Shengong Hu

Shengong Hu is a gifted thunder cultivator who mistakes Wang Lin's profound gaze for the “dao sight” of a hidden senior and voluntarily pledges a thousand years of service. Although that conclusion begins as a misunderstanding, his loyalty survives family pressure, battlefield danger, and the eventual return of his pledged dao soul. Biography

A mistaken recognition

Shengong Hu enters as a proud member of Allheaven's younger elite: nearly a thousand years old, among the top-ranked talents, at peak Corporeal Yang, and serving as a level-two Thunder Celestial Temple messenger. Wang Lin's gaze after a glimpse of third-step understanding makes Shengong believe he has encountered an unfathomable senior. He prostrates himself, offers a thousand years of service, and hands over part of his dao soul. (Chapters 725–733)

The pledge is not without cost. Remaining loyal to “Xu Mu” risks alienation from both his family and the Temple, yet Shengong repeatedly insists that he does not regret it. Wang Lin initially maintains distance because close contact might expose the mistaken inference. Over time, however, Shengong's choice becomes useful evidence of Wang Lin's standing and a genuine relationship rather than a momentary act of fear. (Chapters 733–801)

Thunder lake and celestial competition

Shengong cultivates in a thunder lake, where thunder origin energy that would injure ordinary cultivators strengthens his path. During the celestial competition he recognizes Wang Lin, fights with a compressed thunder sphere, and survives encounters beyond his level only with assistance. He helps infer that the strange battlefield uses avatars when sealed bags and altered conditions fail to behave normally. Chosen by five-colored light, he nevertheless refuses the celestial pool rather than abandon his judgment. (Chapters 820–880)

Returned dao and lasting loyalty

The Shengong ancestor later demands that Wang Lin produce Shengong Hu's dao. Wang Lin returns the pledged fragment, ending the formal soul leverage without erasing Shengong's respect. Shengong remains a rival of Zhan Konglie and one of the Allheaven cultivators convinced Wang Lin survived disappearance. Wang Lin asks Master Flamespark to care for him and sends a Joss Flame black dragon as a gift. Much later, the reincarnation-era account identifies Shengong as a sect master. Appearance and personality

Shengong Hu first appears as a black-haired man with the proud bearing of an elite messenger. He can be rash in interpretation—his entire discipleship begins from reading too much into Wang Lin's gaze—but he is not fickle. Once he pledges himself, he accepts social consequences, maintains loyalty after formal control ends, and combines reverence with enough independence to refuse opportunities he judges unsuitable. Abilities and cultivation

Peak Corporeal Yang foundation

At introduction Shengong is at peak Corporeal Yang, close to the boundary before Nirvana Scryer rather than already a third-step expert. This cultivation places him among Allheaven's top younger talents and lets him function as a Temple messenger. It does not let him defeat early Nirvana Scryer opponents such as Big Head unaided, a limit made clear in the celestial battlefield. (Chapters 725–733 and 877)

Thunder-origin cultivation

Shengong's dao absorbs origin energy from thunder. In a thunder lake he can advance deeper than ordinary cultivators and draw far more origin energy from each bolt because his realm and affinity provide greater capacity. When injured, however, his safe depth falls sharply, and Wang Lin's ability to reach the lake's deeper region exceeds his own. Affinity increases efficiency; it does not remove bodily limits. (Chapters 726–733 and 840–871)

Compressed thunder and combat

He condenses thunder into a fist-sized sphere for direct attack and inherits the Shengong family's dragon-like thunder manifestations through the body. These techniques provide explosive ranged force and control over thunder-rich environments. Against stronger Nirvana Scryer opponents, the attack is insufficient by itself, requiring rescue or coordination rather than establishing parity. (Chapters 840–877)

Dao-soul pledge

By surrendering part of his dao soul, Shengong gives Wang Lin a spiritual hold and proves the seriousness of his thousand-year promise. The act is voluntary but dangerous: family elders can demand the fragment, and its possession formalizes a master-servant imbalance. Wang Lin's later return of it ends the coercive mechanism, allowing subsequent loyalty to be read as Shengong's choice. (Chapters 725–736 and 922)
