Luciel

Luciel is Michael's twin and the former keeper of the First Light, whose rise as Lucifer ended with his soul divided into fourteen powerful fragments.

Biography

The keeper takes the First Light

Luciel begins as a talented but lowly keeper entrusted with Li's Fragment, the First Light, while serving as Metatron's right-hand man. The power is meant to be safeguarded rather than possessed, yet Luciel swallows it and becomes Lucifer, gaining enough strength to threaten the heavenly world. Because the gods and demons regard one being's control of the fragment as a catastrophic breach, they set aside their divisions and unite against him. (Chapters 309 and 767)

A fall creates the Soulstones

The alliance tears away Luciel's hundreds of wings, and Michael uses the posture of a neutral intermediary to stab his twin through the heart. Luciel refuses to return the First Light even in defeat, splitting his soul as he falls. The result is fourteen Soulstones—seven Virtues and seven Sins—with affinity for both light and darkness; their later owners repeatedly use individual stones to amplify power, preserving Luciel's influence long after his death. (Chapters 248, 309, 355, 644, 757, and 767)

Appearance and personality

At the height of his transformation, Luciel has hundreds of wings and shines as the Lightbringer. Earlier accounts describe him as exceptionally talented and morally trusted, considered by some even more suitable than Metatron to guard Li's Fragment. His decision to take the Light reveals ambition or corruption powerful enough to overcome that reputation, while his last refusal to surrender it shows extreme resolve. (Chapters 309 and 757–767)

Abilities and powers

Swallowing the First Light elevates Luciel into Lucifer and gives him power said to be capable of burning the heavenly world. His nature is neither exclusively god nor demon and has affinity for light and darkness. In defeat, he divides his soul into fourteen stones, each carrying a portion of the First Light; one stone can multiply a bearer's power, but no holder possesses Luciel's complete original state without reassembling the fragments. (Chapters 248, 309, 708, and 757–767)
