Lovis

Lovis Skyfall is the Third Prince of the Skyfall Kingdom and the leading candidate to replace Raguel after the Crown Prince loses his title. Publicly known as a cultivation prodigy who avoids political society, Lovis secretly builds competing alliances for the throne and ultimately tries to kill his sister Evane when she becomes a threat to his ambition.

Biography

A prodigy becomes the favored prince

Lovis first enters the succession discussion through rumors that praise his talent and call for him to become Crown Prince. He returns to the capital years later as a sixty-two-year-old Grand Master, already pursuing the Expert Stage, and receives Evane with apparent warmth. He says that cultivation matters more to him than parties and promises to protect her from Raguel, reinforcing the image of a gifted brother who has remained outside palace intrigue. (Chapters 149 and 416–418)

That distance from politics is partly a pose. Duke Merula openly supports Lovis, while Lovis and his retainer Leo have also signed a secret arrangement with Duke Centho's son Lucas. Evane tests his appetite for power by suggesting that Duke Vestalis might support him as well. Lovis fails to hide his greed at the prospect of controlling three Dukes, allowing Evane and Amaya to confirm that his ambition is much stronger than his cultivated public image suggests. Assassination reveals the choice behind the mask

Raguel uses a forged letter in Evane's name to lure Lovis into an ambush. Lovis initially treats Nux, who is disguised as Evane's servant, with contempt, but the assassination forces them onto the same side. Lovis fights beside Evane while Expert-stage attackers press them, and Evane risks herself to kill an assassin before the man can finish her brother. (Chapters 434–441)

Evane's rescue does not overcome Lovis's fear of her political rise. Once the attackers are down and Evane is exhausted, he draws a poison-coated dagger and attempts to stab her from behind. Nux catches his wrist, turns the dagger on him, and lets its poison paralyze him. After Leo refuses to abandon Lovis and dies for that loyalty, Lovis still assumes Evane will protect him; instead, she personally drives a sword through his neck. Her decision ends his claim and leaves her grieving the brother he chose not to be. (Chapters 441–443)

The palace publicly treats Lovis as a victim of Raguel's assassination scheme, which is true of the ambush but conceals Evane's direct role in his death. His killing becomes part of the pressure that drives Evane into the succession conflict and helps expose Raguel, while Lovis's own attempted betrayal remains hidden from the kingdom at large. Appearance and personality

Lovis is an attractive young-looking man with blond hair and brown eyes. His polished appearance and calm royal manner support the image of a talented prince more interested in cultivation than court spectacle. (Chapter 416)

He is disciplined and genuinely devoted to growing stronger, but also proud, secretive, class-conscious, and consumed by the throne once it comes within reach. He can act affectionate toward Evane and cooperate under danger, yet his ambition proves stronger than gratitude or sibling loyalty. His contempt for a supposed servant and his certainty that Evane will still save him reveal both entitlement and a serious misreading of the people around him. (Chapters 416–443)

Abilities and cultivation

At age sixty-two, Lovis is a Grand Master Stage mana cultivator with a High-level Earth affinity and is preparing to advance to Expert Stage. His unusual rate of progress makes him one of the royal family's acknowledged geniuses. The corpus does not name his cultivation method, explain how he acquired the affinity, or show him completing the planned breakthrough. (Chapters 416 and 418)

Lovis survives part of an ambush involving Expert-stage assassins and fights alongside Evane, but the scene gives no named Earth spell, activation method, or distinctive martial technique attributable to him. His demonstrated limits are more informative than his applications: he remains vulnerable to opponents one stage above him, needs Evane's intervention, and is unable to resist the poison from his own dagger once Nux turns it against him. (Chapters 435–443)

The dagger's paralysis is an item effect, not an innate ability. Lovis depends on surprise and Evane's exhaustion when he attempts to use it, and Nux's speed and physical control directly counter the attack. Lovis dies before his cultivation or Earth affinity receives any further progression. (Chapters 442–443)

Relationships

• Evane: Lovis presents himself as Evane's protective elder brother, and she risks her life to save him during Raguel's ambush. He answers by attempting to murder her for the throne, forcing Evane to kill him herself. (Chapters 416–443)
• Raguel: The brothers are rival heirs. Raguel arranges the ambush that nearly kills Lovis, and the public later attributes Lovis's death to that plot. (Chapters 149 and 434–454)
• Leo: Leo is Lovis's retainer and partner in the secret political agreement. Even after Lovis's defeat, Leo refuses Nux's offer to abandon his master and dies for that loyalty. (Chapters 423–431 and 442)
• Lucas: Lovis secretly accepts Lucas's support through Duke Centho, creating an alliance he does not disclose to his public backers. The stolen signed agreement helps Evane expose that duplicity. (Chapters 423–431)
• Nux: Lovis dismisses Nux as a servant until Nux helps repel the assassins. Nux then stops Lovis's betrayal, incapacitates him with his own poison, and leaves the final judgment to Evane. (Chapters 435–443)

• Unnamed poisoned dagger: Lovis conceals a dagger coated with a paralytic poison and uses it in an attempted surprise attack on Evane. Nux intercepts the strike and stabs Lovis with the same weapon, after which Lovis cannot move. The poison's composition, origin, and later custody are not given. (Chapters 442–443)
