Balnanta

Balnanta is the strongest of Kalatus's graveyard keepers, a battle automaton created by dragons experimenting with the maximum strength a player-like construct could achieve. Its sole directive is to keep intruders from disturbing the Dragon Labyrinth's master.

Biography

A single command governs the battlefield

Balnanta sleeps before an iron door until the allied clans enter the labyrinth in force. Its programming recognizes every trespasser, including descendants of Kalatus, as a possible disturbance and issues a warning before attacking. The automaton turns the common hall into chaos, preventing pursuers from following Yeon-woo and forcing high-level players to deal with it instead. Ivan attempts to break past, but Balnanta divides space with its hand and nearly shatters his sword, fulfilling its protective order without negotiation or allegiance to any invading faction. (Chapters 417–421)

Appearance and personality

Balnanta is an artificial humanoid that remains motionless while dormant and trembles awake as it detects multiple trespassers. The corpus does not establish a humanlike personality; its warnings and actions are mechanical expressions of one command. It neither hates intruders nor favors Kalatus's descendants, making its impartiality more dangerous than ordinary loyalty. (Chapters 417–419)

Abilities and powers

Balnanta is a level-five protector, the highest class shown among the labyrinth's automatons and the model behind the Tutorial's copper scarecrows. It can use the blade of its palm to divide space, generate enough force to push back Ivan's Lion Mobilization, and nearly crack a high-level sword in the clash. Its strength is specialized around area denial. The record does not show independent goals, adaptation beyond defensive programming, or activity outside the labyrinth. (Chapters 417–420)
