a battlefield that grows with every casualty let her move from fighter to commander without separating the two roles. The approach is strongest after preparation or the first successful kill, and its dependence on blood explains why she can look merely competitive at the opening of a battle and overwhelming later in the same engagement. (Chapters 1531, 1840, and 2174)
Power progression
| Stage / Realm / Ability | Chapter(s) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Peak Great Sage / Complete Cultivator | 750–762 | Melia begins with a balanced Vampire foundation, blood control, regeneration, poison, and physical cultivation. |
| Saint / Law of Blood Sovereignty | 1393–1395, 1456 | Aeliana's mentorship helps her form a Law granting expanded authority over blood, reduced technique costs, healing, weapons, marks, and enslavement. |
| Divine Stage | 1455 | She advances under Aeliana's training and later uses blood puppets whose original Laws remain unavailable. |
| Sovereign Stage | 1840 | Continued outer-world cultivation raises her to Sovereign during the Tandris campaign. |
| Transcendent / Law of Absolute Blood Sovereignty | 2062 | Her Law becomes Absolute and anchors a blood-world Domain; the intervening Primordial attainment after Sovereign is not individually dated. |
Relationships
- Nux: Melia first tries to recruit Nux, loses a duel and joins his clan, then becomes his wife. He redirects rather than erases her ambition, while she protects his secrets even when doing so risks the mentorship she wants.
- Orpheus: Melia's father and the person she most respects at her introduction. His fairness shapes her insistence on honoring the duel, and he supports her chosen marriage despite its political unconventionality.
- Ambrosia: Melia's mother and an affectionate link between the Bloodheart and Leander families. Their reunion after thousands of years immediately breaks Melia's habitual reserve.
- Lazarus: Melia's elder brother and the expected Bloodheart heir. His position originally motivates her to found an independent clan, but she loves him and reunites with him without resentment over the succession.
- Aeliana: Melia's master. Aeliana tests her loyalty, trains her toward Blood Sovereignty, and recognizes the loneliness beneath her rivalry with her sisters; their bond later becomes a lasting partnership.
- Noctis: Melia's son. He shares her controlled manner and blood abilities, and she brings him to Yrniel to meet the Bloodheart family.
- Amaya: A sister, rival, and strategic collaborator. They clash over Nux but later work together on large-scale intelligence networks and planning.
- Ember: A sister whose strengthening and unity Laws interact exceptionally well with Melia's blood armies. Their cooperation turns individually weakened corpses into an effective force and helps Melia begin later snowballing victories.
