Nora

Nora is Livia’s baby Slime companion. She is distinct from Cora, the Slime belonging to Livia’s twin Laura; the pair are usually seen together, but Nora’s bond, commands, and care belong specifically to Livia.

Biography

The Lionheart Tournament and the Hidden Domain

Nora first appears when a Horned Rabbit steals an herb that Laura and Livia are gathering. Livia orders her not to let it escape, and Nora coordinates with Cora to fire Stone and Water Bullets, stunning the rabbit so the twins can recover the plant. Nora celebrates Livia’s praise and affection afterward, establishing her as more than a passive pet: she understands a specific command, works with another companion rather than attacking indiscriminately, and helps the girls perform useful work around Leaf Village. The encounter also surprises Sid, who had underestimated how capable the village’s young Slimes had become. (Chapter 226)

The rescue from the Abyss and the final war

Nora’s later life broadens from foraging companion to community helper. She becomes a Rank 4 Monster able to speak more clearly, learns explosive skills from Eiko, helps dig tunnels and rebuild Blackrock homes with Earth Magic, and remains closely involved in Livia’s household. During the Abyssal siege she is visibly afraid, yet answers Cedie’s call and joins Leaf Town’s Slimes in the mass Blast Bomb defense. By her final appearance, she and Cora are in Espoir Frieden with Livia and Laura, quietly absorbing the shards of Rose’s broken teacup so no one steps on them. That small act restores her usual protective domestic role after the emergency of war. (Chapters 433–434, 604, 626, 1113, 1209)

Appearance and personality

Nora is a baby Slime small enough for Livia to carry, pat, feed berries and candy, or hold close when frightened. Her jelly-like body jiggles when she is kissed, and she communicates first through simple cries and expressive movement before gaining clearer speech after reaching Rank 4. She is affectionate, eager for praise, sociable with Eiko and other Slimes, and ambitious enough to say that she wants to become as strong as Eiko. Her courage is communal rather than fearless: she cries under the Abyssal pressure but still leaves shelter to defend her home. (Chapters 226, 374, 433, 571, 588, 633, 1113)

Abilities and skills

Nora participates in a paired Stone-and-Water-Bullet attack with Cora during her first scene, with the ordering of the commands and shots indicating Nora supplies the Water Bullet. After an external upgrade she reaches Rank 4 and can speak more clearly; a later quest grants her an unnamed Unique Ability, but the corpus does not reveal its mechanics, so no effect can be assigned to it. Her demonstrated utility expands to Earth Magic for constructing Orc homes and helping Eiko dig underground tunnels, while Eiko’s shared Bombardier core teaches Nora and the other Slimes Blast Bomb production. The nuclear-level siege blast is a fusion of bombs from hundreds of Slimes through the Guardian Statue, not Nora’s individual output, and she explicitly cannot reproduce Eiko’s ability to swallow large targets.
