Strawpin

Strawpin is the head disciple of the Great Silver faction and an acclaimed talent from Empty Star City. She begins as a proud skeptic of Jack Rust and his allies, but cooperation and time spent together soften her view and lead to a relationship with Starhair.

Biography

From factional suspicion to alliance

Strawpin is introduced as the Great Silver faction’s head disciple, praised by her Overlord as an exceptional talent. When Jack appears at the delve and asks her a casual question, she insists on her title and expects formal respect. She guides the group through the Dark Canal and advises Jack about the other factions, but distrusts his irreverence and is wary when he takes the place of her disciples in the expedition. Her priority is protecting her faction and its members, not welcoming an outsider (Chapters 519–521, 524–526).

When the group faces danger, Strawpin helps defend her disciples and commands them to retreat when an enemy is too strong. She grows furious when Jack’s decisions seem to endanger her faction, then fights him and Brock alongside Fiend Prince. Brock overwhelms her, but she later apologizes to Jack after learning that she misjudged his motives. During the journey to the Hall of Trials she shares her knowledge of its tests and history. She and Starhair both achieve Genius marks in the trials, though each falls short of Jack’s exceptional result. Over the following years in the Dark Canal, she and Starhair become partners; when the wider war begins, she fights with the Church’s young cultivators and joins Brock’s formation, contributing her power to the united force (Chapters 527, 529–537, 550, 554–555).

Appearance and personality

Strawpin is a female space monster and princess; her straw hat, strands of straw, and needle-like weapon are identifying features. She is proud and formal when leading her faction, but also protective of its disciples. Her confidence in her talent sometimes becomes overconfidence, while later interactions show a more open and affectionate side (Chapters 519, 524, 527, 550).

Abilities and cultivation

Strawpin is a B-Grade cultivator whose weapon is a needle reinforced by strands of straw. She can deliver many rapid stabs, and wrapping the strands around the needle increases its power at the cost of flexibility. She also has Dao perception, though the scale and exact mechanics are not explained. In battle she relies on speed and accuracy; Brock can initially stop her attack, and she is ultimately beaten by his stronger staff and golden formation (Chapters 527, 555).
