Ebele Eragorn Rust

Ebele Eragorn Rust is the daughter of Jack Rust and Vivi Eragorn. Curious and adventurous from childhood, she turns grief and separation into a drive to grow stronger, then learns through a painful failure that courage needs judgment as well as effort.

Biography

A curious child who wants to explore

Ebele is born as one of Jack and Vivi’s twins, named for kindness and mercy and in honor of Vivi’s African roots. As a baby, she watches Edgar’s magical lights with focused curiosity, trying repeatedly to grasp one of his conjured hearts before crawling back toward him. When Jack takes the family around Earth, Ebele studies the planet and its wildlife, including an anglerfish in the deep ocean. She is more eager than her brother Eric to look closely at unfamiliar things, and her wonder turns into a clear wish to explore again when she begins speaking (Chapters 325, 338, 355, 376).

Jack’s visits and stories make him an exciting presence in Ebele’s early life. When he returns, she recognizes him as Papa, runs into his arms, and asks to go exploring. She enjoys the dangerous parts of their excursions when she knows he has her, laughing as they dive through clouds and skim over the ocean. Her confidence comes from trust, but the time together is intermittent: Jack leaves again to pursue the war and cultivation, and Ebele has to wait for his return (Chapter 376).

Grief becomes a reason to train

When Eric is lost, Ebele responds differently from her mother. She loves her brother, but her first response to the family’s danger is to work harder and become stronger. At six, she is already unusually capable: she speaks two languages, draws, wrestles children twice her age, studies several martial arts and weapons, and specializes in the sword. Her body has been strengthened through the family’s resources, bringing her physical stats to the level of post-System adults, but she is not yet cultivating. Vivi advises her to wait until twenty-five to begin, because cultivating while her soul is still developing could pull her away from the Dao she will ultimately choose. Ebele wants power, but she accepts that waiting is part of the decision (Chapter 436).

By the time she is a student at Edgar’s Academy, Ebele has begun cultivating and has discovered a Dao, though neither its name nor her formal grade is given. She is the year’s first-ranked disciple and uses her skill to stand up to students poaching animals in the Forest of the Strong. Ebele warns them, offers to help one student’s family after reporting him, and fights when they refuse. She is more capable than any one of the six students but is outnumbered, injured, and unable to stop them from escaping with the animals. The failure makes her recognize that she should have checked for hidden allies before engaging; she resolves to become both stronger and smarter. Jack and Vivi let the lesson stand as a safe failure, while Jack secretly returns the captured animals to their nests (Chapters 547, 550).

Reuniting with Jack and finding her own footing

After years away, Jack returns to Earth and Ebele clings to him, crying over Eric’s death and the time she had missed. She accepts that he must depart again after a short visit, but the goodbye remains painful. In their reunion spar, she is eager to show how much she has learned; Jack slows himself with his Concept of Time so the exchange can teach technique, and Ebele discovers how much farther his combat experience extends. He also notices she has been pushing herself too hard. Ebele apologizes and agrees to try to balance effort with rest. Their brief time together gives her both instruction and a clearer sense of what she still wants to achieve (Chapters 461–463).

When Jack’s clone later returns and promises to stay, Ebele is cautious before accepting his embrace. She has learned from his long absences not to assume he will remain, and the reunion takes time to feel secure. She attends Edgar’s Academy, where she passes the entrance tests on merit, and spends more time meditating, practicing martial arts, playing, and talking with her father. Jack’s presence helps her become calmer and laugh more often, while her independent training and adventures continue. At a later gathering she remains close to her family and friends, and when Jack is hurt by the battle beyond Earth, her urgent concern helps bring him back to himself. By the latest chapter she visits during breaks between her adventures and can share quiet time with him instead of treating every moment together as a countdown to his next departure (Chapters 494, 550, 552, 558, 560).

Appearance and personality

As a baby, Ebele has wide, intelligent eyes and watches the world with focus. She is curious, sharp, competitive, and adventurous; as a child she studies animals and enjoys exploring even when it frightens her. She is also principled and empathetic, willing to offer help to a wrongdoer’s family while insisting that the harm to animals must stop. Her determination can turn into overtraining or acting before she has considered the risks, and she learns to pair her courage with planning.

Abilities and cultivation

Ebele combines early physical conditioning, martial arts, weapon training, and later cultivation. She is an unusually talented and disciplined student, but her class, skill tiers, and Dao remain unnamed. Her exact level and grade remain unstated.

Physical conditioning and martial arts

Before she begins cultivation, Ebele trains in martial arts and several weapons, with a particular interest in the sword. By age six, the resources available to her have strengthened her stats to the level of post-System adults, even though she has not yet begun formal cultivation. Later she carries a spear in the Forest of the Strong and fights several opponents at once; she can injure them, but the larger group overwhelms her. In sparring with Jack she uses punches, kicks, feints, and a sweep, showing technique that Jack can refine through practice. Her growing strength does not make her invulnerable: she is badly hurt when she misjudges the poachers’ numbers (Chapters 436, 462, 547).

Cultivation and Dao

Ebele begins cultivating after the earlier decision to wait while her soul matures. By the Academy poaching incident she has a newly discovered Dao and is slightly higher-leveled than the students she confronts, but her Dao, Grade, exact Level, and Class are unknown. Her cultivation is still developing, and even her Dao is of limited use when she is outnumbered. Her teachers value not only her hard work but her ability to rest and keep her mind flexible; Jack likewise worries that she has adopted an excessively demanding mindset and encourages her to enjoy her life as well as train (Chapters 436, 547, 550).
