Bai Ling

Bai Ling is Hei Yu's wife, Hei Tong's mother, and a surviving member of the destroyed Bai family. Her partnership with Hei Yu is forged during years of flight from the Peng Demon Emperor's forces, then develops into a stable family bond that anchors him through separation, revenge, ascension, and life in Qin Yu's created cosmos.

Biography

Flight, rescue, and a new family

Living under the alias Lady Ling Jian, Bai Ling hides with Hei Yu on Jade Shepherd Star after imperial forces slaughter the rest of their clan and capture her elder sister, Bai Xin. When another force finds them, Bai Ling fights beside her husband rather than accept his demand that she escape alone. Outnumbered by dozens of elite Demon Kings, she is badly injured, yet still chooses to die together with Hei Yu and take enemies with them rather than preserve herself by abandoning him. (Chapters 398–399)

Qin Yu and Hou Fei's arrival turns that last stand into a family reunion. Bai Ling quickly recognizes the intimacy among the three brothers, confirms without hesitation that marrying Hei Yu was her own choice, and accepts Qin Yu's refuge in Jiang Lan's Realm. Her immediate concern remains Bai Xin, but she and Hei Yu agree to postpone a reckless assault on the Bird Clan, using the realm's accelerated time to become strong enough that a rescue has a realistic chance of success. Motherhood and Bai Xin's loss

Bai Ling's pregnancy and Hei Tong's birth transform the hidden refuge into a household. As a level-nine Demon King and low-level divine beast, she survives the difficult birth with only temporary weakness and responds to Hei Yu's anxious gratitude with quiet happiness. Motherhood does not erase the old grief: after years of training, Bai Ling presses to seek Bai Xin, points out that Jiang Lan's Realm offers an escape from the Peng Demon Emperor, and helps persuade the brothers to enter Bird-Clan territory despite the danger. The attempted reunion fails when imperial agents intercept Zong Jue and recapture Bai Xin. Bai Ling's fear repeatedly pushes her toward immediate action, but she grows quiet when Hei Yu reminds her not to force Qin Yu into a nearly impossible rescue. The family nevertheless attempts one; Bai Xin dies through the spiritual-beast bond imposed by the Peng Demon Emperor just after Hei Yu reaches her. Bai Ling loses her last birth-family relative, while Qin Yu and Hei Yu carry the consequences into their later revenge against the officials responsible. (Chapters 405–413)

Raising Hei Tong under pursuit

On Flowing Mist Star, Bai Ling and Hei Yu try to give Hei Tong experience beyond the refuge while maintaining concealment from the Bird Clan. Bai Ling understands where imperial surveillance is concentrated, agrees to let Dong Xue supervise her daughter in the city, and endures a century of separation while the brothers cultivate. Her desire to see Hei Tong sometimes conflicts with the demands of that training, but reunion restores the domestic life she values, and she warmly welcomes Guo Fan when Hei Tong introduces him to the family. Bai Ling also recognizes the widening cultivation gap between herself and Hei Yu. When battles among Emperor-level experts make her presence a liability, she voluntarily returns to Jiang Lan's Realm rather than slow the brothers. She later chooses to remain with Hei Tong when Hei Yu prepares for ascension, accepting that she cannot match his pace and may be separated from him for an immense span. Enemy emperors exploit that vulnerability by targeting Bai Ling as bait, but Wu Lan and Qin Yu's protections save her and keep the household intact until Hei Yu's eventual departure. Reunion in the Purple Mystic household

By Qin Yu and Jiang Li's wedding, Bai Ling has reunited with Hei Yu in the Purple Mystic household and is part of a multigenerational family that includes Hei Tong's children. Experience as a mother gives her a practical role others trust: when Jiang Li becomes pregnant and Qin Yu panics over attendants, Bai Ling gently intervenes, notes Hei Tong's lack of steadiness, and assumes responsibility because she has handled pregnancy care before. She later announces Qin Yu's son's safe birth to the waiting family. (Chapters 608–641)

Her later life is defined less by pursuit than by companionship. Bai Ling shares tea and family discussions with Hei Yu, Qin Yu, and Jiang Li, watches the Exalted Celestial conflict from safety, and supports the household's other women through births and crises. At the conclusion, concern for Qin Yu's cosmic transformation gives way to celebration, and she joins the three brothers and their wives in the completed Qin Meng Cosmos to help imagine and observe the creation of new life and civilization. Appearance and personality

Bai Ling is described through a pale but clever face, quick-witted eyes, and a strong resemblance to her elder sister Bai Xin. She is gentle in ordinary family life, readily embarrassed by teasing, and emotionally transparent when relatives are endangered. Her worry can make her press for action before a plan is safe, but she also accepts correction, delays rescue when strength is insufficient, and removes herself from battles where she would burden stronger allies. That combination makes her courageous without pretending she is fearless or tactically infallible. (Chapters 398–405, 408–424)

Abilities and cultivation

Demon cultivation and combat limits

Bai Ling is a low-level divine beast who has reached level-nine Demon King by her first appearance. She wields a sword and fights in coordination with Hei Yu, but the Jade Shepherd Star ambush defines her combat ceiling: several level-eight and level-nine Demon Kings overwhelm and seriously wound her while Hei Yu faces the Demon Emperors. She has no documented named technique, Emperor-level attack, or later stated rank, so her survival in higher-level conflicts depends on withdrawal into Jiang Lan's Realm and protection from Qin Yu's stronger allies. Her cultivation is sufficient to endure childbirth as a powerful demon cultivator, though it costs vitality, but it cannot keep pace with Hei Yu's battle-driven advancement. Bai Ling explicitly expects Hei Yu to ascend before she can and chooses to remain with their daughter rather than demand that he delay. The supplied chapters later place her in Qin Yu's protected cosmos without describing an independent ascension or breakthrough, so no higher cultivation stage can be securely assigned to her. Practical judgment and caregiving

Bai Ling contributes knowledge of Bird-Clan settlement patterns, noticing that small border planets attract fewer imperial personnel and are therefore better hiding places. As a mother and experienced caregiver, she also takes charge of Jiang Li's pregnancy care when less experienced attendants would be unreliable. These are practical rather than supernatural abilities, and their reach depends on family cooperation: her assessment supports Qin Yu's concealment plan, while the household's security and resources let her caregiving replace the constant survival decisions of her fugitive years. Relationships

• Hei Yu: Her husband and closest partner. They survive the Bai family massacre together, raise Hei Tong, share grief over Bai Xin, and sustain their bond through a long cultivation-driven separation.
• Hei Tong: Her daughter. Bai Ling balances affection and discipline, endures separation so Hei Tong can experience ordinary life safely, and later becomes part of her daughter's extended family.
• Bai Xin: Her elder sister and last surviving birth-family relative after the massacre. Bai Ling's determination to rescue her drives the family into the Bird Clan conflict, and Bai Xin's death becomes Bai Ling's central loss.
• Qin Yu: Her brother-in-law, rescuer, and protector. Bai Ling trusts his judgment even when fear for Bai Xin makes patience difficult, and later repays that care by supporting Jiang Li through pregnancy.
