Queen Evangeline
Queen Evangeline is the Dragon Queen of the Crystal Palace, wife of Keoza, and mother of Aurelia. Her earlier vision of the world’s danger helps set Keoza’s century-long sacrifice in motion, while her patience holds their family together through his absence and brief return.
Biography
The Dragon kingdoms and the Abyss
After more than a century of separation, Evangeline receives Keoza’s Dragon Token and speaks to the soul sealed within it. She begs him to seek release from Lux, but accepts his decision to honor one final summons because Lux is approaching threats at the world’s apex. Their exchange reveals that Evangeline originally foresaw the coming catastrophe and suffered a backlash that struck their unborn child, prompting Keoza to abandon his body and kingship to protect Aur and the future. Her choice in this reunion is painful patience: she trusts his judgment and continues waiting rather than forcing a return that could leave the wider world defenseless. (Chapter 811)
The rescue from the Abyss and the final war
Evangeline supports Aurelia’s relationship with Lux, survives Keoza’s protective crystal encasement during Daniel’s first assault, and later accompanies the pregnant Dragon Princesses to the World Tree for safety. Before the united army departs, she promises Keoza that she will watch over their daughter and wait for his return. She also meets Lux with teasing scrutiny rather than hostility, testing the man Aurelia loves. During the final battle, Keoza sacrifices himself against Daniel, and Evangeline bites her lip until it bleeds as she watches the husband she only recently regained die again. That bereavement is not his final state: Keoza is among the fallen restored after victory and later resumes family life, so Evangeline ends the corpus reunited with him rather than permanently widowed. (Chapters 1027, 1088, 1103–1105, 1152–1153, 1166, 1191, 1214, 1221, 1226, 1232)
Appearance and personality
Evangeline is described as an exceptionally beautiful Dragon woman; the corpus does not supply a hair color, eye color, or detailed wardrobe. She is devoted, patient, emotionally open with Keoza, protective of Aurelia, and capable of playful teasing when evaluating Lux. Her willingness to trust her husband across a century does not make her passive: she questions whether his service is still necessary, interprets danger quickly, and accepts evacuation when it protects the younger generation. (Chapters 811, 1027, 1152–1153, 1191)
Abilities and skills
Evangeline has prophetic sight powerful enough to glimpse the catastrophe threatening both worlds, but the vision carries a serious backlash that affects her unborn child, making foresight dangerous rather than freely repeatable. As a Crystal Dragon, she can also enter a crystal-statue state as a last resort, sealing her body against physical and mental attacks. Keoza can impose the same protection through Dragon King authority, as he does before Daniel’s strike; the crystals later crumble without injuring her. The corpus does not state Evangeline’s formal rank or show her using this defense offensively, so neither Supreme-level combat power nor unlimited precognition should be inferred. (Chapters 811, 1103–1105)
