Bocor Aximar

Bocor Aximar is a Level 115 Animal Kingdom minotaur whose heavy armor and shield make him a dangerous pursuer and a recurring rival to Jack on Trial Planet.

Biography

An Animal Kingdom hunter in pursuit of Jack

Bocor first appeared as a Level 109 minotaur fighting a giant in the Giant Ring, where his tower shield and heavy armor made him a formidable defensive combatant. By the time he caught up with Jack Rust and Brock, he had rapidly risen to Level 115. Acting as an Animal Kingdom bounty hunter, he threatened to capture Jack alive and kill Nauja if she helped him. Bocor’s level and armor made a direct escape difficult, but Jack used the opening created by their group’s coordination to get away. The encounter established Bocor as both a faction enforcer and a serious physical threat to the people Jack was protecting. (Chapters 130, 144–146)

A public defeat and resentment under Longsword

Bocor later encountered Jack in Lord Longsword’s company on Trial Planet. Jack challenged him despite the gap in their levels; in their duel, Bocor’s armor and shield absorbed many blows, and his stats, training, and resources were slightly superior. His anger at being beaten in front of Longsword made his attacks increasingly predictable, however, and Jack’s improvisation and superior fighting skill won the exchange. Bocor’s humiliation deepened his hostility toward Jack, while Longsword’s habit of treating him as a subordinate added a separate grievance. Bocor nevertheless obeyed Longsword, whose authority and faction interests took precedence over his resentment. (Chapters 163–166, 182, 185, 188)

Bocor continued with Longsword through the Trial Planet rings, remaining a guarded and sometimes hostile presence around Jack’s group. He boasted that he had received a Trial in Space Ring, but the account gives no details of the reward or demonstrates a new ability. In Garden Ring, Bocor chose to challenge the Final Guardian despite warnings that even Lords could not defeat it; the Guardian quickly overwhelmed him, and he later recovered enough to rejoin the others. He continued to fight in the garden conflicts, including an attack on Gan Salin that Nauja helped stop. When the group’s Trial Planet journey ended, Bocor left with Longsword. (Chapters 191, 194, 206–208, 212–213, 217–218, 226)

Appearance and personality

Bocor is a hulking minotaur with horns, heavy plate armor, and a large tower shield. He is formidable when holding ground or charging behind his shield, but his armor makes him slow in tight combat. He is proud of his strength and faction, and reacts badly to public humiliation; anger makes his repeated attacks easier for Jack to read. He follows Lord Longsword’s orders even while resenting the lord’s condescension. (Chapters 145, 166, 185, 208)

Abilities and cultivation

Bocor’s confirmed formal power is measured by the System’s numeric levels. He was Level 109 in the Giant Ring and had reached Level 115 by the time Jack encountered him again. At Level 115 he could overpower lower-level fighters through strength and armor, but Jack later defeated him through close-range movement and unpredictable attacks despite Bocor’s stat and resource advantage. Bocor is not an Elite, and Bocor is slow; his armored charge is more dangerous when he can use the shield to limit an opponent’s movement. (Chapters 130, 144–146, 166, 208)

Armor, shield, and close combat

Bocor fights behind heavy armor and a tower shield, using it to block, bash, and force opponents into narrow openings. In the duel with Jack, he brought the shield forward, swung its sharp lower edge, and landed repeated hits with armored fists, a backfist, and a headbutt. His defense let him withstand Jack’s attacks for a prolonged fight, but Jack slipped inside the shield and exploited Bocor’s repeated patterns. Bocor could charge rapidly enough to pressure Jack and Nauja when fully armored, yet his slower movement and predictable reactions remained exploitable. (Chapters 145, 166, 208)
