Eva Solvig

Eva Solvig is a senior Hand of God enforcer who pursues Jack after he escapes Trial Planet, first to investigate his survival and later to capture him and claim the Life Artifact he carries. She is a measured commander whose pursuit eventually brings her into direct conflict with Jack, where her Purity attacks nearly kill him before he defeats her. (Chapters 223–458)

Biography

The Hand’s Investigation on Trial Planet

Eva first appears as a B-Grade commander meditating on a moon she has claimed for herself. When the Hand discovers that ancient ruins on Trial Planet have been tampered with, she investigates the apparent disappearance of Jack Rust. Her search has found no trace of him, so she is surprised when Huali reveals that he survived, escaped her perception, reached D-Grade, and became the Exploding Sun’s personal disciple. Eva regards the discrepancy as an institutional matter as well as a personal mystery: she tells Huali the Hand will investigate her conduct, then asks to be taken to Jack so she can inspect him herself. (Chapters 223, 265)

Eva’s cultivation carries an effect beyond combat. When she meditates, the land and water around her are purified across a hundred-mile radius: impurities disappear from rivers and the air clears. She remains composed while confined to a remote assignment and later appears as a commander in the Hand’s fleet, but her pursuit is not abandoned. After Jack escapes, Eva helps direct forces through the wider galaxy and keeps Artus Emberheart under the Hand’s command. Her authority depends on discipline; Artus is forced to correct his tone when speaking to her and obeys her orders despite their mutual hostility. (Chapters 275, 285–286, 322)

The Search for Jack and the Purge of the Milky Way

After the war begins, Eva is assigned to purge the Milky Way, partly because she knows the region and partly as punishment for an earlier failure. The assignment gives her a specific objective: find Jack and retrieve the Life Artifact on his body, while taking him alive if possible. Eva and Jack have known one another by reputation for years but have never met face-to-face. During his flight, she keeps after him and warns that no ally can reach him; his only apparent route out is the dangerous gravitational region of the Animal Abyss, where cultivators can vanish in spatial anomalies. (Chapters 415, 423–425)

Eva orders Artus to occupy Earth, but Artus intends to destroy the planet and lie about resistance. Eva’s plan to apprehend Jack is consequently entangled with the safety of the people he protects. When she catches him, she confines him in a field of Purity and explains that the Hand wants him dead, but prefers to capture him alive because of what he carries. Jack throws himself into the Animal Abyss rather than remain in her custody. Eva and the others wait outside for two days, convinced he cannot emerge. His disappearance forces her to revise her assessment: she later watches evidence that he survived and recognizes that he has become a threat capable of killing her. (Chapters 426–428, 446)

The Animal Planet Confrontation

Eva responds to Jack’s return by gathering the Hand’s commanders and the Animal Kingdom’s senior figures. She reports that Jack has already killed Travelus and may have advanced again, then argues that their numbers can contain him if the powerful cultivators remain on Animal Planet. When Jack finally appears, Eva formally condemns him for treason, piracy, mass murder, genocide, and collusion with terrorists. Her orders are to secure him alive if possible; if he resists, she is prepared to kill him. (Chapters 454, 456–457)

The fight shows why Eva had been a dangerous pursuer. Her white palm of Purity leaves an area barren, and she attacks from behind while the other cultivators constrain Jack’s movement. Her strikes diminish the life in his body and nearly stop his heart. Jack’s Life Drop replenishes the damage long enough for him to continue fighting, while his attacks dismantle the surrounding forces. Eva is killed in the ensuing battle; Jack later takes the space ring from her corpse. (Chapters 457–458, 464)

Appearance and personality

Eva has white hair associated with her cultivation of Purity and often wears white. During her meditation on Trial Planet, her hair lies across the ground; later she sits behind a desk as the Hand’s late B-Grade commander. Her purified presence can be felt even when she is not deliberately releasing an aura. (Chapters 223, 286, 415)

She is authoritative, controlled, and pragmatic. She can threaten an investigation or condemn a target without losing composure, and her treatment of Jack is shaped more by her orders and the value of the Life Artifact than by personal hatred. She recognizes the danger he represents even while she continues pursuing him. (Chapters 265, 427, 446, 454)

Abilities and cultivation

Eva cultivates the Dao of Purity and is a B-Grade enforcer of the Hand of God. Her power can affect a wide area and can also be concentrated into white palm strikes and beams. Her attacks show that Purity can remove life and alter terrain, though the exact mechanics are unknown. (Chapters 275, 415, 457–458)

Dao of Purity

During meditation, Eva’s cultivation purifies the environment within a hundred miles: dirt and other impurities vanish from rivers, air, and sea. In combat, she shapes Purity into focused palm attacks. When one strike hits Jack, the surrounding space becomes barren and the life within him is severely diminished; another white beam forces him to teleport to avoid its path. These attacks remain dangerous even when Jack has allies engaging Eva’s companions, because she uses their pressure to land blows while Jack is occupied. (Chapters 275, 457–458)

Command and pursuit

Eva’s abilities also include high-level perception and command of the Hand’s forces. The Hand had deep-scanned those leaving Trial Planet and still failed to detect Jack’s escape; she travels through the galaxy with a fleet and pursues him across space, but it is unclear whether these capabilities come from the Dao of Purity itself. Her late B-Grade strength allows her to operate among the Hand’s senior leaders and to confront Jack alongside Animal Kingdom Ancestors, though she cannot prevent his eventual escape from the Animal Abyss. (Chapters 265, 322, 424–428, 454)
