Lady Avyanna

Lady Avyanna is the Orc Chieftain of the Blackrock Clan, the mate of Barca, and the mother of Flamma. Her leadership combines hospitality and political testing with an unsentimental determination to preserve her people when pride alone would destroy them.

Biography

Heaven’s Gate and the continental wars

Avyanna receives Lux’s party with a formal feast, carefully chosen food, and an immediate test of his motives. She sees through his manipulation of Flamma, refuses to surrender the Twin Flames outright, and offers only a loan if he earns the clan’s recognition during the Haca war. Once Baronar reveals Lux’s necromancy, she approves his use of enemy corpses because she can see its strategic value. As enemy numbers become overwhelming, she repeatedly orders retreats despite the blow to Orc pride, judging survival more useful than an honorable mass death. (Chapters 591–592, 597, 604)

Lux’s plan and Heaven’s Gate turn that retreat into a counteroffensive. Avyanna gains authority to recruit the Blackrock Clan into the Mythical Guild, shares its secret only when necessary, and helps secure victory and future exchange through a permanent teleportation route. She then urges Flamma to leave home and grow beyond the clan’s borders, accepting personal separation as the cost of his development. Later, when summoned to another battlefield, she saves him from an Argonaut Black Hawk, rallies tens of thousands of Orcs, and fights as both chieftain and mother. Abyssal invasion and broken memories

During the Abyssal invasion, Avyanna and Barca hold the Blackrock fortress’s southern line while the Transcendent Flames elevate both from Dreadnaught to Calamity. The increase lets them contend with stronger invaders, but it does not make the defense effortless or permanent: breached gates force them to redeploy, and they trust Flamma and Cethus to buy time while the clan answers the western emergency.
