Qian Feng — Renegade Immortal

Qian Feng is Zhuque Zi's exceptionally talented disciple, a public hero of the war against the Forsaken Immortal Clan, and a hidden predator who raises his cultivation by devouring other cultivators' domains. His pursuit of Wang Lin's power ends with Wang Lin exchanging Qian Feng's life for the return of his own soul piece. (Chapters 367, 417–420, and 466)

Biography

Zhuque Zi's cultivated successor

Qian Feng is both Zhuque Zi's disciple and a descendant of the previous Suzaku, making him a natural contender in the succession. Zhuque Zi accelerates that rise through a predatory cultivation method. At his teacher's order, Qian Feng enters Red Butterfly's confinement, takes her consciousness, domain, and four elemental spirits, and reduces her to a lifeless cultivation furnace called Heartless. She is the third person he has devoured, and each victim increases his cultivation. Although Zhuque Zi presents this as preparation of the next Suzaku, Yunque Zi suspects a darker purpose: because Qian Feng knows the Suzaku Tactic, he may be the body Zhuque Zi intends to possess to extend his own life. Public hero and private conspirator

During the Forsaken Immortal Clan's invasion, Qian Feng cultivates a handsome, dignified, mild, and morally upright public image that conceals his cruelty. Already at mid-stage Soul Transformation, he fights the enemy's junior master to a draw, becomes one of the war's two celebrated young geniuses, and negotiates the agreement by which Suzaku yields its rank-three countries for a temporary halt in the invasion. Behind that reputation, he makes unauthorized arrangements involving the enemy, relocates the Giant Demon Clan to feed bloodline power into Suzaku's formation, and plans to devour Wang Lin's domain, Liu Mei's domain, and even Zhuque Zi's if possible. His ambition outgrows the title he was raised to inherit; once the planet falls into chaos, he intends to take what power he can and leave. (Chapters 413, 417–420, and 435)

Rivalry with Wang Lin

Qian Feng first tests Wang Lin outside the Soul Refining Sect, claiming that he only wants a spar. His condescension lets Wang Lin seize the initiative with a celestial sword and the one-billion-soul flag. Qian Feng survives by calling Suzaku's defensive formation around himself, then drains Red Butterfly's life force to heal the damage. The defeat turns curiosity into personal hatred. He fixates on taking Wang Lin's domain and later joins Liu Mei in attacking him in the Suzaku Tomb. The campaign exposes the weakness behind Qian Feng's cultivated composure: when his treasures fail and his escape is sealed, he pleads that they have no great hatred, then threatens mutual destruction. Wang Lin answers that Red Butterfly's fate is reason enough to kill him. (Chapters 420, 464–466)

Death in the Suzaku Tomb

Pressed by Wang Lin's soul fragments and sword sheaths, Qian Feng uses his family's forbidden iron sword, a relic of the previous Suzaku bearing the blood of a nine-star ancient god. Tuo Sen's projection takes the weapon and effortlessly shatters Qian Feng's Suzaku Formation, leaving him injured and exposed. Wang Lin captures him before he can escape. Qian Feng tries to self-destruct, but the Cultivation Planet Crystal's exchange activates first: his soul piece breaks in payment for Wang Lin's restoration. His body falls into the sea, his elemental spirits escape, and Wang Lin takes his bag. Qian Feng's death also triggers Yunque Zi's hidden reversal in Zi Xin, allowing the woman he treated as a furnace to absorb his remaining cultivation. (Chapters 466–468)

Appearance and personality

Qian Feng is a handsome young man whose dignified appearance and mild manner make him seem morally upright to the wider cultivation world. In private, the same face takes on an openly evil quality. He smiles while stripping Red Butterfly of her identity, treats her as a puppet and reserve of life force, and speaks of Liu Mei as another future concubine to consume. He is ambitious, calculating, and image-conscious, but also arrogant enough to underestimate Wang Lin and vindictive enough to turn one wound into an obsession. Under mortal danger his polished restraint gives way to terror, pleading, and threats. (Chapters 367, 395, 417, 420, and 466)

Abilities and cultivation

Domain and cultivation devouring

Qian Feng advances by devouring another cultivator's consciousness, domain, life energy, and compatible elemental power. Red Butterfly loses her independent will and becomes Heartless after he takes her domain and four elemental spirits; the text states that she is his third victim and that every devouring raises his cultivation. He can subsequently draw life force from her body to restore injuries within moments. This method supplies fast growth and lets him incorporate rare properties, but it requires captive furnaces and destroys the victim. It also creates exploitable bonds: Zi Xin is prepared as another furnace, yet Yunque Zi's reversal causes her to inherit Qian Feng's cultivation when he dies. His dependence on stolen strength therefore contributes directly to his own erasure. (Chapters 367, 420, 466, and 468)

Mid-stage Soul Transformation and Suzaku protection

By the war against the Forsaken Immortal Clan, Qian Feng is explicitly at mid-stage Soul Transformation. He can block a full celestial-sword strike with a pointed finger, although the impact drives him back and injures his arm. His most important defense is the Suzaku Formation marked on his body. It can relocate from a planetary barrier to surround him, absorb the mass detonation of soul fragments, prevent attacks from expelling his origin soul, and buy him time against opponents he cannot overpower directly. The defense is powerful but not absolute: using it does not prevent internal injury, and Tuo Sen's projection breaks it with one strike. Zhuque Zi also steals Qian Feng's lifespan through their connection, showing that the protection carries his teacher's control as well as privilege. (Chapters 420, 465–467)

Suzaku and Qian-family treasures

Qian Feng carries a broad arsenal. Zhuque Zi gives him the Suzaku Awl, a pseudo-celestial treasure, but Wang Lin's soul-fragment detonation forces him to abandon its attack. A red fan emits wind that temporarily checks soul-based opponents; a green wooden effigy consumes Qian Feng's life force to carve the target's likeness, lock that target in place, and manifest a killing blade above them. His last reserve is the Qian family's iron sword, hidden by the previous Suzaku and forbidden except during a family-ending disaster. Its primal aura and ancient-god blood can destroy soul fragments, but Qian Feng cannot control the larger forces it attracts: Tuo Sen takes it from him, removing his counter to the soul flag. His treasures repeatedly delay defeat without curing his tactical disadvantage or arrogance. (Chapters 420, 465, and 466)

Relationships

Wang Lin: Qian Feng first treats him as a rival whose domain can be consumed, then becomes obsessed after losing their spar. Wang Lin kills him in the Suzaku Tomb both to fulfill his promise to Red Butterfly and to exchange Qian Feng's life for his own soul piece. (Chapters 420, 435, and 464–466)
Liu Mei: Liu Mei is his junior apprentice sister and fellow public genius. Qian Feng covets her domain and imagines reducing her to a concubine, yet still cooperates with her against Wang Lin. (Chapters 367, 417, 435, and 464)
Zhuque Zi: Zhuque Zi is Qian Feng's teacher, patron, and possible possessor. He provides the Suzaku Tactic, formation, and treasures while forcing Qian Feng's growth and later taking his lifespan for himself. (Chapters 367, 420, 430, and 467)
