Barca’s Dagger

History

Jinwoo Sung obtained Barca’s Dagger after defeating Barca, the ice-elf boss of the red gate. Barca had wielded a matching pair, but one blade was damaged beyond use during the battle. Jinwoo discarded the ruined weapon and kept the intact dagger.

Its superior statistics immediately displaced Kasaka’s Venom Fang. Jinwoo paired the new blade with Knight Killer, using the combination through subsequent raids and the Demon’s Castle. Barca’s Dagger helped him cut into Vulcan’s neck, fight high orcs, strike a demon hidden by stealth, and block Demon Monarch Balan’s sword.

The dagger remained a major part of Jinwoo’s equipment until the completion of the Demon’s Castle. The Demon Monarch’s Daggers then replaced it with much higher attack power and a dedicated set effect.

Properties and use

Barca’s Dagger had an acquisition difficulty of A, granted 110 attack power, and increased agility by 10. It was a beautifully curved weapon, light in the hand because of a powerful weightlessness spell. The enchantment let its wielder move the blade with greater speed and agility without sacrificing its cutting force.

The dagger’s combination of attack power and handling made it a clear upgrade over Jinwoo’s earlier poison weapon. It worked equally well in direct exchanges, surprise throws, and a two-weapon stance. Its curved edge was capable of catching or deflecting larger weapons, as demonstrated when Jinwoo used it defensively against Balan’s sword.

Associated characters

Jinwoo was the dagger’s only known owner. It was both a trophy from the red gate and a practical step in the development of his dual-dagger combat style.
