Lang Ya land spirit

Lang Ya land spirit is the obsession left by Long Hair Ancestor and the governing spirit of the greatest surviving refinement-path inheritance in Northern Plains. His love of recipes, Immortal Gu refinement, and hairy men makes Lang Ya blessed land both a sanctuary and a target. Two distinct obsessions successively control the same spirit: a cautious white-haired human form centered on refinement, and a militant black-haired hairy-man form determined to establish hairy-man supremacy. His long exchange relationship with Fang Yuan develops from contract-bound cooperation into sect sponsorship, then ends in forced subordination after Fang Yuan annexes the blessed land.

Biography

The white-haired refinement obsessive

Lang Ya first enters events through treasure yellow heaven, where his desire to refine second aperture Gu makes him buy Divine Travel Gu and enormous quantities of materials. The transaction exposes his defining weakness as well as his strength: his refinement knowledge and resources are vast, but an obsession with rare recipes can be baited. When Fang Yuan later enters the blessed land under the terms of Thieving Heaven's three-refinement agreement, the white-haired land spirit completes second aperture Gu and surrenders it because the agreement has become part of his own will and cannot be violated. The same meeting shows that his apparent irritability has firm moral boundaries. He refuses to sell even old hairy-man refiners, calling them his children, although Fang Yuan's offer would be profitable. He regards crafty humans with suspicion, prefers hairy-men disciples, and hoards recipes and Gu to advance refinement path rather than simply accumulate wealth. Fang Yuan nevertheless learns how to trade unfinished recipes, rare Gu, and services for the land spirit's expertise, beginning a partnership in which each side repeatedly tries to obtain the better bargain. Repeated invasions reveal the limits of the white-haired personality's protection. He hides his hairy-man Gu Immortals inside Refinement Cauldron, training them almost entirely as refinement assistants and sparing them from combat. This preserves talent but leaves them dangerously inexperienced when Qin Bai Sheng's force launches the fourth attack. Faced with a crisis his cautious obsession cannot resolve, the white-haired spirit relinquishes control to the other obsession within the same land spirit. (Chapters 880–882)

The black-haired spirit and Lang Ya Sect

The black-haired personality appears as a tall, forceful hairy man who is willing to fight, expose hidden forces, and risk subordinates. He assembles Heavenly Giant Solor with the resident Gu Immortals and contests the invaders through a silver giant. The defense saves the blessed land but costs the life of First Hair and much of Refinement Cauldron, while the enemy seizes many core Immortal Gu. Lang Ya then relocates the blessed land, trading its established position for secrecy. (Chapters 880–885)

Rather than return to isolated stewardship, the black-haired spirit reorganizes the survivors as Lang Ya Sect and names himself first supreme elder. Fang Yuan becomes an external supreme elder because the land spirit values his battle strength, inheritances, and capacity to support expansion, even while distrusting him as a human. The sect's declared horizon is a world in which hairy men rise over humans, and Lang Ya builds alliances with other variant-human forces to make that ambition more than rhetoric. (Chapters 980, 992)

He also tries to correct the weakness exposed by the invasion. Sect missions, competitions, and controlled conflicts force protected hairy-man immortals to gain battle experience, while a Tai Qiu program seeks resources and a remote base linked by teleportation formations. Lang Ya often supplies Fang Yuan with refinement, loans, sect contribution rewards, and intelligence for these projects. Fang Yuan's apparent enthusiasm repeatedly flatters the spirit's ambition, but the relationship remains an exchange in which the land spirit's confidence can be manipulated. Defending the refinement sanctuary

When Feng Jiu Ge invades, Lang Ya directs the silver giant, heals endangered hairy men, activates allied variant-human reinforcements, and combines the blessed land's formations with intelligence provided by Fang Yuan. Heavenly Giant Solor reaches rank-eight battle strength but cannot easily pin down Feng Jiu Ge and spends substantial immortal essence. Lang Ya's preparation against submission song and his reserve methods ultimately matter as much as brute force. (Chapters 1545–1547)

Feng Jiu Ge's winds of assimilation threaten the entire blessed land. Lang Ya transforms the silver giant into the branch of a true stability tree, blocking the winds long enough to preserve the land. The defense demonstrates the mature form of his administration: inherited formations, variant-human alliance obligations, resident immortals, and Fang Yuan's information work as a system. It also shows the system's dependence on the land spirit remaining in control of the blessed land and on others supplying the combat experience he personally lacks. (Chapters 1545–1547)

Heavenly Court's pressure continues after the invasion, and Lang Ya increasingly relies on Fang Yuan's apparent rank-eight battle strength. The land spirit still controls immense stores and refinement infrastructure, but repeated attacks narrow his options and make his strongest partner indispensable. The sponsor relationship has inverted: the external elder once dependent on Lang Ya's materials now possesses the power and attainment needed to seize the institution itself. Subjugation and annexation

Fang Yuan hides a blood-path formation inside the Long Hair refinement formation and activates it while Lang Ya is committed to refinement. The trap severs the land spirit's connection to the blessed land, suppresses the black-haired personality, and also overcomes the white-haired personality when it emerges. Lang Ya's inherited refinement attainment remains extraordinary, but it is far below Fang Yuan's quasi-supreme level, and his ordinary formation-path attainment does not reveal the nested formation in time. Forced into submission, the black-haired spirit must continue operating as if nothing has changed. (Chapters 1757–1758)

Under Fang Yuan's command, Lang Ya employs inherited arrangements and helps remove the seal on the immortal aperture's origin core. The seal had lowered a milky-white rank-eight core to a red rank-seven core, turning the former grotto-heaven's heavenly spirit into a blessed land's land spirit and reducing the severity of future calamities. Once the core is restored, Fang Yuan annexes Lang Ya blessed land into the sovereign immortal aperture. The land spirit survives the annexation, but now calls Fang Yuan master and serves within a domain he no longer owns. (Chapters 1759, 1766–1771)

In this subordinate state, Lang Ya continues identifying Gu, managing inherited stores, and supplying refinement knowledge. His latest shown reaction to Fang Yuan's exchange list is astonishment at reserves that exceed even his experience, a final reversal of their original commercial relationship: the former master of the richest refinement treasury now evaluates the resources of the cultivator who absorbed it. He remains active and knowledgeable, but his sponsorship, territorial control, and independent sect program have ended. (Chapters 1771, 2132)

Appearance and personality

The white-haired personality resembles an elderly human with long white hair and a beard. He is candid, irritable, cautious, and almost childishly transparent when a rare recipe or refinement problem captures his attention. His affection for hairy men is paternal and concrete: he refuses profitable sales, shields them from danger, and grieves their deaths. (Chapters 485–487, 882)

The black-haired personality has the form of a powerful, black-haired hairy man. He is louder, bolder, more suspicious of humans, and openly committed to hairy-man supremacy. Unlike the white-haired spirit, he accepts that battle experience and political alliances are necessary. Both personalities share pride in refinement, attachment to Lang Ya's people, and a vulnerability to Fang Yuan's calculated praise and offers. (Chapters 880, 980, 992, 1085)

Abilities and cultivation

Land-spirit authority

Within Lang Ya blessed land, the land spirit can sense and manipulate its environment, move people through its spaces, relocate the blessed land through prepared methods, and direct its formations and stores. This authority is territorial: it does not make him an ordinary mobile Gu Immortal, and severing his connection to the land almost completely immobilizes him. After annexation, he remains an active spirit but exercises authority only under Fang Yuan's mastery. (Chapters 485–487, 885, 1085, 1757, 1769–1771)

Refinement attainment and contracts

Lang Ya can complete difficult Immortal Gu refinements, reverse-refine invading Gu, analyze recipes, and run Long Hair Ancestor's vast refinement infrastructure. His attainment is extraordinary but does not equal the ancestor's full living peak and is explicitly far below Fang Yuan's later quasi-supreme refinement attainment. Refinement still needs recipes, materials, formations, soul foundation or control appropriate to dangerous final steps, and may fail. As a land spirit, he is also bound by agreements incorporated into the obsession and cannot simply refuse their terms. (Chapters 485–487, 882, 1757)

Refinement Cauldron

Refinement Cauldron is an Immortal Gu House integrated into the blessed land and used to shelter hairy-man immortals and refine or seize an invader's Gu. Its effectiveness depends on intact component Immortal Gu and capable operators. The fourth invasion captures a large portion of the cauldron, permanently reducing the original defensive arrangement even though later formations compensate for part of the loss. Heavenly Giant Solor

Heavenly Giant Solor is an ancient battle formation that combines multiple Gu Immortals into a three-headed, six-armed silver giant under the land spirit's direction. It can attain rank-eight battle strength, coordinate several killer moves through different arms, and transform to answer special threats such as winds of assimilation. It consumes substantial immortal essence and depends on formation members, coordination, and an intact structure; inexperienced participants can hold back its real power. (Chapters 883, 1545–1547)

One Step Back, Sea and Sky Expands

This refinement-path adaptation seals the aperture's rank-eight origin core into a rank-seven core, lowering the grotto-heaven into a blessed land and changing the heavenly spirit into a land spirit. The lowered state reduces future calamity pressure but also reduces the aperture's grade. Lang Ya candidly describes the method as an adaptation built on Thieving Heaven and Limitless inheritances rather than an original creation; reversing it is a lengthy refinement operation. Fang Yuan

Fang Yuan begins as a beneficiary of Thieving Heaven's agreement, then becomes Lang Ya's customer, exchange partner, sect elder, defender, and exploiter. The land spirit sponsors his refinements and growth because Fang Yuan supplies recipes, inheritances, battle strength, and strategy. Fang Yuan ultimately turns that accumulated access against him, suppressing both personalities and annexing the blessed land. (Chapters 485–487, 980–992, 1084–1085, 1545–1547, 1757–1769)

The hairy-man immortals

Lang Ya regards the resident hairy men as children and the future rulers of a new era. The white-haired spirit protects them so completely that they lack combat experience; the black-haired spirit forms Lang Ya Sect and forces them through missions and competition to correct that weakness. Their welfare motivates both his most humane refusals and his most militant ambitions. (Chapters 487, 882, 980, 1050)

Qin Bai Sheng and Feng Jiu Ge

Qin Bai Sheng leads the fourth invasion that forces the personality change and costs Lang Ya much of Refinement Cauldron. Feng Jiu Ge's later assault tests the rebuilt sect, variant-human alliance, and layered formations. Together the attacks transform Lang Ya from an isolated collector into a defensive ruler, while also exposing the dependence that Fang Yuan later exploits. (Chapters 880–885, 1545–1547)
