Harrus

Harrus is a reddish-haired Dwarven Brawler who leads Twilight Rain's attempt to kidnap Princess Anastasia. His raw strength and combat appetite carry him from B-Ranker to A-Ranker, but repeated confidence in direct force ends with Lux arranging his defeat and Blackfire's absorption of him.

Biography

Heaven’s Gate and the continental wars

Harrus oversees a thoroughly prepared abduction, confiscating the captives' belongings and using enchanted replacement clothes to foil blood-based tracking. When rescuers find the ship anyway, he treats weaker attackers with contempt and relies on close-range power. His willingness to use Princess Anastasia as leverage contrasts with his eventual promise to spare her attendants after she kneels, showing a criminal leader who can honor a tactical bargain (Chapters 394–405).

Stranded at sea after the rescue succeeds, Harrus survives and prepares mounts for land, air, and water so that the same humiliation cannot recur. In Whitebridge he barges into Lucius's meeting, demands funds and intelligence, and offers to hunt the people attacking their guild. Although arrogant and pushy, he rewards loyal subordinates and is valued as one of Twilight Rain's strongest field members (Chapters 406, 727–731).

Abyssal invasion and broken memories

After the failed kidnapping damages his reputation, Harrus trains until reaching A-Rank and helps lead Twilight Rain's concentrated defense. He charges into the Dwarven army as a battle-junkie Brawler, trusting the guild's numerical advantage in Saints. Lux, whom Harrus still mistakes for Randolph, meets him at equal rank but uses Calypso, ranged harassment, and surrounding defenders to deny the one-on-one contest Harrus wants (Chapters 1036, 1038).

Harrus activates Berserk and feints past Calypso for a final strike at Lux, only for the Corpse God to shield-bash him away. The Spear of Longinus destroys his right arm, an earth spike inflicts a fatal chest wound, and Blackfire drags him inside before he can resist. The text presents his resulting fate as slavery and torment within the coffin, not a free continuation of the living Brawler's identity (Chapter 1039).

Appearance and personality

Harrus is a Dwarf with reddish-brown hair, later described more simply as red-haired, who fights barehanded or with wrist guards. He is forceful, arrogant, vengeful, and exhilarated by melee combat, but more tactically capable than some allies expect. He treats hard-working subordinates generously and can keep a promise, while his hatred of being outmaneuvered repeatedly pushes him toward reckless direct attacks (Chapters 394, 400, 405, 731, 1038).

Brawler abilities

Harrus specializes in fists, kicks, lunges, and shock-force attacks. At B-Rank he can break a Rank 4 Jade Golem's arm with one kick, punch cannonballs back, cross distance in seconds, and unleash a ranged force through an apparently simple punch. He can also appraise and detect magical artifacts, an ability used to strip tracking tools from kidnapped captives (Chapters 394–395, 402–403).

By Chapter 1036 he is an A-Ranker. Berserk turns his body red and raises all stats by 300 percent, while his wrist guards block heavy strikes and his feint lets him bypass Calypso's initial defense. These boosts do not overcome layered protection or divine weaponry: he loses an arm to the Spear of Longinus and cannot resist Blackfire after receiving a near-heart fatal wound (Chapters 1036, 1038–1039).

Relationships

  • Lux: Harrus first knows Lux by the false name Randolph and repeatedly seeks a direct rematch. Lux exploits that fixation and defeats him through combined summons rather than granting the desired duel (Chapters 395, 1038–1039).
  • Princess Anastasia: Harrus leads her abduction and tries to use her as a hostage, but later honors the agreement to spare her attendants (Chapters 394, 402–405).
  • Lucius: Harrus disrespects Lucius's authority yet still cooperates for money and guild interest, exposing factional friction within Twilight Rain (Chapters 728–731).
  • Sion: They do not meaningfully partner, but the narration explicitly compares both men as battle junkies whose instincts favor fighting over negotiation (Chapter 1038).
