Ji Mu

Ji Mu, frequently rendered as Qi Mu and once as Ju Mu, is the Wolf King of the Dark Citadel. He is a genetically enhanced close-combat specialist whose three-stage lycanthropic transformation carries him into the Great Adept Tournament's round-robin quarterfinals.

Dark Citadel representative

Ji Mu first appears as a burly, volatile member of the Dark Citadel delegation who insults both the Pontiff's angels and Skyfire Avenue until the Wine Master forces him to sit down. At the Great Adept Tournament he is revealed as a successful recipient of fantascia genetica and one of the Citadel's rising fighters. He defeats the Bartender after unveiling a winged second metamorphosis, advancing alongside Jiang Yuan and giving the Dark Citadel two representatives in the round-robin stage. In his quarterfinal group, Ji Mu's preparation, agility, and incomplete third metamorphosis make him the first competitor to pressure Titan seriously, but Titan's greater defense and force compel his surrender. Ji Mu then underestimates the lower-ranked Zeus. Lan Jue turns that contempt into an early advantage, survives the third form through Taiji, and warns that continuing will cause lasting injury; Ji Mu concedes rather than destroy his health. He later defeats Bing Yu after both have already lost their chance to advance and is last shown alive with Lucifer's delegation after the tournament. (Chapters 437–443, 451–469, 487)

Appearance and personality

In human form Ji Mu is a burly man with cold, hard eyes and an aggressive manner. His first transformation produces a giant humanoid wolf with golden-yellow eyes, coarse crimson hair, and a visible aura of bloodlust. The second becomes a regal silver-white wolf with wings, while the third shrinks the body beneath burning crimson energy. He is rude, lascivious, and easily provoked, but not mindless: he studies opponents, attacks tactical weak points, and concedes when defeat or permanent damage is clear. Three metamorphoses

Ji Mu is an acquired metamorphosis Talent strengthened by fantascia genetica. At the tournament he is ninth-level eighth-ranked in his ordinary combat state, with exceptional speed, strength, defense, energy, and close-combat technique. His second metamorphosis creates a larger winged wolf and pushes him toward the peak of ninth level. His third metamorphosis grants near-protogenic speed and force comparable to ninth-level ninth rank, but it is incomplete and achieved through overload rather than a true Paragon transformation. Technique and limits

The Wolf King combines claws, aerial movement, rapid joint extension, and techniques such as Piercing Charge with careful target selection. His balanced abilities let him survive Titan's force and repeatedly threaten weak points that a less technical fighter would miss. The third form rapidly burns his blood and strains his body, however, so maintaining it risks lasting harm; powerful defense or a soft counter such as Taiji can outlast and redirect his superior raw force. • Lucifer: Lucifer leads Ji Mu's delegation, excuses his outbursts, and later watches his tournament performance without betraying concern. (Chapters 258, 431, 487)
• Jiang Yuan: Ji Mu and Jiang Yuan are the Dark Citadel's two successful young representatives. Ji Mu is the more openly physical fighter, while Jiang Yuan is treated as the delegation's deeper trump card. (Chapters 429–431, 487)
