Helen
Helen is the Cleric of Colette’s beginner party and one of Lux’s first friends in Elysium. Protected at the center or rear of the formation, she keeps the young Dwarves alive through healing, barriers, Holy attacks, and support magic. Her role expands from frightened survivor and messenger to a combat support fighter aboard Edea during the final war.
Biography
Awakening and Leaf Village
Helen joins Lux, Colette, Matty, Andy, and Axel as the party’s only Cleric. In the Dark Draugr fight, she overcomes the fear left by an earlier encounter and attacks the Undead with Holy Arrow from the protected center. When the Kobold expedition collapses, she escapes despite her injuries and begs Lux to rescue the captured party, placing her friends’ survival above her own pain. She then returns with the rescue force and heals wounded Dwarves continuously, using restorative candy to sustain herself until exhaustion. These episodes establish both why the formation protects her and why the group trusts her under pressure. (Chapters 36–61)
As the party advances, Helen questions whether their ranks can survive a C-Rank dungeon, supports the decision only after escape measures and difficulty are clarified, and contributes healing and buffs through Orc Dominion and the graduation battles. A boss attack later shatters her barrier and critically injures her, demonstrating that positioning and artifacts cannot fully bridge a large rank gap. During the Lycan ambush, enemies target her first because losing the healer would collapse the group, yet she continues treating Andy and Axel until all are overpowered. After Lux rescues them, Helen accompanies Colette to report the conspiracy to the Adventurer’s Guild, turning support work into the action that brings lawful reinforcements. (Chapters 76–139, 181–191)
The rescue from the Abyss and the final war
Before the last battle, Helen and Colette make rounds among Heaven’s Gate’s defenders, distributing bitter ale that improves concentration and keeps exhausted guild members awake. This is a modest task beside the surrounding armies, but it fits Helen’s consistent priority: preserve the force’s ability to function before casualties occur rather than wait to heal damage afterward. (Chapter 1203)
When combat begins, Helen rides on Colette’s Gyrocopter with a Baby Slime perched on her head while they fire Blast Missiles into airborne Abyssal monsters. Matty stays nearby and warns Colette not to fly too deeply into the enemy mass. Helen’s presence at the front does not turn her into a heavy striker; it shows a support specialist accepting a new platform and the same formation logic on a much larger battlefield. Her latest confirmed status is active in this engagement, with no later death recorded in the supplied corpus. (Chapter 1206)
Appearance and personality
Helen is a young Dwarf girl who carries a staff and wears support-oriented armor suited to a Cleric. She is usually positioned behind the armored vanguard, and later receives a Mythical staff aligned to her affinity. During the final war she is small enough to share Colette’s Gyrocopter while a Baby Slime rides on her head. The corpus does not consistently specify her hair or eye color. (Chapters 36–38, 118, 181, 1206)
Kind, cautious, and emotionally direct, Helen voices danger when stronger personalities are tempted by an advanced dungeon and openly pleads for help when her friends are captured. Caution does not make her passive: she returns to hostile territory, heals until physically exhausted, attacks Undead despite nightmares, and reports enemies to the authorities. Her courage is expressed through continued support under fear rather than a desire to dominate the battlefield. (Chapters 37, 52–61, 76, 96, 181–191)
Cleric abilities
Healing, cleansing, and support magic
Helen restores injuries, reinforces allies with support spells, and works with Colette or a support Carbuncle to keep defenders alive. Repeated casting consumes stamina and mana: during the Kobold rescue she must eat restorative candy while healing, eventually sweating and breathing heavily from nonstop chants. Clerics can also remove negative conditions, but if Helen is afflicted herself the party cannot rely on her to cleanse everyone, which is why Lux assigns poison-immune support to cover her in plague fights. (Chapters 56, 78–79, 125, 135–136, 181)
Holy offense and barriers
Holy Arrow launches light from Helen’s staff and deals especially effective damage to Undead because Holy and Life magic oppose them. She can also create a barrier in an emergency, but Orobak’s vastly stronger attack shatters it and leaves her critically injured despite defensive artifacts. Her magic therefore provides meaningful ranged damage and last-second protection without making a Cleric a substitute for a dedicated tank. (Chapters 37–38, 112)
Battlefield support and Gyrocopter combat
Helen understands protected formation work, maintains buffs from the rear, and adapts logistical support to battlefield needs. On Edea she helps distribute concentration-enhancing drink, then rides with Colette and assists the aerial defense from a Gyrocopter equipped with Blast Missiles. The craft supplies mobility and firepower, but the need for Matty’s warning and close formation shows that she remains vulnerable if the team penetrates too far into stronger enemy ranks. (Chapters 36, 124–139, 1203, 1206)
Relationships
- Colette: Colette is Helen’s close friend, party leader, fellow healer, and final-war pilot. Helen repeatedly supports her decisions and shares responsibility for the group’s survival. (Chapters 36–139, 181–191, 1203–1206)
- Lux: Lux protects Helen’s casting position, organizes the rescue she requests, and later relies on her as one of his early allies. (Chapters 36–61, 96–139, 181–191)
- Matty, Andy, and Axel: Matty guards the frontline while the two mages fight beside Helen in the rear. Their formation makes each role dependent on the others. (Chapters 36–38, 110–139, 181)
- Eiko: Eiko and her support Slimes supplement Helen’s healing and protect her when poison or disease could disable the party’s only Cleric. (Chapters 79, 125–136)
