Yao Bingyun

Yao Bingyun, the Ice Phoenix of the Yao family, is a mid-stage Nirvana Scryer cultivator whose ruthless dao is built upon love and guilt for her sacrificed younger sister. She hunts Wang Lin for the reward that might free that sister, only for their conflict to become part of his comprehension of karma. (Chapters 824–879)

Biography

Five centuries of sealed senses

Yao Bingyun and Yao Mengyun are taken as children to become souls for the Yao family's ancestral treasure. When the treasure accepts only Mengyun, Bingyun is spared after a moment of fear makes her step back. She immediately regrets surviving and begs to take her sister's place, but the Blood God refuses. Her promise to save Mengyun becomes the center of her dao heart. (Chapters 848–849)

To obtain the strength required, Yao Bingyun begins the forbidden Soul Seal after Ascendant. It closes sight, speech, hearing, smell, and emotion, risking permanent entrapment and death. She remains sealed on the family's ice planet for five hundred years and emerges as one of the Eastern Domain's three phoenixes. The resulting coldness is cultivated rather than natural: she uses a heart full of love to pursue a ruthless dao. (Chapters 827 and 849)

Pursuit of Xu Mu

Normally uninterested in family disputes, Yao Bingyun joins the Heaven Order's hunt because the Blood God promises the killer of Xu Mu the full power of the Yao family for one request. To her, that reward means a chance to rescue Mengyun. She follows Wang Lin across domains with Spatial Bending and a predictive mirror, forcing him to remain merged with the world for damaging lengths of time. Their direct battle demonstrates that he cannot then defeat her through ordinary force; he escapes only by making her spend effort neutralizing Call the Wind. (Chapters 827–832)

Wang Lin eventually reverses the pursuit with a prepared planetary trap and captures her. Instead of devouring her domain, he borrows it to test and complete his understanding of karma. Experiencing the memories behind her ruthlessness reveals that the enemy who seemed emotionless is driven by grief, and he refuses to destroy her dao heart after achieving his own insight. A completed karmic exchange

When released, Yao Bingyun asks whether the voice that once promised help in the ancestral hall could have been Wang Lin across reincarnation. He answers that his present strength cannot save her sister. She leaves with tears rather than resuming the fight. From Wang Lin's perspective, her pursuit harmed him but also enabled his breakthrough, so their karmic cause and effect are complete. Later she watches his rise as Thunder Celestial from a remote ice peak, her response complex rather than openly hostile. (Chapters 849–850 and 879)

Appearance and personality

Yao Bingyun is a cold beauty whose presence carries an icy chill. Her expression remains almost unchanged even in combat, a consequence of the Soul Seal's emotional severance. Beneath that exterior are remorse, fierce sisterly love, and extraordinary endurance. The rare tears and bleakness that appear after Wang Lin releases her expose the feeling her chosen dao suppresses but never eliminates. (Chapters 827–832 and 848–850)

Mid-stage Nirvana Scryer cultivation

Yao Bingyun is at least mid-stage Nirvana Scryer during the hunt. Her origin-energy control and comprehension of Spatial Bending let her track Wang Lin through repeated mergers with the world. She cannot remain merged indefinitely: after sixteen days she is forced to emerge first, while repeated pursuit taxes even Wang Lin's unusual endurance. (Chapters 827–828 and 832)

Soul Seal and ruthless domain

The Soul Seal closes the origin soul's senses and cuts away emotion so the cultivator can approach ruthless dao. Its danger is literal—an error can trap the practitioner until death. Yao survives five centuries, but the result depends on a contradiction: love for Mengyun is the dao heart sustaining the emotionless path. Exposing or breaking that bond could collapse her foundation, which is why Wang Lin refuses to exploit it after comprehending her memories. (Chapters 827 and 848–849)

Ice Break and Blood Collapse

“Ice Break” spreads freezing space outward from one pointing finger, condensing blue crystals and stopping thunder attacks until Ta Shan and Call the Wind break the field. “Blood Collapse” agitates blood inside a target, forcing it out as mist and interrupting physical attacks before contact. The latter fuses divine sense and origin energy, making it capable of injuring the origin soul but also less pure than a dedicated divine-sense technique. (Chapters 828 and 871)

Predictive mirror and blue core

Her small mirror combines hand seals with prediction to display Wang Lin's location even after Spatial Bending. It can be deceived by preparation and breaks when she presses into Wang's counterattack. A blue core neutralizes Call the Wind's cold breath, but dims after the exchange, indicating stored power that can be depleted. (Chapters 827–833)

Relationships
