Baek Jongdo

Baek Jongdo is the forty-two-year-old president of KH Guild and one of Korea's leading Physical Type Awakened. Cheerful, wealthy, and almost impervious to embarrassment, he quickly turns an international meeting with Kang Woojin into an informal friendship. His admiration develops into practical cooperation: he lends transport, directs his guild to help Woojin, joins dimensional expeditions, and eventually raises his measured rank to AA through training on Jaku. Biography

A Korean rival and ally

Jongdo meets Woojin while Korean guild representatives are gathered in the United States. Instead of maintaining formal distance, he reenacts a greeting from a popular drama, shares his enjoyment without concern for appearances, and earns the younger man's amused respect. Woojin begins calling him “Jongdo bro,” while Jongdo treats the connection as more than celebrity proximity. During the Daegu Dungeon Break he abandons a scheduled dungeon run to fight an Ice Troll, and he later instructs KH personnel never to oppose Woojin and to help whenever possible. That alliance becomes operational when Alandal needs his private plane. Jongdo provides it without treating the favor as a debt, travels with Woojin's group to Japan, and eagerly joins a dimensional dungeon expedition. His fondness for selfies and social-media attention makes him look unserious, but he accepts Woojin's authority once inside. He recognizes that joining a battle would not shorten the clear time, avoids interfering merely to display his rank, and focuses instead on observing, recording, and helping the group recover loot. Dimensional expeditions

Jongdo continues accompanying Woojin during repeated dungeon clears and then joins Alandal's Jaku expedition as its Physical Type fighter. On Jaku he fights at the front with Do Jaemin, crushes an Ogre and other monsters with blackened fists, and holds a canyon against charging Orcs. Buffs from Blanka make his reinforced body function like steel, while Melody's support helps him continue through accumulated fatigue. He is powerful but realistic about the gap between himself and Woojin, choosing useful teamwork over empty competition. (Chapters 60, 69–71)

When offered the choice to remain, Jongdo wants the extraordinary hunting ground but cannot abandon KH Guild to enter Alandal permanently. He returns to Earth after nearly a month of Jaku time, having watched Sunggoo and Jaemin grow at a pace that makes even him feel ordinary. The training nevertheless produces a measurable result: his reassessment rises to AA rank. Jongdo leaves the expedition as both a stronger Awakened and a continuing external ally, preserving his own guild rather than converting admiration for Woojin into dependency. Appearance and personality

The chapters identify Jongdo as forty-two years old but provide little detailed physical description. His most distinctive visual feature in battle is the blackening of his fists and arms when Body Reinforcement activates. Outside combat he presents himself casually, often grinning, laughing, taking photographs, or eating while more anxious companions remain formal. His wealthy background is reflected in access to a private plane and elite food, though he is visibly delighted by unfamiliar dungeon meals rather than aloof about them. Jongdo is exuberant, impulsive, curious, generous, and socially fearless. He follows moods and enjoys small novelties, from television greetings to strange drinks, with an enthusiasm that embarrasses his assistant Jung Chansung. That playfulness coexists with judgment: he immediately answers an emergency, cautions his guild against provoking Woojin, admits when his intervention would add nothing, and refuses to desert KH Guild for a more profitable training ground. His confidence matures into cooperation without losing the humor that first creates the friendship. (Chapters 37–39, 47, 51, 59–60, 69, 73, 75–76)

Abilities and class

Jongdo is an extreme Physical Type Awakened whose principal demonstrated ability is Body Reinforcement. When activated, his fists and arms turn black, his skin becomes hard enough to break an undeveloped vampire's fangs, and he can charge through enemies like a bulldozer. With Blanka's Strength and Speed Buffs, the reinforcement makes him comparable to a steel human and lets him fight at the front for extended periods. He still accumulates fatigue and can be pushed to exhaustion, so toughness does not make him tireless or immune to sustained pressure. (Chapters 47, 69–71)

His combat style centers on close-range punches, direct charges, and bodily durability rather than weapons or ranged attacks. On Jaku he crushes an Ogre's head, attacks burrowing monsters, restrains a berserk Jaemin, and holds waves of Orcs alongside him. Jongdo recognizes that this specialization contributes little when Woojin clears an entire dungeon in minutes or when kiting and large-scale magic dominate a battle. After the Jaku training period, his official measurement reaches AA rank, but the corpus does not provide a numerical stat sheet or show what threshold changed in the reassessment. • Kang Woojin: Jongdo's initial fascination becomes an informal elder-brother friendship and durable guild alliance. He lends Woojin his plane, helps without demanding debt, accepts his lead in dungeons, and grows stronger through access to Jaku while remaining president of KH Guild. • Hong Sunggoo: Jongdo enjoys Sunggoo's public fame, takes photographs with him, and later travels alongside him.
