Andy

Andy is a young Dwarf fire mage and one of Lux’s earliest friends in Elysium. He supplies the Golden Slayers’ ranged firepower, grows from a frightened beginner into a coordinated dungeon fighter, and resolves to become strong enough to save Lux in return.

Biography

Awakening and Leaf Village

Andy enters the Bronze Crypt as a twelve-year-old rear-line mage still scarred by the earlier Monster Outbreak. A Dark Draugr’s presence initially freezes him, but Lux’s direction brings him back into the fight; his first Fire Bullet restores the party’s confidence and helps establish a formation in which he attacks only after the vanguard creates an opening. Captured in the later Kobold disaster, he survives the costly rescue and continues adventuring rather than allowing fear to end his path. (Chapters 36–37, 55–59)

In Orc Dominion, Andy and Axel time elemental shots to protect the frontline, though stronger Orcs can barely be pushed back by their spells. Clearing the hidden mode earns Andy a Mythical staff aligned to his element, while subsequent battles show better reactions to ambush and disciplined target selection. When Twilight Rain later overwhelms the party, the defeat renews his wish to become someone who does not always need Lux’s rescue. (Chapters 97–118, 129–191)

The Dragon kingdoms and the Abyss

Andy reunites with Lux as a more practiced Golden Slayers member whose Fireball is integrated into the team’s movements: Matty rolls aside before the spell strikes a Gutspawn, requiring little spoken coordination. Learning that Lux faked his death hurts him deeply, yet affection outweighs resentment. Andy explicitly promises that he and his friends will catch up and become Lux’s rescuers, and departs with encouragement to keep training toward the Ranker path. (Chapters 715, 721–722, 750)

Appearance and personality

Andy is introduced as a twelve-year-old Dwarf and is generally shown carrying a mage’s staff in the rear of the party formation. The corpus does not specify his hair or eye color. He begins visibly frightened by powerful undead, but recovers when given a clear task and becomes friendly, loyal, and emotionally earnest. His later insistence that he will save Lux reflects both youthful ambition and gratitude rather than rivalry for its own sake. (Chapters 36–37, 91, 191, 715, 721–722)

Fire magic and party abilities

Fire Bullet and Fireball

Andy casts Fire Bullet after a short incantation, creating a small ball of flame at his staff’s tip and firing it as a ranged impact spell. Early shots can push a Dark Draugr or ordinary target backward but barely move a much stronger Orc, making rank and durability explicit limits. By Chapter 715 he also uses the larger Fireball, timing it with Matty’s evasion so the spell hits their dungeon target directly. (Chapters 37, 77, 97, 110, 715)

Formation casting

Andy’s effectiveness depends on spacing and teamwork. Colette and Matty hold the front, Helen supports from the center, and Andy and Axel chant from the rear until an opening appears; when a boss can kill the vanguard in one strike, they are ordered to remain at range. His Mythical staff matches his fire affinity, but the corpus does not state its individual mechanics, and even improved equipment cannot erase the danger of Rankers or massed higher-ranked enemies. (Chapters 36–37, 97, 112, 118, 181)

Relationships

  • Lux: Lux helps Andy overcome fear, insists on rescuing him and the other children, and becomes the older-brother figure Andy hopes one day to protect in return. (Chapters 36–59, 191, 715–750)
  • Colette, Matty, Axel, and Helen: They are Andy’s regular party formation; his fire magic relies on their frontline control, water attacks, and healing support. (Chapters 36–38, 77–139, 181, 715)
  • Eiko: Eiko recognizes Andy as one of her older-brother figures, and he welcomes her warmly at their reunion. (Chapters 91, 129, 715)
