Demon Monarch’s Daggers

History

Jinwoo Sung obtained the Demon Monarch’s Daggers after defeating Balan at the top of the Demon’s Castle. Unlike the single usable Barca’s Dagger, the reward provided a matched pair built around Jinwoo’s preferred dual-wielding style.

The daggers became his standard weapons during the Jeju Island crisis, where he used them against the ant army. They remained with him through later confrontations with dungeon monsters, the Architect’s stone statues, giants, and powerful hunters. Jinwoo could summon either blade directly from his inventory, allowing him to shift between a single dagger and the complete pair without carrying them openly.

Their limits became clear against enemies whose defenses exceeded their cutting power. The blades failed to pierce the Architect’s colossal form effectively and struggled against Thomas Andre’s reinforced skin and other exceptionally durable opponents. Jinwoo consequently sought a still stronger weapon. After he received Kamish’s Wrath, the dragon-fang daggers replaced the Demon Monarch’s set.

Properties and use

Each dagger had an acquisition difficulty of S and granted 220 attack power. When both were equipped, the Two in One set effect added Jinwoo’s current strength stat to the attack power of each blade. At the time he inspected them, their practical performance was roughly four times that of Barca’s Dagger.

The pair combined high base damage with the speed and versatility of daggers. Jinwoo integrated them into his existing close-combat skills, used them one at a time or together, and could throw or recall them through telekinetic control. They were durable enough to clash with stone weapons and mana constructs, and their set bonus continued to scale as Jinwoo’s strength increased.

Their power nevertheless depended on a blade being able to penetrate the target. Against extremely hardened bodies, adding more force could not fully overcome the material limit of the weapon itself. That weakness, rather than any problem with their handling, ultimately prompted their replacement.

Associated characters

Jinwoo was the paired daggers’ only known wielder. They served as his signature equipment during the period between his conquest of the Demon’s Castle and his acquisition of Kamish’s Wrath.
