Spacewind
Spacewind is a powerful Church sovereign whose leadership of a hidden-realm expedition is undermined by possessiveness and escalating resentment toward Jack. His ambition turns a dangerous expedition into a series of betrayals, and he dies after Jack returns to settle their conflict. (Chapters 361–488)
Biography
The Expedition Leader and Min Ling’s Suitor
The Black Hole Church appoints Spacewind to lead an expedition into the Green Dragon Realm. He presents himself as a protector of the younger cultivators and promises to keep them safe, while working alongside Min Ling to select participants. His confidence is also personal: when he sees Jack’s growing closeness with Min Ling, Spacewind warns Jack away and says he is already courting her. Min Ling’s response is not reciprocation; she shows open distaste and later ignores his cold greeting while seeking help for Jack. Spacewind’s courtship claim becomes the source of a rivalry he interprets as an insult rather than accepting her choice. (Chapters 361–362, 377–379, 382–384)
At first, Spacewind helps the expedition understand the inner-world environment and encourages the cultivators to pursue its dangers for the opportunities they offer. His concern shifts toward private ambition when the group encounters a sealed cavern and a powerful dragon. Spacewind fights among the leading B-Grades, then urges the survivors to detonate their inner worlds to withstand a lethal wave. When the crisis leaves him and Uruselam weakened and competing for advantage, Spacewind treats the other cultivators as expendable resources: he throws the Envoy Ashly into the black foam and tries to make his own escape through the caverns. His choices preserve his position, but they cost him trust and turn Jack’s allies against him. (Chapters 384–400)
Trapped in the Green Dragon Realm
Spacewind tries to use his spatial abilities to pursue Uruselam through the tunnels, but Jack’s intervention and the realm’s defenses trap the Church cultivators inside. The group eventually establishes a village and investigates a way out; Spacewind becomes increasingly isolated, first losing influence in the group and then stewing alone as Jack refuses to release him. Jack’s reason is practical as well as personal: Spacewind has tried to kill him and could threaten Earth if allowed to return through its teleporter. The confinement removes Spacewind’s immediate power to dictate events, while leaving his resentment intact. (Chapters 401–411)
When Jack returns years later, he finds Spacewind alone in a stone house, still cultivating but visibly worn down. Spacewind attacks as soon as Jack reveals himself, demanding how he survived and how he became so powerful. He frames the conflict as a matter of revenge: Jack had taken his woman, treasures, and reputation, and Spacewind had sworn to cripple him. Jack kills him with one punch before the threat can continue. Spacewind’s story ends with the same grievance that shaped his choices in the expedition, but the final encounter leaves no possibility for him to restore the standing or relationships he lost. (Chapters 487–488)
Appearance and personality
Spacewind is introduced as a valiant-looking, black-haired man and Church sovereign. He has a steady voice, a sharp gaze, and carries a sword. His manner can appear composed and reassuring when addressing an expedition, but he becomes cold and openly possessive when he sees Min Ling beside Jack. Under pressure, he is willing to sacrifice another cultivator to survive and to pursue his own advantage. (Chapters 361, 378–379, 397–399)
Abilities and cultivation
Spacewind is a B-Grade cultivator with a high-level understanding of spatial movement. His spatial power has no formal Dao name; his title alone does not establish a Dao of Wind. He uses spatial restraints, displacement, and a sword in combat. His eventual position as a major force in the expedition does not prevent the Green Dragon Realm from restricting his movement or Jack from killing him after Jack’s strength advances. (Chapters 361, 397, 402–404, 487–488)
Spatial control and combat
Spacewind can cross the air quickly and wield a claw-shaped spatial attack that tears apart another cultivator’s space restraints, moving him through a crack as if he had teleported again. He also exerts control over the expedition’s spatial battlefield and fights with a sword. Against the powerful dragon, he and Uruselam lead the B-Grades in a direct confrontation, but the dragon’s aura exceeds theirs. Spacewind’s battle decisions then emphasize survival over loyalty: he calls for the group to detonate their inner worlds and throws Ashly into the black foam when the situation becomes desperate. The costs and exact limits of his spatial techniques are not specified. (Chapters 386, 397–402)
