Kim Yul

Kim Yul, later known as Lefanta Aegim and the Constellation Killer, is a bullied Korean student whose resurrection in another world leads to centuries of conquest, self-erasure, and war against Constellations. After Kim Gong-ja restores the identity hidden beneath Lefanta's sacrificed memories, Kim Yul chooses service in the Death King Family while preserving a will of his own. His continuity is singular but physically complicated: the Kim Yul who joins Gong-ja inhabits a newly created fourteenth body, while thirteen older, memory-disconnected puppets continue the Constellation Killer's campaign until he helps destroy them.

Biography

The student erased by Lefanta Aegim

Kim Yul grows up in extreme poverty with a father who collects discarded goods. Their home is a shack beside a dump, his school uniform is visibly neglected, and his classmates turn those signs of deprivation into permission to torment him. They flood his phone with abuse, stage physical humiliations, and record them for entertainment. Kim nevertheless continues tending the school's abandoned animals, sharing the work with a security guard and a younger student later revealed to be Ja Soo-jung. His care for creatures that other students neglect shows that his life is not defined solely by the violence done to him. (Chapters 125 and 132–138)

When the harassment becomes unbearable, Kim climbs to a locked rooftop and jumps. Before dying, he sends thirty-seven classmates a message naming each recipient as one of his murderers and ordering them not to forget. His intention is to make the people who erased his dignity carry proof that he existed, but his trauma also preserves regret toward the class president who failed to stop the abuse without actively joining it. In the hypothetical resolution Gong-ja later constructs, Kim accepts her apology and chooses that they should survive together; the actual Kim dies before that exchange can occur. (Chapters 125 and 132–138)

After death, the Guardian Goddess recruits him as a warrior in another world. He awakens there, becomes the first emperor of the Aegim Empire, and takes the name Lefanta, “man of the wilds.” The change is not merely a heroic alias. When he first invokes the Salvation Sword, he sacrifices one syllable of his original name for power and accepts the loss because he believes the old name and life have no value. Repeated use of the same bargain eventually removes the memories that would let him identify himself as Kim Yul. (Chapters 124 and 128)

Lefanta reaches the fiftieth floor and travels among worlds, but his campaigns turn rescue into another form of erasure. He divides and seals the Goddess of Protection into the Five Guardian Swords, establishes empires, and begins killing Constellations because he believes beings who govern human lives abolish freedom. Each victory can demand another meaningful memory. The righteous warrior remembered by Shiny therefore becomes the Constellation Killer by repeatedly spending the personal history that once supplied his reasons for fighting. (Chapters 53, 59, 124, and 128–129)

The Constellation Killer remembers Kim Yul

By the time Gong-ja meets him, the Constellation Killer is an amnesiac hunter with long silver hair, blue eyes, a sword, and a notebook. Salvation of a Torn Goddess converts memories into temporary abilities, with more important memories producing greater strength. Lefanta has used it so aggressively that he may retain only a day or week at a time, making written records the bridge between successive versions of himself. His calm belief that Constellations must die survives because the notebook preserves the mission even when the experiences that could challenge it disappear. (Chapters 124–129 and 137)

His apparent immortality comes from Puppeteer's Parade. Thirteen puppets reproduce his appearance and abilities; when one is destroyed, another awakens, and damaged inactive bodies can repair. Their memories do not transfer between bodies, so the notebook supplies continuity that the skill itself withholds. Gong-ja defeats one puppet in a Magic Tower by forcing Lefanta to sacrifice memory for repeated bursts of power, but another body immediately activates. At this point the corpus does not establish whether any surviving puppet is Lefanta's biological original, and his later restoration does not resolve that question. (Chapters 124–129 and 137)

Gong-ja attacks the deeper problem by placing the summoned Constellation Killer, Kim Yul's former class president, and himself inside a story that recreates the student's trauma. Immersion forces the current Lefanta to inhabit Kim Yul's body and feel the rage he had reduced to an inaccessible record. When he emerges, he says he understands and will remember Kim Yul. Gong-ja refuses to treat recovered victimhood as an excuse, instead demanding that Lefanta also remember every person harmed by the Constellations he killed and not repeat his bullies' claim that forgotten suffering no longer matters. (Chapters 139–147)

Lefanta accepts the demand. He replaces his ordinary notebook with The Epic of Lefanta Aegim, a record through which he can gradually reread and relive the centuries he discarded, and accepts Hamustra's offer of work in the Great Library. He also forgives the former class president, now an orphanage director whose adult life was built around remembering him. As Kim Yul, he begins organizing children's books at Cafe Planetarium with the Director and Hamustra. Recovery does not reverse his history; it gives him a method to face it without paying for strength by deleting himself again. (Chapters 147–151)

Family Shadow and chosen service

Gong-ja later gives the summoned Kim Yul an independent body. He compresses Kim Yul's stored memory-pattern through the Earth Bone Dragon's Box and creates what later chapters identify as a fourteenth puppet, distinct from the thirteen bodies still operating as the Constellation Killer. This recreated Kim Yul resembles Lefanta and retains the relevant skills and experience, but he is no longer a replaceable manifestation under Gong-ja's summoning authority. The act gives his restored identity a body in which it can accumulate a continuing life. (Chapters 238–239 and 372)

Kim Yul immediately demonstrates that his old survival strategy remains tempting. After reading a beautiful passage, he sacrifices the memory of it for a powerful aura slash, then reasons that more beautiful things remain ahead. Gong-ja rejects that logic, removes the yellow rubber band Kim used as a hair tie, gives him an ordinary tie, and asks that his notebook record the family he is building rather than a ledger of memories to discard. Kim accepts appointment as Family Shadow, leader of the Memorial Squadron, and head of the Death King Family's intelligence and espionage work. His vow is freely made, but it is also bounded by Gong-ja's command to preserve rather than consume himself. (Chapters 238–240)

In the race stages, Kim acts as strategist, swordsman, and field officer. He detects hostile possession, studies enemy formations, advises Gong-ja, and uses aura strikes capable of cutting down possessed bodies. He coordinates the family's support during the Infernal Heavens formation and treats intelligence as a responsibility toward a community rather than preparation for a solitary hunt. His work with Uburka combines the goblin's overwhelming force with Kim's precise reading of the battlefield. (Chapters 242–250)

His place in the family also gives him relationships that cannot be reduced to obedience. Sylvia Evanail and Kim bicker, criticize each other's work, and still operate as close fellow retainers. Gong-ja calls him a subordinate but also protects his right to remain Kim Yul rather than an expendable weapon. Kim in turn addresses Gong-ja as Family Head, provides unsentimental advice, and can scold him rather than merely affirm him. Service becomes the life he chooses after recovering agency, not another name under which Lefanta disappears. (Chapters 239–252 and 388)

Thirteen shadows and the Garden of Withered Flowers

The older thirteen puppets remain a separate danger. Because Puppeteer's Parade never shared memories between bodies, restoring Kim Yul in a fourteenth body does not convert the others. The thirteen continue hunting Constellations according to the Constellation Killer's mission, while identical diary entries provide shared operational information without merging their experiences. They eventually prepare thirty days of memory in each body, coordinate memory-fueled suicide attacks, and use specialized equipment to isolate Gong-ja in frozen space-time. (Chapters 372–374)

Kim Yul can enter their hidden sanctuary because he is the identity-root from which those puppets derive and an apostle with the required access. He uses temporarily supplied coordinates to infiltrate the space, summons Gong-ja, and buys time against the parallel bodies. Calling him their “origin” describes the restored personal identity, not proof that his recreated body is the biological original. The raid therefore places one Kim Yul against thirteen physically earlier continuations who never underwent his recovery. (Chapters 375–376)

The Death King Family destroys the thirteen, and Kim personally confronts the last Constellation Killer. He acknowledges that the other body is both foolish and still “you,” admitting fear rather than denying their shared history. He then cuts it down, ending the campaign carried on in his old name. As the sanctuary collapses, Kim remembers his father and his school shoes but says that the place is no longer his home. The thirteen dead puppets are later summoned together as a withered lily-of-the-valley flower; they do not survive as additional Kim Yuls. (Chapters 377–378)

Gong-ja's sanctuary gives Kim a final form of guardianship. He becomes a gardener and protector of the Garden of Withered Flowers, working with Shiny, Sylvia, and the Director to care for lives and memories placed there. He reconciles with Shiny, whom Lefanta once split and sealed, and helps her mobilize the garden's residents when needed. By Chapter 388 he is still alive, keeps his notebook, uses aura through ordinary pruning tools, trades increasingly emotional jokes with Sylvia, and walks with his fellow gardeners to Cafe Planetarium. The former Constellation Killer's latest work is not deciding which gods deserve death but protecting a place where damaged people may continue living. (Chapters 381–388)

Appearance and personality

The original Kim Yul is a small Korean high-school student with black hair and dark eyes. Poverty is visible in his dirty shirt collar and worn belongings, details his classmates use to mark him as an acceptable target. His slight body and subdued manner contrast with the force of his final message and with the care he gives the neglected school animals. (Chapters 125 and 132–138)

Lefanta and the recreated adult Kim Yul have long silver hair, deep blue eyes, and a strikingly handsome, usually expressionless face. He carries a notebook and keeps his hair tied back, first with a yellow rubber band and later with the ordinary hair tie Gong-ja gives him. His resemblance to Raviel Ivansia is explained through their distant family line rather than either being a transformation of the other. (Chapters 124–129 and 238–239)

As the Constellation Killer, he is quiet, methodical, skeptical, and frighteningly willing to spend himself. His crusade against Constellations is grounded in a serious concern for human freedom, but missing memories narrow that principle into a rule he can no longer test against the lives he destroys. His notebooks compensate for amnesia while also making his personality procedural: the next body follows conclusions whose emotional and moral context it never lived. (Chapters 124–129 and 137)

The restored Kim Yul remains precise, analytical, and dryly blunt. He does not suddenly become carefree, and he can still treat sacrifice as the fastest answer, but the family repeatedly draws out loyalty, embarrassment, humor, and anger. His mature agency lies in accepting responsibility for Lefanta without allowing that history to exhaust his identity. He remembers the victim, judges the killer, and chooses the relationships in which the surviving Kim Yul will continue. (Chapters 147–151, 239–250, and 377–388)

Abilities and skills

Kim Yul's abilities combine two high-rank skills acquired through the Guardian Goddess, centuries of sword and constellation-hunting experience, aura, and the investigative discipline he later applies as Family Shadow. His thirteen-body network is destroyed by Chapter 377; the corpus does not show the surviving fourteenth Kim Yul recreating it afterward.

Salvation of a Torn Goddess

Salvation of a Torn Goddess is an A+-rank skill that exchanges memories for temporary power. The more important the sacrificed memory, the stronger the resulting enhancement. Lefanta uses it to produce immense aura, strengthen sword attacks, survive otherwise unwinnable battles, and cross gaps in power, but the enhancement expires while the lost memory does not return. The asymmetry explains both his legendary strength and his progressive disappearance as a person. (Chapters 128–129 and 137)

The skill is flexible rather than a catalogue of fixed spells. Lefanta trades memories for the ability required by the moment, while later bodies prepare measured blocks of time as fuel for specific attacks. The thirteen puppets can each spend their own memories, allowing coordinated flashes and explosions, but that multiplication also destroys thirteen separate continuities. Kim's later resolve to remember places a moral limit on a skill whose mechanical description supplies none. (Chapters 129, 239, and 372–374)

Puppeteer's Parade

Puppeteer's Parade is an S-rank skill that creates thirteen puppets with the user's appearance and abilities. When the active puppet dies, another awakens; inactive damaged puppets repair, producing an artificial form of persistence. Memories are not shared between bodies. The same-looking bodies are consequently parallel continuations rather than one mind operating thirteen locations at once. (Chapter 137)

Written diaries bridge that separation. By Chapter 372, equivalent entries are present across the puppets' notebooks, giving them common plans and information even though their lived memories remain isolated. Gong-ja's recreated fourteenth body receives Kim Yul's restored memories, while the pre-existing thirteen remain Constellation Killers. All thirteen are destroyed in the later raid, and only Kim Yul's recreated body continues; the withered flower summoned from their deaths is a memorial form, not a restored puppet network. (Chapters 372–378)

Aura, swordsmanship, and constellation hunting

Centuries of war make Kim an elite swordsman and aura user independent of his memory-payment skill. He reads magical spaces, fights through bodies with different abilities, measures enemy formations, and releases slashes capable of killing powerful possessed vessels. He also knows how Constellations conceal sanctuaries and how their authorities interact, knowledge that lets him infiltrate the Constellation Killer's final refuge. (Chapters 124–129, 242–250, and 373–377)

His expertise has limits. Repeated memory sacrifice can produce overwhelming bursts but degrades the judgment that decides why to fight. The thirteen bodies require preparation and specialized tools to restrain Gong-ja, while Kim survives the sanctuary battle through family cooperation rather than solitary superiority. His current use of aura through pruning shears shows that the power remains, but his latest role directs it toward protection and cultivation. (Chapters 372–377 and 388)

Intelligence and record keeping

Kim is a skilled investigator, organizer, and field analyst. The habits created by amnesia make him meticulous about written evidence; after joining the family, he turns that discipline toward intelligence gathering, identifying possession, tracking actors across stages, and advising on operational risks. Gong-ja formally places him over the Memorial Squadron and the family's espionage work. (Chapters 124–129 and 239–250)

Record keeping is also part of his recovery. The Epic lets him approach discarded centuries without consuming them all at once, while the family notebook is meant to preserve shared life rather than merely direct the next combat body. It cannot automatically restore a memory sacrificed to the Goddess, and identical diary entries never make the thirteen puppets one consciousness. Its value is continuity chosen through attention, the opposite of power purchased through forgetting. (Chapters 147–151, 239, and 372)

• Kim Gong-ja: Gong-ja defeats one Constellation Killer body, forces Lefanta to experience Kim Yul's trauma, and refuses to let recovered victimhood excuse later killings. He then gives the restored Kim an independent body, appoints him Family Shadow, and orders him to preserve his memories. Kim's loyalty is deep but includes criticism and independent judgment.
• Ja Soo-jung: As a middle-school student, Ja helps Kim tend the school's animals and later preserves his true face when administering the contradiction in his trauma stage. Her memory makes it possible for Gong-ja to encounter Kim Yul rather than a substituted image, although she does not personally merge the surviving Kim with the thirteen puppets.
• Sylvia Evanail: A fellow Death King Family retainer and gardener. Sylvia and Kim insult, correct, and assist one another with the familiarity of close colleagues; their late-life banter is one sign that Kim's emotional range is returning.
• Hamustra: The librarian who helps turn Lefanta's life into an Epic and offers him work and apostolic access. Hamustra provides a way to revisit the past through reading rather than destroy it for power.
• Shiny: The Goddess of Protection whom Lefanta divided into five sword-vessels. They later reconcile as gardeners in Gong-ja's sanctuary, changing a former captor-and-captive history into shared responsibility for the Garden.
• Uburka: Kim's powerful family comrade. During the race stages and the final Constellation Killer raid, Kim supplies analysis and precise sword support while Uburka supplies overwhelming force.
