Winter of That Year

Winter of That Year is an unaffiliated expert archer who becomes an accidental guardian of Ling Tian City after discovering it during construction. Talkative, vain, and easily moved by beauty, he nevertheless keeps his promise for months, defeats intruders with precise archery, and later joins Ling Chen’s covert network under the codename Winter. Biography

Heart’s Dream and the First Guild

Winter first appears through public player records as a rising archer, then directly as a white-clothed flirt carrying a silver longbow. He boasts about wealth, women, and finding valuable plates, while Hundred Miles of Ice repeatedly dismisses him as an idiot. The comedy masks genuine skill: his early equipment and progression already mark him as an unusually capable independent player. (Chapters 138, 181, and 186)

Calamity in the East Ocean Continent

Winter and Hundred Miles of Ice accidentally discover the secret city under construction. Winter initially considers selling the information, but Yun Meng Xin’s appearance overwhelms him; he swears secrecy and volunteers both men to guard the northern approach until construction ends. He follows through rather than treating the promise as empty flirtation, remaining at the post for months and later carrying news of Ling’s East Ocean exploits back to the city. The Defense and Founding of Ling Tian City

After completing his second profession upgrade, Winter returns to guard duty and confronts Cang Yan. Although his available bow is only ordinary equipment for his level, repeated Crippling Feather Arrows strike the center of Cang Yan’s forehead, interrupt his balance, and humiliate the better-funded Flame Wizard. Winter’s grudge and taunting make the encounter personal, but his accurate control prevents the intruder from reaching the hidden city. (Chapters 532–534 and 537)

The Underworld and the Forgotten City

Winter accompanies Ling Tian City’s senior figures into a hostile confrontation and nearly shoots a golden knight before Li Xiao Xue orders restraint. Later, he and Hundred Miles of Ice ask to join Ling’s covert organization; their health is examined, and they receive the codenames Winter and Ice. The examination finds their once-withering lifeforce and senses restored beyond normal health. (Chapters 661 and 702)

The Godchild Crisis and Qi Xing

Winter is absent from the direct Godchild confrontation. Ling later understands that Sha Sha had repaired the failing lifeforce and senses of both Winter and Hundred Miles of Ice, explaining the medical result recorded earlier. The exact original illness and the moment of healing are not depicted, so the revelation establishes cause without a separate recovery scene. (Chapter 810)

Appearance and personality

Winter wears white and initially presents himself in a standard archer ensemble. He describes himself as exceptionally handsome, talks loudly, and reacts to Yun Meng Xin with exaggerated amazement. His vanity, flirtation, and theatrical speech make him appear foolish, especially beside his restrained companion. (Chapters 181 and 435–437)

He is also loyal to promises, brave, and capable of holding a grudge. Months of monotonous guard duty do not make him abandon the city, and insults from Cang Yan bring out a deliberate, humiliating response rather than panic. His impulsiveness remains a limitation, as shown when he nearly fires before Li Xiao Xue restores order. (Chapters 478, 532–534, and 661)

Abilities and powers

Winter is a specialist archer with the Insight detection skill, high accuracy, and strong independent progression. After his second profession upgrade he uses Crippling Feather Arrows, a powerful single-target technique, to land repeated forehead shots against Cang Yan. His performance depends more on aim and control than equipment quality. (Chapters 436 and 532–534)

He is still a player with ordinary mechanical limits. His bow near the construction site is underpowered against Cang Yan’s unusually high health and resources, so several critical strikes are needed to control the fight. No supernatural real-world combat ability is established, and the restoration of his lifeforce comes from Sha Sha rather than his own skill. (Chapters 533–534, 702, and 810)
