Yu Honghu

Yu Honghu, also called Hong Hu, is a popular god-ranked pilot selected for DreamNet's Star Alliance in its public contest against the Four Divine Monarchs. He pilots the two-headed dragon mecha Bahamut and synchronizes it with an Ice-and-Fire Hydra metamorphosis Discipline. Chapter 272 once prints “Yu Hongyuan” inside his introduction, but the surrounding dialogue and every subsequent reference identify the same pilot as Yu Honghu; the isolated form does not establish another character. Biography

Star Alliance's frustrated tactician

Mo Xiao introduces Yu Honghu as a flight specialist, battlefield architect, and the pilot Hua Li would choose to strengthen the Divine Monarchs. Although Yu admires Poseidon, he insists that defeating him is the proper form of respect. In the first Star Alliance engagement, Bahamut controls the Wheel of Fortune while teammates defend it, but the Monarchs' deception delays his response and catches the formation before it can secure the objective. Yu's later attempt to finish a disabled opponent is itself trapped by another hidden mechanism, ending his simulated participation without physical injury. (Chapters 272–281)

Embarrassment makes Yu determined to display his real strength in the Dark Forest rematch, yet he remains team-minded enough to report Thor's location and pursue only while allies converge. He uses Bahamut's ranged pressure, terrain familiarity, and his own transformation to avoid an immediate positional loss. Lan Jue nevertheless crosses the safe distance with unexpected speed and destroys Bahamut after overpowering its defenses. Yu recognizes that the second defeat comes from insufficient power rather than merely a bad tactical read. He is last directly present with the defeated Star Alliance members in Chapter 288; the corpus gives him no later individual career or fate. (Chapters 284–288)

Appearance and personality

Yu Honghu has an average build and a deliberately divided color scheme: half his hair is red and half blue, matched by his mask and flight suit. When his Discipline engages, similarly divided blue and red scales appear across his body. The visual design reflects the paired ice-and-fire nature of both pilot and mecha. He is proud, ambitious, analytical, and competitive without being disloyal to his team. His confidence appears in the aspiration attached to his name and his determination to honor Poseidon through victory. Defeat affects him deeply, but in the rematch he communicates first, tests an unknown power, and waits for reinforcement instead of assuming that pride alone can beat Zeus. Disciplines and abilities

Yu is a god-ranked pilot ranked fourteenth in DreamNet's aggregate combat standings at the exhibition. He specializes in aerial control, difficult terrain, long-range probing, pursuit, and coordinating teammates. Bahamut is a large two-headed dragon mecha with wings, scanners, a hammer-like tail, and paired breath attacks that track targets. Its size and weaponry improve power and endurance but do not prevent Thor from closing distance faster than Yu can react. (Chapters 272, 275, and 284–285)

His Discipline is metamorphosis into an Ice-and-Fire Hydra. Red and blue scales spread over his body as he channels the transformation through Bahamut, strengthening the mecha and its two elemental breath weapons. Bahamut can enter its own conjoined breath energy to form a protective bubble. The defense survives ordinary positional pressure but fails against Zeus's empowered lightning and superior output; Yu's speed specialization is likewise outclassed by Thor's short burst. All demonstrated defeats occur inside DreamNet and do not injure his physical body. (Chapters 284–285)

• Hua Li: Yu is a fan of Hua Li's Poseidon persona. Hua Li reportedly considers him an ideal additional Monarch because his tactics connect and strengthen a team.
• Lan Jue: Lan Jue's Zeus persona deceives and eliminates Yu in one simulation, then defeats his full Discipline-enhanced Bahamut through superior speed and power in the rematch.
• Mo Xiao: Mo Xiao presents Yu to the public and frames his reputation as both a popular beast-form pilot and a battlefield tactician.
