Zagan

Zagan is the name Lux gives the former “Second,” an S-Rated High-Ranking Demon born through Abyssal power and admitted into the Necromancer Covenant. Fast, tactically minded, and equipped for barrier breaking, lightning warfare, and blood-fueled summoning, he becomes one of Lux’s Demigod commanders. (Chapters 505, 510, 1144, 1187)

Biography

Heaven’s Gate and the continental wars

Lux rejects the numerical name “Second” and names the kneeling demon Zagan, granting him an identity he promises to treasure eternally. Zagan immediately proves both loyalty and ruthlessness by killing Nero after Lux’s final warning. In the continental war he creates a Blood Golem from battlefield deaths, uses it to restrain Cai, supervises vulnerable guild children, and advises Lux honestly that an enemy artifact might steal the simple-minded construct’s control. (Chapters 505, 512, 553, 590)

These duties establish him as more than a fast assassin. Lux uses Zagan as magical artillery, a strategist, a supervisor, and one of the powerful summons capable of stopping Gerhart and Cethus if their duel becomes lethal. His willingness to explain the Blood Golem’s weakness shows development from a weapon born of the Abyss into a subordinate who protects the wider guild through judgment. (Chapters 510, 553, 634)

The rescue from the Abyss and the final war

Zagan answers Lux’s call in the Abyss by raining black-and-white lightning over enemy forces, expanding his earlier blitz role to a city-scale battlefield. In the final war he stands among Demigod-ranked leaders just below the most exceptional Peak Demigods and brings a hundred-thousand-strong army against the Golden Abominations. His latest state preserves his original speed-and-magic identity while magnifying its scale through Lux’s growth. (Chapters 1144, 1187)

Appearance and personality

Zagan is a horned High-Ranking Demon with a blade protruding from his arm who can levitate and descend from the sky. He is formal toward Lux, grateful for his name, quick to execute threats, and sufficiently analytical to acknowledge weaknesses in his own summons. His loyalty is severe rather than gentle, but supervising Laura and Livia shows that he can apply that severity to protection as well as killing. (Chapters 505, 510, 553)

Abilities and skills

Zagan’s highest statistic is agility. Lightning Steps, Blink Teleport, Lightning Reflexes, Black Lightning Bolts, Lightning Slash, Double Fury Slash, and Sky-High Rush support hit-and-run attacks and ranged magical pressure. Shield Breaker [EX] unfailingly breaks physical or magical barriers, Yin-Yang Slash is especially effective against demons and Abyssal creatures, and Duel [EX] forces direct engagement. Counterfeiter converts water and wine or metal and equivalent coins in either direction. (Chapter 505)

Summon Blood Golem merges battlefield blood into one construct that grows ten meters per thousand corpses, continuously absorbs nearby blood, and caps at one hundred meters. Its dependence on deaths makes it weak in bloodless environments, it obeys only basic commands, and hostile artifacts may steal control. These limits make Zagan’s judgment essential: the Golem’s size is not the same as intelligence or secure allegiance. (Chapters 505, 510, 512)

Relationships

  • Lux: Zagan’s master and namer, to whom he offers gratitude, strategic advice, and lethal obedience. (Chapters 505, 510)
  • Lazarus: A fellow high-stat magical summon often deployed with him for bombardment and battle control. (Chapters 505, 634)
  • Laura and Livia: Young guild members he helps supervise while Lux is absent. (Chapter 553)
