Demon Monarch’s Sword

History

Jinwoo Sung acquires the Demon Monarch’s Sword from Balan’s remains after defeating the final boss of the Demon’s Castle. It is recovered alongside the Demon Monarch’s Daggers, the final piece of the Demon Monarch’s Jewelry Set, and the material Jinwoo needs to complete the Elixir of Life.

Jinwoo later grants the sword to Igris during a formal duel. Igris receives it with deep gratitude and continues using it as one of the Shadow Army’s foremost swordsmen. During the campaign against Japan’s giants, he attacks a giant boss from the air with the sword’s lightning.

Properties and use

The longsword channels blue electrical energy. A swing can release lightning at range rather than requiring the blade to make direct contact. In Igris’s duel, a missed bolt crosses the training gym and leaves a scorched mark on the wall. Against a giant, repeated discharges force the creature to evade while Jinwoo and other shadows close in.

Its combination of a conventional knightly form and ranged elemental power makes it especially well suited to Igris. Jinwoo owns and stores the weapon through the System, but Igris is its principal battlefield wielder.
