Huan Xue

Huan Xue is the time-aligned Paragon known formally as the Epochrion and within Skyfire Avenue as the Clockmaker. These are three names for the same woman, not separate Paragons: Huan Xue is her personal name, Epochrion her Paragon title, and Clockmaker the Avenue identity tied to her shop. She leaves Skyfire after an unreturned love for the Clairvoyant, becomes the Terminator’s partner in the Great Conclave, and returns home after the Clairvoyant’s death. Her time control later becomes essential to Star Division and the final defense.

Biography

The absent Clockmaker in the North

Huan Xue first appears beside the Terminator as the Epochrion, one of the few Paragons already at Reflection of Heaven and Earth. Tournament intelligence connects her time Discipline to Yan Ningya, her disciple, and to the empty Clockmaker shop on Skyfire Avenue. The evidence establishes a prior Avenue life before her Northern leadership. Her calm assessment of Jun Yongye’s sword comprehension also shows a Paragon willing to recognize mastery outside formal rank. (Chapters 392–451)

Her departure arose from personal pain rather than ideological rejection of Skyfire. Huan Xue loved the Clairvoyant, who regarded her as a sister, while the Wine Master loved her. Misunderstanding around Luo Xianni briefly gave her hope, and the Clairvoyant’s failure to return her affection made leaving easier than remaining near him. The corpus does not present this private cause as proof that her Northern service was false; she becomes a genuine partner to the Terminator under an agreement that she may leave if she chooses. Returning after the future-seer is gone

When the Clairvoyant dies, Huan Xue tells the Terminator she is going back. She had refused a final visit because seeing the Clairvoyant near death would reopen the past, but once he is gone she can reclaim the identity she never stopped considering hers: Skyfire’s Clockmaker. The Terminator protests because losing a Reflection-level Paragon is a strategic disaster, yet honors their original agreement. One week later she reopens the shop. (Chapter 531)

The return is chosen rather than requested or guaranteed. Huan Xue says she will go even if the Avenue does not want her, then resumes ordinary cleaning by hand. The Wine Master watches with the affection he has carried for years. By the time Pauper ascends, the Epochrion is counted among Skyfire’s seven Paragons, and Northern observers treat her loss as final even though she does not attack her former allies. A former Northerner representing Skyfire

Huan Xue joins the alien scouting work, escorts vital crystals, and publicly leads Skyfire Avenue’s Paragon delegation. On returning to the North she greets the Terminator without hostility and tells him that Skyfire has always been part of her and that she does not expect to leave again. Her shift of affiliation therefore does not require contempt for her former partner; the two remain capable of cooperation when humanity needs both organizations. (Chapters 637–648)

Her rank makes her one of the few defenders able to threaten the Astral Phantom directly. That reputation contributes to the infiltrator’s calculations, although other newly risen Paragons ultimately alter the encounter. Huan Xue also helps guard and assess resources whose value could attract whole armies. Her role is control and institutional weight more than solitary pursuit. (Chapters 637–648)

Making time for the human defense

In the counteroffensive, Huan Xue serves in the Terminator-led rescue group with Western and Eastern Paragons. During Star Division’s stand, she unfolds a small clock into a stellar interior and slows an alien charge almost to stillness. The Wine Master then uses spatial control to rescue exhausted soldiers and remove high-level threats. Their space-time partnership lets ordinary troops hold a line that speed alone would have shattered. (Chapters 771 and 820–822)

The Domain has limits. Massive shockwaves can break through it, large hordes exhaust its user, and Infinite-level avatars can crush repeated space-time interference. In the final campaigns Huan Xue, Wine Master, Pauper, and Driver can contain such a creature only through cooperation and only temporarily. Her Reflection rank makes the defense possible, not sustainable without the Banishing Strategy’s success. (Chapters 822 and 868–874)

Clockmaker at the last line

Later chapters use Clockmaker and Epochrion interchangeably for Huan Xue. She stands among the twelve Paragons protecting the sword bearers, explicitly one of the group’s few Reflections. She and Wine Master hold hands as more comrades die, and his declaration that he finally earned her heart confirms that their long one-sided relationship has become mutual before the end. They continue fighting rather than spending their lives in the scientists’ sacrificial attack. (Chapters 891–894)

When the Banishing Strategy needs faith, Huan Xue is the first defender to call the stunned armada back to action. She orders humanity to pray and frames unity as the strength that can sustain the formation. She is alive at humanity’s victory in Chapter 899. Appearance and personality

Huan Xue is a beautiful woman with a youthful appearance despite her age, ranked just below the story’s most exceptional beauties. She carries a small, quaint clock and is associated with multicolored light. Her composed movements and gentle speech contrast with the enormous temporal pressure of her Domain. The Clockmaker shop and her habit of cleaning it personally preserve an ordinary craft identity beneath the Epochrion’s cosmic title. (Chapters 531, 640–648, and 820–822)

She is calm, self-possessed, loyal to chosen commitments, and unwilling to let others decide where she belongs. Her greatest wound is emotional avoidance: she leaves rather than live beside unreturned love and refuses the Clairvoyant’s final summons. Yet she does not turn pain into cruelty. She honors the Terminator, returns without demanding welcome, grows close to Wine Master on her own terms, and uses precise control to preserve less powerful lives. Disciplines and abilities

Time control and the Epochrion Domain

Huan Xue controls the flow of time within a Domain, slowing targets to near-stillness and taking away the speed advantage of massed enemies. Her small clock opens to a field of stars as the focus of that manifestation. At Reflection of Heaven and Earth she can affect huge battle zones, but she does not literally stop all time everywhere. Powerful waves can shatter the Domain, sustained hordes drain her, and Infinite opponents resist or crush its effects. (Chapters 392–433, 648, 820–822, and 868–874)

Precision attacks and space-time cooperation

She can pair slowed time with cutting white or polychromatic force, killing immobilized aliens before their bodies fully react. With Wine Master’s dimensional control, temporal delay becomes a battlefield system: she fixes or slows threats while he extracts allies and relocates danger. The partnership is especially effective for protecting formations but still depends on both Paragons’ stamina and cannot permanently imprison an avatar several classes above them. Reflection-level perception

Huan Xue’s mature protogenic understanding lets her recognize Jun Yongye’s sword intention and judge other Paragons’ breakthroughs. Her status places her among humanity’s strongest known second-degree Paragons before Lan Qing’s rise. Perception and seniority do not grant omniscience; she can misjudge an infiltrator’s plan and relies on colleagues for spatial movement, offense, and protection when facing stronger enemies. Relationships

• Clairvoyant: The man she loved and left Skyfire to escape. His inability to return that love shapes her exile, while his death removes the barrier to reclaiming her Clockmaker identity.
• Wine Master: A longtime friend who loved her before she could answer him. After her return they rebuild their closeness, fight as a space-time pair, and are explicitly a mutual couple by the final defense.
• Terminator: Her Northern partner and former organizational leader. He regrets losing her power but honors the agreement allowing her to return, and they later fight together for humanity.
