Esme Bloodheart is a Great Sage Vampire who becomes a Saint through Nux's intervention, the second wife of Lazarus, and one of Melia's affectionate sisters-in-law. Biography

Welcoming Melia's marriage into the family

Esme is introduced with Lazarus's other wives when Ambrosia presents the Bloodheart family to Nux. She and Claudia react with outrage when they learn that Melia and Nux consider themselves married without holding a celebration, reading the omission as a failure to honor their younger sister publicly. Esme is the boldest of the three when they question Melia about what she loves in Nux, but the teasing is protective rather than hostile: she wants reassurance that Melia is valued and that the marriage is real.
