Chao Ying
Biography
The Road South and the Fairy Realm
Chao Ying and her twin Chao Xi prepare the Su Hang villa, identities, and practical arrangements that give Ling Chen a secure new home. Both were taken to Hell at about age three and cannot identify which twin is older. Chao Ying’s joy when Ling Chen approves the villa, followed by her alarm when he calls at night, establishes a life organized around service and immediate protection. (Chapters 346–349)
Calamity in the East Ocean Continent
During Ling Chen’s absence, Chao Ying reports that the Long family’s public pursuit has quieted while its covert search continues, giving him a realistic picture of the danger around Su Hang. The period also reveals that she and Chao Xi were shaped into killers before they knew their parents, while local testimony identifies them as Li Yun Ze’s daughters. That recovered origin does not erase their Reaper loyalty or chosen household. (Chapters 432–433, 447–448)
The Defense and Founding of Ling Tian City
Chao Ying returns from Beijing and helps look after Tian Tian, reassuring her that Ling Chen will return. When Tian Tian suddenly collapses after seeing a strange light, Chao Ying carefully reports the sequence rather than inventing a diagnosis, then travels back to Su Hang with the household. Her contribution in this phase is close observation and stable care while larger supernatural causes remain unknown. (Chapters 506, 510–513)
The Moon God Palace and the Shura’s Return
Chao Ying remains part of the villa’s security alongside Chao Xi, Xuanyuan Dia Wu, and Yao Ying, making an unnoticed intrusion seem impossible to Ling Chen. She also carries medicine intended for Gu Qing Han and rushes to Ling Chen with the household after his long absence. These quiet tasks show the Reaper’s role expanding from guard duty into dependable domestic support. (Chapters 703, 713, 723, 746)
The Godchild Crisis and Qi Xing
When Rahu attacks, Chao Ying follows the stronger fighters outside despite seeing that even Fey cannot harm him. During the evacuation she carries Tian Tian and stops when the girl begins glowing and rises from her arms. Chao Ying’s courage and protective instinct are clear, but the confrontation also defines her limit: Reaper training cannot meaningfully oppose a being at Rahu’s level. (Chapters 801, 803–804, 814)
Xiya and the Perfect Moon
After the timeline is restored, Chao Ying helps prepare Ling Chen’s birthday surprise. Years later, she and Chao Xi stand aside smiling while the household receives legal recognition, because they have continued to think of themselves as servants rather than people entitled to equal treatment. Ling Chen nevertheless includes “Li Chao Ying” among the names, acknowledging her as part of his family rather than merely an employee. (Chapters 841, 847)
Appearance and personality
Chao Ying is physically identical to Chao Xi, with long black hair, pale skin, and a graceful build. The twins often dress alike and move together, making them difficult to distinguish on sight. Chao Ying is attentive, calm, and warmly reassuring inside the household, though her early conditioning allows her to become a highly dangerous killer when protection requires violence. (Chapters 347, 432–448, 510)
Abilities and powers
Reaper conditioning
Raised in Hell from early childhood, Chao Ying has elite training in assassination, vigilance, infiltration, driving, and aviation. She can react rapidly to threats and serve as a covert bodyguard without drawing attention. The corpus does not assign her supernatural powers or a complete named technique list, and she remains human against god-tier opponents. (Chapters 347–349, 492, 713, 801–804)
Protective observation
Chao Ying’s most consistently demonstrated skill is accurate situational reporting. She monitors the Long family’s search, notices changes in Tian Tian, and keeps watch over the villa with other Reapers. These abilities make her valuable in prevention and evacuation, although they do not let her diagnose godchild phenomena or overcome enemies such as Rahu. (Chapters 432, 510–513, 713, 803–804)
Relationships
- Chao Xi is Chao Ying’s inseparable twin, fellow Reaper, and closest working partner. Their shared childhood left even them uncertain which is older. (Chapters 346–349, 432–448)
- Ling Chen is her master and later openly recognizes her within his family. Chao Ying prepares his refuge, reports threats, and guards his home. (Chapters 346–349, 432–847)
- Tian Tian receives Chao Ying’s reassurance and physical protection. Chao Ying carries her during Rahu’s attack but cannot control the power awakening within her. (Chapters 510–513, 804)
Items
Chao Ying has no signature item assigned in the article ledger. Vehicles, household equipment, and ordinary weapons support her assignments, but her defining resources are Reaper conditioning, her twin partnership, and access to Ling Chen’s protective network. (Chapters 346–349, 492, 510–513)
