Lucas

Lucas Skyfall is the Fourth Prince of the Skyfall Kingdom, a weak succession candidate whose drinking and pursuit of women make him easy for stronger factions to dismiss. He is neither as politically capable as his siblings nor quite as gullible as they assume: his secret support helps Lovis, and he recognizes and rejects Raguel's attempt to purchase the same support.

Biography

The underestimated prince and a hidden coalition

An early political assessment calls Lucas the Fifth Prince and predicts that the Skadi Kingdom might turn him into a puppet; later direct scenes consistently identify him as the Fourth Prince, making that his better-supported title. At fifty-nine, Lucas is only a Master Stage cultivator and openly spends his time on alcohol and women. Duke Centho's backing keeps him nominally in the succession, but he secretly supports Lovis after Lovis promises him a carefree life once crowned. (Chapters 149 and 416–423)

Raguel approaches Lucas believing that the “gullible” drunkard can be won with the same promise. Lucas sees through the false brotherly affection, pretends to accept, and then mocks Raguel for believing the act. When Raguel nearly strangles him, Lucas uses the political cost of fratricide to force him back. The encounter shows both sides of Lucas's character: he is physically helpless against an Expert, but perceptive and reckless enough to exploit the stronger prince's ambition. (Chapters 420–422)

Refusing to remain Lovis's tool

Evane, Amaya, and Nux expose Lucas's covert alignment by obtaining a signed promise in which Lovis agrees to imprison him after taking the throne. Thyra gives Lucas the paper while posing as a member of a dangerous hidden organization. Lucas knows he is being manipulated, but the document is authentic and confirms that Lovis intends to reverse the bargain that secured his support. He therefore confronts Lovis and threatens to destroy both of their chances rather than remain disposable. (Chapters 423–431)

The confrontation creates immediate consequences beyond Lucas's intent. Lovis concludes that Evane is a calculating threat and moves against her, while Duke Fulvanius's investigation uncovers the Merula-Centho arrangement. Lucas loses the leverage that came from secrecy, though he remains too weak to become a plausible ruler on his own. (Chapters 428–436 and 448–449)

A hostage in Raguel's last bid

After Lovis dies, Raguel's allies kidnap Lucas while he is drinking and use him to lure Evane outside the palace. Lucas begs for his life and trusts that Evane still values him, but Raguel plans to kill him after the trap succeeds. Nux and Evane intervene; Lucas is knocked unconscious during the clash, and Nux carries him back rather than leaving him with the dead conspirators. (Chapters 489–494)

Evane later suggests that Lucas might become a tolerable king if his drinking is controlled, but Astaria rejects the attempt to avoid Evane's own succession. Lucas is not crowned, and the corpus gives no further account of his political role, cultivation, or recovery after Chapter 501. (Chapter 501)

Appearance and personality

Lucas has green hair, green eyes with reddened edges, an above-average face, and a persistently tired look. Heavy perfume partly masks the smell of alcohol. His lethargic presentation makes the other royals see him as a harmless drunk. (Chapters 416–417)

He is hedonistic, blunt, irreverent, and careless about how others judge him. Lucas wants the throne chiefly for freedom from restraint, not public service, and reports accuse him of groping or assaulting women. He can nevertheless recognize false affection and political condescension, and he would rather ruin himself than quietly accept Lovis's betrayal. Under direct lethal threat, that defiance gives way to panic and bargaining. (Chapters 417 and 420–490)

Abilities and cultivation

Lucas is a fifty-nine-year-old Master Stage mana cultivator whose slow progress is attributed to neglect rather than a demonstrated physical restriction. The corpus supplies no affinity, cultivation method, named spell, weapon art, or completed advancement. His stage leaves him far below Grand Master Lovis and Expert Raguel. (Chapters 416 and 421)

His principal demonstrated strength is social reading. While sober, he detects Raguel's insincere approach, performs false agreement convincingly, and uses the succession consequences of killing a royal sibling as leverage. This is intelligence and nerve rather than a supernatural ability, and it does not protect him against covert entry, kidnapping, or stronger cultivators. Thyra incapacitates his guards without resistance, Raguel nearly strangles him, and a later battle blast knocks him unconscious. (Chapters 420–427 and 489–494)

No later scene shows combat progression. Evane's claim that controlling his drinking could make him a “fine King” is an argument offered to avoid taking the throne herself, not evidence of proven governing or martial ability. (Chapter 501)

Relationships

• Lovis: Lucas secretly supports Lovis in exchange for freedom after his coronation. Once he sees Lovis's signed plan to imprison him, Lucas withdraws trust and threatens mutual destruction. (Chapters 422–431)
• Raguel: Raguel tries to buy Lucas's support and nearly kills him when mocked. He later kidnaps Lucas as leverage against Evane and intends to dispose of him once the trap works. (Chapters 420–422 and 489–494)
• Evane: Evane genuinely worries about Lucas's addictions but also uses that concern in a scheme to expose Lovis. She later answers his kidnapping and briefly proposes him as an alternative ruler. (Chapters 416–431 and 489–501)
• Thyra: Thyra frightens Lucas into hearing her out, then gives him the authentic document that exposes Lovis. Lucas knowingly acts on information supplied by someone using him. (Chapters 427–428)
• Duke Centho: Lucas's grandfather and formal political backer. Centho's covert agreement with Duke Merula redirects Lucas's faction toward Lovis. (Chapters 423, 431, and 448)

• Lovis's signed promise: Thyra gives Lucas a paper bearing Lovis's handwriting, signature, and stamp, in which Lovis agrees to imprison him. Lucas uses it as proof during their confrontation; its later custody is not stated. (Chapters 427–431)
