Kasaka’s Venom Fang
History
Kasaka’s Venom Fang dropped after Jinwoo Sung defeated the blue venom-fanged Kasaka in the instance dungeon. It replaced the steel sword that had broken during the fight and became his principal weapon through the beginning of his growth as a hunter.
Jinwoo used the dagger against the giant spider of the C-rank dungeon and later carried it into the Demon’s Castle, where he fought Cerberus. It also served him in his encounters with Kang Taesik, the lizardmen, Igris, and the giant centipedes summoned by a penalty quest. Against Igris, the narrow blade proved especially useful when Jinwoo drove it into an exposed eye.
In the red gate, Jinwoo paired Kasaka’s Venom Fang with Knight Killer while fighting Barca. After the battle, he compared it with the newly obtained Barca’s Dagger. The stronger A-rank weapon replaced it, bringing the Fang’s period as his primary dagger to an end.
Properties and use
Kasaka’s Venom Fang had an acquisition difficulty of C and granted 25 attack power. The blade was fashioned from one of the Kasaka’s fangs and retained two venom effects. Paralysis prevented a poisoned opponent from moving for a set period, while Drain reduced the target’s health by one percent per second for a limited time.
Those effects made the dagger particularly dangerous during Jinwoo’s early battles, when even a shallow wound could weaken an enemy while he continued attacking. They were not absolute: Taesik’s high resistance allowed him to cancel the venom. Even without poison, the blade’s compact shape and improved attack power made it a reliable replacement for ordinary steel.
Associated characters
Jinwoo was the dagger’s sole known owner. It marked his transition from improvised weapons to equipment earned through the System and remained part of his dual-wielding style until stronger drops made it obsolete.
